This moisturiser dried my skin out and broke me out. I had red spots all over my face from this, and when I applied it, it gave my face a burning sort of feeling. If you have dry/sensitive skin I would recommend not buying this product!
Moisturises super well and my favourite to use on my dry forehead but it doesn't seem to absorb at all and leaves my whole face looking really shiny for hours. I'll repurchase it because it works well when my skin is feeling very dry.
I have very acne-prone combination skin. I mostly try to use more natural products, but when it comes to a facial moisturiser, I keep coming back to this drugstore brand just because it's the only one I've found that moisturises well enough without breaking me out. It works under makeup and keeps oiliness somewhat in check. And it's cheap!
This is an oil-free moisturiser, and I have dry-combination skin (dry cheeks&under eyes, and oily T-zone and eye lids), so this really is not exactly for my skin type and is more for oily skin.
HOWEVER, I quite like this moisturiser and have been using it for months now. I initially bought it because it has salicylic acid so wanted to use it to help clear the blackheads on my nose - which sadly it hasn't done!
The first few times that I used it, it did temporarily irritate my skin and made it red - but it went away after say half an hour, and it completely stopped after a few uses, and also I have sensitive skin so I reckon not everyone would get this reaction. Otherwise it hasn't caused me any breakouts or other problems.
The feel of this is velvety, and it gets absorbed so so quickly into the skin. It's not sticky at all, not runny, more like a thicker gel perhaps. I feel like on my skin this acts like a really good makeup primer, as it feels a bit silicone-y, so foundation sticks nicely to it - always a bonus :)
This doesn't have any SPF, which for me is a downside as I don't like using more than one moisturiser/primer on my face at a time, and in daytime/light I do always use an SPF, which means I only use this either if I'm going to be indoors, or if it's dark outside/ at night.
For my dry cheeks, I do need more moisture sometimes, but I think this would be absolutely great for oily/combination skin, and it's only about £5 so really why not give it a go! continued >>
I have very oily acne prone skin and this has been a life saver so far! I finally got around to buying this recently after a friend recommended it to me and it was one of the best decisions I made. First of all, this moisturiser is truly oil free and skin absorbs this beautifully unlike other moisturisers I've tried in the past. It is not liquidy, runny, slimy or anything of that kind instead it has an almost gel like feel to the texture which is really nice and refreshing. In terms of effectiveness in treating acne and post acne inflamation this has been tremendously effective for me, definitely helps with post acne inflamation, redness, skin tone, texture and the overall healing process of spots. I've only been using this for about a week so since this has helped me so much with all of that I'm curious to see if continuous use will help even more. In addition a bonus point I've found is that it really helps with superficial acne scarring which I'm so happy about and I hope the products helps diminish these for good. This is my first review on MUA and I just had to write one for this product because I love it so much and recommend it to anyone who is dealing with acne and post acne issues as well. Lastly in terms of oiliness I find that this product helps control oil production and therefore my skin does still get oily but it is bearabble and more dewy like than anything else so I love that as well. So I've given this product a 4 just because I've only been using this for about a week so I will update again and hopefully give it the 5 it really deserves. This product is very inexpensive (bought it for about £4 in Superdrug) and so for me this is honestly a win win situation and I hope Neutrogena never stops producing this product. Oh and before I forget the packaging is pretty great, I personally don't like pumps so I'm glad this product came in a tube with a secure cap.

Overall, a very good product. I've been repurchasing this on/off for several years. I have clogged pores and occasional pimples, so when I use harsh medication like BP or BHA/AHA, my skin gets irritated and flaky -- that's when Neutrogena moisturizer isn't enough and doesn't moisturize my skin well. When I came to realize that and started using this moisturizer when I'm off medication and before I apply make-up in the morning -- that's when it works its best. It's not greasy; when my skin isn't flaky -- it moisturizes well, keeps my oils at bay during the day. For that purpose, I haven't found a better moisturizer yet, and I try new stuff all the time.
