its moisturizing and matifying at the same time. however, if you have other exfoliators in your regimen, this can feel a little bit itchy. it contains B6 vitamin, gluconate of Zinc, Cucurbita pepo as matifyers and Salicylic Acid as exfoliator. it lacks spf !

This is THE BEST moisturiser I've ever purchased.
My skin can be sensitive at times and extremely oily, this moisturiser does not irritate nor make me even more oily than what I tend to be throughout the day.
I'm on my 4th bottle now

Never have I met one moisturizer which claims that it mattifies oily skin that worked, and without alcohol and fragrance. This comes very near to the result it promised. Glad that I decided to go with this at Watsons. :)

I've been using this for 3-4 years already, for the simple fact that I needed a moisturiser that doesn't break out my combi skin in the tropical climate, and goes well with all the other stuff I put on my face, and well, it does the job.
It's in a pump in a glass bottle, so I usually do 2 pumps and spread over the face. And right after that, the sunscreen goes over it. It can be slightly sticky for the first 5 mins but after that it's fine and I start on my make-up.
While it's fine to use it in the day, I find that since now I'm getting older, I need more moisture-intense stuff, so I'm on the lookout for a night moisturer specifically; this Avene moisturiser is not enough for the night.
Oh and about the mattifiying part? Not sure if it's due to this or growing older, but I do find while I used to blot my face a couple times during the day to refresh, nowadays sometimes I don't even have to as it's not that obviously shiny, if you know what I mean.

This is my 3rd bottle already! Just simply love it.
I use it as a pre-make up cream, it not only did great job in matifiying, but also smoothen my pores. It is light and and do not have those tight feeling from some of the matifying product. Enable me apply my makeup easily.
I only thing i disliked is the packaging. I bought mine in Asia, and its bottle was in glass bottle, which is really inconvenient.

05/29/2009: Updating my rating from a 3 to a 5. I actually have come to love this moisturiser! Since I bought it in March it has had no negative effect on my skin. No breakouts and no irritation, so I am willing to overlook the lack of mattifying effect for those reasons alone and give this a 5/5. I will be repurchasing when my bottle runs out, which happens to be soon.
Hate to rain on the good ratings parade, but this moisturiser is just so-so for me. I love that it's light-weight, and it keeps me breakout and clogged-pore free, but unfortunately it leaves my face incredibly shiny and sticky after about 10 minutes. So sticky I cannot even use my C&C blotting sheets to take off the shine. So this is good for the light moisture, but not the mattifying effect I really need for the coming summer. continued >>

I am now on the second bottle. Only two pump covers my whole face. It glides so smoothly and dries quickly. It does really good job matifying. However, I don't think it's moisturizing enough. So, after cleansing and toning, I apply this matifying fluid moistrizer and then another oil-free moisturizer. After that, my makeup routine. My makeup stays fresh. Even though my skin starts to shine a little bit in the afternoon, it's more like dewy shine other than greasy and oily shine. All I hope is they can change the glass bottle to plastic or something lighter.

This product is a great no-nonsense moisturiser that does what it claims to do. I love the fact that it doesn't have artificial colouring or fragrance, which is great for my sensitive greasy skin. It did a good job of keeping the oilies at bay but might be too drying for other skin types.

Wow this moisturiser is amazing, i brough this as i have really oily skin and wanted a good moisturiser that would make my foundation stay on longer...but what i noticed first using it was that my acne cleared up, even the tiny little annoying ones! Not the best mattifying moisturiser on the market but im going to carry on using Avene as it has cleared my acne up.

This does a good job moisturizing my face, and I live in California, where it is rather dry, especially in the summertime.
The consistency is not as rich or creamy as their traditional moisturizing cream, so it's not meant to be used as a night time moisturizer, in my opinion, when you need something more nourishing for your skin. For the day, it gives a light coat, just enough, because I follow up with sunscreen and primer, so I dont need my moisturizer to be super rich. And I like that it's matifying, because my t-zone tends to get oily/shiny in the middle of the day.
The packaging is a nice glass bottle, and it's easy to use and easy to carry around, but a little heavy. For the price, Avene products are great. I also was not able to find this in the states, and did not buy it until I went to Japan, where I hear it's very popular among the ladies.

I like the texture of this. Goes on smoothly. Too bad it drys out my cheeks, within hours of using, my cheeks are very tight and can see a lot of lines forming when attempted to smile.

my skin is oily yet dehydrated.

I love this product......the weather in Moscow has gone from -13 to +4 and my skin has started to swim with oil because of the temperature change. I was using the Light Hydrating Moisturiser but decided to give this a go and to my surprise my skin stayed matt for most of the day. I will definitely be wearing this during the summer months.

Though it is mattifying, it do not give much moisture. regret buying it

would definitely be using this product continuously cos my face tends to clog up real easily.
with the hot humid climate like singapore, it is really suitable for hydrating oily n sensitive skins. i can safely spread it over my fading spots. it's got anti-bacterial properties too, so doesn't cause more breakouts since i've started using this mattifying moisturiser.

A very very light moisturizer that is supposed to control oilness and matify the skin.
I have combination skin so when i put it on the cheeks i felt no hydration at all, as a matter of fact i felt uncomfortable so i had to use my regular moisturizer. On the T-zone it felt ok but i will have to test it at all conditions, a very hot day, under sunscreen and make up etc

UPDATE: Not moisturizing enough but it seems to matify. I'll use it under my sunscreen but not alone or under makeup because i think it'll dehydrate my face
