I love BB products, and the SPF 25 and peptides in this product piqued my interest. Ive been using this as a night cream and a base under skin foundation daily for 1 week. My pros thus far: my skin definitely feels softer and dewy, It absorbs quickly and leaves skin moist but never greasy.I feel great about being compliant with essential sun protection.
Cons: I do not like the strong, chemical-type scent,( maybe thats from the sunscreen? ) For the price, I wish it had a jar design like K Somerville tissue repair, which dispenses measured doses of product cleanly, instead of dipping fingers in jar for every use. I will definitely use the rest of this jar- too expensive to waste!.
I do prefer BB gel cream moisturizer for daytime. Cheaper, Its very light, mild scent, greasless, but unfortunately has no sunsreen protection or peptides.

So I'm aged 42 and my skin does become dryer over the years which means I do need a good moisturiser for dry skin. This one is great - but not really for people with oily skins, I can see that you need dry or more mature skin to appreciate it. I can leave an oily film, which is fine for night-time but perhaps not so good during the day.
However, I find it has really made a difference during the day to my foundation application. My foundation is MAC Pro Longwear and although I love it, it's a pig to wear if you have dry skin. so this moisturiser is ideal to use as a base - it leaves my skin dewy even with this longwear foundation, even though I have dry skin.
If you have more mature skin which is dry, this is great as overnight cream and as a foundation base (MUA tells me it contains a primer). During the day, on bare skin, you may find it looks too greasy. I guess it depends on how dry your skin is.
I don't mind the open jar container as I always have clean hands and fingers to apply it, so I'm not concerned about the hygene aspect.
Downside - price. It is extremely expensive. However, you only need a blob of it for the whole face. I'll work through the jar and see how long it ends up lasting me. Hopefully it will last me a few months and then I can justify the cost

I have been using this face cream for years and have received compliments on my skin. The SPF 25 acts to protect, and the cream just melts into my face. I love it! I have gotten both my daughters and granddaughters to use it. This product is indeed expensive, but aren't we worth it?

I received a sample of this in a recent Bobbi Brown order and after trying it one time I went and ordered the full size. It is fabulous and has made such a difference in my skin and makeup application! My skin has been so dry and this deeply moisturizes without making my skin greasy unlike alot of the other cremes I've tried (I'm talking about you Avon anew!). I will admit that it almost killed me to pay $88 for a skin creme though and I've never paid over $15 for one before so you know I love it to pay what I did. It's pricey but I love it and will repurchase if I can scrape up the extra $$$ when I run out.

This stuff is just like the Xtra SPF 25 TM, which is HG for me by the way! It is exactly like the TM, but no color as well as more expensive.
Very moisturizing for dry skin. Product sinks into skin with no greasy residue nor a greasy looking face.
To me this is a 3 -in- 1 product ( moisturizer, SPF, primer). Love the elegance of the glass jar, don't love the price so much ( $85).
Highly recommended if you want to banish dry, tight skin. I wouldn't recommend it for oily skinned ppl as it may be too emollient. Overall a gr8 product, but if you want it for less, try the Xtra TM Spf25 instead and save about $35.

Lovely. Nice, thick consistency for my dry skin, feels amazing on. I use it everywhere but my chin, which breaks out at times. If you have dry skin or patches of dryness, this is the moisturizer for you, plus, it does contain broad spectru UVA and UVB sun protection. The smell is absolutely fantastic as well.

Fantastic product.
Everything you would want,
Luxurious, rich, full of essential oils
And your skin really benefits from it
In the long run.
My face now looks great without makeup.
Loves you Bobbi x
P.s, what's all this rubbish about the smell?
It has a light lemony fresh smell to it, its the nicest smelling cream I have ever come across

Love it. My skin is very dry in areas and very fair so I have to wear sunscreen. In the past I have always had dull dry looking skin and foundation looked horrible. This cream is amazing. I put it on in the morning right before my makeup and everything after goes on beautifully. Granted, this moisturizer is heavy so it is not for the oily or combination skin types. You really need dry skin to appreciate it. I also like that it has a very light smell as I really don't like moisturizers for my face to be heavily perfumed. The price is the biggest kicker though but a little goes a long way unlike other creams that I had to slather on to feel like it was working. The jar lasts me close to 6 months. For me $85 2x per year is worth it.

