I have been trying to get away from the really pink shiny blushes and I was looking on the Cover Girl website and this color swatch caught my eye. I picked it up and tried at home and fell in love. My skin tone is cool and it looks great on my light complexion. It looks slightly brown but goes on like a cool pink. It gives me just the right amount of color not looking all shiny and pinky. This is a great color for day or night wear. I even love the traditional Cover Girl scent. :) I think it was easy to apply and blended easily.
I bought this after reading reviews because I was looking for something peach-ish. I normally wear blue-based pinks, mauves, etc., and I wanted something natural-looking and easy to apply. I'm NW 20-25 and this works well on me because it doesn't accentuate the pink/blue in my cheeks. I have tried many HE blushes through the years and have a few in my stash, but I keep coming back to my CG Plumberry Glow and now Brick Rose. If you're sensitive to smell, then don't buy it. It has that CG smell we're all familiar with. It lasts on my oily face as long as any other blush I've worn (including each and every HE blush) and it's was around 4 bucks.
I love this blush because it has just the right color to give me a really down-to-earth glow and it brightens my face wonderfully. It is priced very well, i just wish they wouldn't waste their own money putting that cheap little brush in there...it goes straight to the trash every time. great coverage and it lasts a long time with a beautiful color, wouldn't use anything else!
This is a beatiful shade, oddly named 'brick rose' because I see it is more to the cool side than warm brick shade as I expected and was looking for. It last and lasts, not too powdery, not too pigmented, just right.
The scent annoys a bit but is a fast vanishing one. Sadly, it is rated highly toxic in the cosmeticdatabase. So it is ruled out for everyday blush.
Great blush for those who don't look good in blush. A neutral brown-toned rose that won't look too bright or pink on if you have those problems with blushes.
I only give this a four because of the smell. It has a very powdery, perfumey smell that doesn't particularly bother me, but I'm sure it bothers a lot of people who use this. My new Clean powder doesn't have that smell, so maybe eventually they will reformulate these to get rid of the fragrance. This is the best color of blush I have ever used. It brightens and shapes my face without looking too "made up." The pigmentation is excellent for such an inexpensive blush, though I find the wear time is better if I layer this over my NYC creme blush stick in Berry New Yorker. I haven't noticed any shimmer, which is great for a natural look and very hard to find in DS blushes. I will keep an eye out for a similar color in a better formula, but in the meantime, I am sure I will repurchase this.
I've been using this product for years, it works and looks great! The brush is small and pretty useless, so I buy that separately. Overall a great product!
I have a collection of expensive, high-end blushes--mostly NARS--and yet, this is the blush I find myself reaching for more than anything else I own. The pigmentation is great, and the finish is perfect--not too matte, but not too shimmery, just the perfect amount of subtle glow. Also, as one or two other reviewers have noted, the cheap-looking brush that comes with the compact applies the product in a surprisingly even and beautiful fashion. As for the color, in the pan it is a cool-toned brownish pink, but on my skin it gives the perfect pink flush. For reference, I am an NC30 with olive/yellow undertones to my skin, and most pinks end up looking too warm or ruddy on me, but this is one of the few pink blushes that look like a true pink on my skin. And of course, the best part is the low price. Unbelievable value for the quality of this product. It definitely rivals any of my higher-end blushes that cost 4 to 5 times as much.
UPDATE: This turned out to be an excellent blush. Oh, and guess what. That dinky, itty-bitty, cheapie brush it comes with? Terrific! The other day, I was in a hurry and I just used the little brush to apply this blush. My friends (all 3 of them) asked me how I managed to make my blush look so beautifully applied, so natural, so airbrush-like. 'Nuff said. Now I only use the cheapy little brush, so despised by all. Sometimes the must humble little things are the ones which work the best.
This is an excellent blush, especially for $4. I wanted a blush that ran more towards a cool pink, but I didn't want to spend a fortune. I found this and I must say, I love it. It gives me a very natural flush. The brush it comes with is not hideous, but I use my own MU brushes. I compared this with the new Maybelline Fit Me Medium Nude and side by side these are identical. I do recommend this.
I really like this blush. I was on the hunt for a neutral rosy brown blush without a lot of shimmer, and this fit the description exactly. I've had luck with the cheekers blushes before... they're not the best in the world, but they're a fun, cheap thrill and have a great range of shades... so I bought it. I'm so glad I did! It gives my cheekbones a perfectly sculpted look without being garish or over-the-top. This color is great because it is neutral enough that it doesn't compete or clash with most of my lip and eye looks.
Lets face it. This stuff isn't as finely-milled or pigmented as my MAC or NARS blushes, and its lasting power isn't great... but I find myself reaching for it all the time nonetheless. For less than 4 bucks, that's not too shabby!