Not long ago I was told toning you face does more harm than good. Now, I'm not sure how valid a statement this is, but when I heard that was the case, I decided I should see if deleting this step from my regime made any difference. The answer? I'm not sure yet. But it made me eager to try out different skin products. As a fan of the Neutrogena 2 in 1 Facial Mask (vastly improved an ongoing break out on my right cheek) I decided to give the accompanying moisturiser a go. That product being this one. Overall, I like it, it gives a very soothing, cooling effect that is quite refreshing on the skin if a little tingly. I have pretty normal/combo skin but very enlarged pores in a concentrated area of both my cheeks, on my nose, forehead and the bottom of my chin so naturally wanted to try something that was oil free. This moisturiser doesn't feel greasy, it sinks into your sink and provides a good base for makeup. The only thing I would point out is that the menthol in it might perhaps be a little irritating for some. That said, it does feel like its working and hydrating your skin. Overall a good product and I probably would repurchase. I don't have the money to spend vast amounts on makeup/skincare and this comes in at a really healthy price. Worth a try.
EDIT** This lost it's charm. It does nothing for my skin these days and it mildly greasy. I sometimes use it when I mix my foundation in with a moisturiser for a lighter coverage but otherwise, it's just another moisturiser. A shame and folk rave about the Neutrogena range...
I absolutely LOVE this moisturizer! I have bought so many expensive (and overrated) oil-free moisturizers but this one tops the list without a doubt. If you have been blessed with oily skin like myself, then I would really recommend that you try this moisturizer. It's light weight, blends easily and doesn't make my face oily throughout the day. Considering how cheap it is, it really is a stand out product.
Didn't like this moituriser at all. Didn't do much for my skin. Says it will hydrate, smoothe and even out your skin tone, but it didn't do any of that. No wonder it didn't. I wish I had looked at the ingridients list before buying it. The ingridients aren't beneficial at all.

I haven't actually bought this yet, this review is based on the experiences of the product that I gained from stealing some every other day or so from one of my little sisters. She hates the stuff, so she hasn't used it nearly enough to notice that the tube is now empty. Fingers crossed she never will, or several metric tonnes of shit will hit an industrial-sized fan.
First of all, my skin is evil. It doesn't look too bad, and it feels soft enough, but the flakes on my forehead and on/around my nose are indestructible. I can't see or feel them until I put makeup on, and then even the very smoothest of foundations end up catching in all the dry patches. I took a high strength body scrub to my face the other day (I know, I know), slathered myself in lotion, and I still had flaky bits when I applied my foundation ten minutes later. Since this is a matte, anti-spot moisturiser, I didn't hold out much hope. I only stole it because I'd run out of my own stuff on the opening night of a play I was in, which of course involved being caked in thick stage base, and I needed some moisturiser stat. I assumed it would be rubbish. But I was wrong! This is great stuff, really. And as a sensitive-skinned soul prone to both the odd pimple and eczema outbreaks, that's quite an accolade. I still have dry patches post-foundation application if I don't sandpaper my face after cleansing, but this is one of the first moisturisers I've found that keeps my skin sufficiently smooth that I can go out and not have people 'helpfully' pointing out that my foundation has caked all over my T-zone ('you've got a white line on your face', my boyfriend generally says).
As I say, this isn't a rich product and in order to keep my dermatitis-prone skin nice and quenched in the long term, I shall be keeping my eye out for a good nightime moisturiser. But for day moisture, this is A+ shit. I've just put some on and my face is as soft as the proverbial baby's arse. It's fantastic makeup base, and I don't think I've ever said that about face cream before. The chilly minty sensation is nice even on wintry days and lasts long after you've slapped on all your makeup. It's about £4.99 in Boots and a lot of the time they have it on BOGOF (well, 2 for a fiver, which amounts to the same thing). It's full of parabens and all that crap, but isn't everything? What can you do? It could be worse. This may not be for everyone - my sister finds it hopelessly drying and weirdly her skin is far far oilier and more acne-prone than mine, bless her 17 year old socks - but at this price I think it's definitely worth a punt. I'll be buying my own tube imminently and will return to update if I end up breaking out in cystic pustules or something, but based on my experience thus far, I'm sure it'll go just swimmingly. continued >>