I am a big fan of Bobbi Brown products but I was very disappointed with this moisturizer. I found it be quite thick and VERY greasy. I normally have very clear skin however, after a week of using this my face broke out in pimples.
I do like how this moisturizer smells but it's just too thick and greasy for me :( I will not buy this product again.

I have been using this product for a while now.. It is way too expensive but I must admit there is a lot of product.
It is very creamy and moisturizing and makes my skin feel flawless.
The smell is lovely. The packaging, which is kind of very BB is classic but I am starting to dislike glass jars.
Has it made my skin better? not sure, because this is just one of the many products and cleansers that I do use. Is it good -- yes. Is it worth the heavy price tag.. doubt it.
There are many other products which can dupe this.

Wouldn't call this a balm, it's pretty much just a rich cream.
I love this stuff and it's soothing when my face is feeling irritated and my allergies are flaring up. Crazy expensive which is a downside.

Overall, I love this product, I just wish it wasn't so expensive! Its 85$ for 1.7 oz. This is the best moisturizing sunscreen I've ever used. When I apply it in the am, I don't have any dry, flaky skin till the evening. It does have an odd medicinal smell that goes away after several seconds. I have very sensitive skin and this has not broken me out. I have repurchased it once.

This is my HG winter-time moisturizer b/c it is super-thick and rich, and my poor extremely dry skin just drinks it in. When I don't use this, my fake gets flakey during the day; and I keep a small container in my bag. I also like that it has SPF 25. It's hard to find a good moisturizer w/semi-high SPF that doesn't smell chemically. I actually find the scent of this product quite pleasant and will continue to buy a new jar every winter.

I received a sample packet of this from BB with another order. As I applied it, I was immediately overcome with a very stong stench. It seemed like a combination of perfume, noxema, and the "wet dog" smell from Philosophy Hope In a Jar. Yuck. While I didn't see lavender oil (like in HIAJ) in the ingredients, it does have many essential oils (primrose, rosemary, bitter orange) and citronellol. NOT a good combination. (Note: there is no perfume/fragrance listed.) The scent lingers, it does not dissipate rapidly. I wanted soooo much to wash it right off my face, but I didn't. I stuck it out.

The product itself is extremely moisturizing. It has a nice thick consistency and feels great going on. But it doesn't completely sink in, leaving your skin feeling slightly greasy hours later. It would be something to wear at night, IMO, but there is no reason for the SPF 25. If you have extremely dry skin, this would be a really nice treatment. The moisturizing properties are great. That said, I will not purchase. I cannot handle the smell.

I really REALLY wanted this product to work for me but eventually I had to give in and exchange it. No matter how much I tried to break this balm down my complexion still looked way too shiny after application. Not only that, it made me BREAK OUT with big red pimples all over and also left tiny white bumps on my forehead and chin that I'm now trying desperately to get rid of. This balm is just way too emollient for my skin and even made my pores look bigger and blemishes more noticeable. It just sat on my face and took a good 3 hours to fully sink into my skin. If you really want to use this balm, I recommend only using it at night so by morning it would have done it's job without making you look like a butter ball.

This is my HG moisturizer for my sensitive, dry skin. Definitely a product for gals with dry to extra dry skin. I cannot find another cream that compares to this moisturizer. It's pretty expensive at $85, but you only need a tiny amount to get the job done and the 1.7oz jar lasts a long time. Since this product is a balm, it needs to be broken down. Therefore apply about a nickel size amount to clean hands and warm it up. Then pat/press into the skin with both palms. You will not be disappointed in this cream if applied correctly. If not, your face will look like a butter ball! I actually like the smell, very clean (think aromatherapy) and there's no perfumey, irritating scent. I use this product twice a day year round. It provides an excellent slip, so my foundation does not lay on top of my skin and always looks very natural. Also, I love the high SPF 25 that is hard to find in moisturizers.

I have quite dehydrated skin and find that this sinks in with no problems and seems rich enough. My skin feels fine and it seems to provide the moisture however my skin feels that it could do with a little more. It is probably more suited for dry skins.

This is the best moisturizer I've ever used. I have an under active thyroid and my skin tends to be very dry. It is the 1st time that I find a product that really works this well. It also lasts much longer than some other competitive products. Just warm it up in the palm of your hand before applying.
