This is an excellent product to be used as a base coat and top coat. The consistency of the "gel" formula does take a little getting used to but the result is a very smooth and glistening finish. because it is so "thick", the gel like liquid envelops the surface and evens out and fills in any imperfections. When used as a top coat it provides great protection against scratches and looks as fresh as a new manicure. I use it on top of my red Essie polish and the firey shine is incredible! It is important to note however that I'm only able to get full week non-chip wear with this top coat when the bottom layers have been well applied and THOROUGHLY DRIED. I know others may not have the patience but I typically let each layer of my polish dry at least 1/2 a day. when each layer is completely dry, you have no chance of any wet polish moving/getting affected once you put the next coat on. No quick drying top coat is going to help protect the wet stuff under neath if it's still semi unset. It will help the top layer dry faster, but the lower layers are still at risk. you will still get chips and the lifting that is so common with thick layers of polish. So make sure you give your bottom coats, including base coat, LOTS of time to dry. Rushing on to next coats will only increase chance of damage later.

I recently bought this because it was on sale at my local chemist (15.95 AUD) and i have to admit that it was very good! my nails felt instantly stronger, and it was shiny! BUT the good comments stop there. On the second day, i started to realize that the polish was peeling off ( I was wearing it by itself) i could peel the whole thing off, and I'm pretty sure that makes your nails thinner. Maybe i applied it to thickly, but I'm really disappointed. I love Sally Hansen products, but I do not recommend :(
This is the best base/top coat I have found and makes having longer-than-fingertip length nails possible in Northeastern winters. Putting two coats on under my polish "ridge fills" and leaves a glassy, gel-like surface over which even the streakiest polishes apply rather evenly. Mind, it doesn't dry [to the point of not bubbling] very quickly when you put two coats on, so I recommend waiting til later in the day to put colour over top this. When I use only one coat as a base, Triple Strong dries quickly and tames my peeling tips for at least three days. I don't experience chipping with this product except where the nail itself has been compromised at the tip--there, after a few days, it's prone to bending and thus chipping a bit. Triple Strong also works well as a very sturdy topcoat, though it is not particularly fast drying.
Despite performing better in the non-winter months, it's absolutely the best product I've found to mitigate the winter condition of my nails.

This is the best product on the market for nail strength. It is a gel nail polish that makes your nails virtually unbreakable. It is kind of expensive because it gets way too thick before the bottle is gone. I usually have to get a new bottle at the halfway point. Use this everyday and you can grow your nails as long as you want.
Like many of the other reviews said this stuff had my nails and nail polish peeing of in layers. I'm disappointed I wasted my money and my 5 dollar extra care coupon.
Once upon a time I had great nails.I worked in a factory and yet they were long, and hard, yet flexible I was using several things at the time and didn't really remember what all seemed to make them great! So recently I had let them go and wanted to grow them again.I've been trying everything and I DO mean everything.NOTHING was working. They would get a little length on them and peel or break or I could peel them right off myself :-( I tried moisturizing daily,ProStrong proliposomes,OPI Nail Envy,Nail Tek, Nailteques,Essie Feed me.I was frustrated and asked my FB friends for help when my cousin reminded me of SH Triple Strong.I remembered I had been using that at the time and so I bought a bottle and hey,for me, this stuff just works!makes my nails strong yet flexible and grow. Thanks SH! I will never forget you again.♥ continued >>

I fortunately wound up to be one of those people who has absolutely no trouble at all growing my nails. Ever since I quit biting my nails cold turkey about 6 or 7 years ago, I've been growing my nails to daring lengths and and constantly answering random strangers' most burning question: "Are those real?!"
Unfortunately, I'm not impervious to breaks, splits, peeling, etc. Like most of us out there with really long nails, I prefer to keep mine covered for protection and a little extra strength. What's the point in having long nails if they look raggedy, right? I purchased the Sally Hansen Triple Strong with intent to use it as a base, hoping of course that it was would strengthen my nails some both while wearing it and after some continual use.
I can honestly say that I fell in love with it when I bought it. It make my nails look acrylic. The shine was phenomenal and they felt so strong that I no longer hesitated to run my fingers through my hair (an act that usually causes some snagging). The formula is a nice thick consistency and it doesn't take much product at all to cover an entire nail, even if you've got very long ones like I do. I can truly say that I suffered far less breakage to my nails during the time I was wearing this stuff consistently.
As much as I was captivated by this product initially, I don't think I'll purchase it again. I'm going to agree with some other reviewers who mentioned the brush. Sally Hansen polishes usually have very nice, wide, luxurious brushes on them. Why not this one? My second qualm is that after 2 months of owning this, the formula has become completely gooey and nearly unusable. Putting it on is a hassle because getting an even coat is impossible and I'm constantly having to break up all these annoying little strings of polish that stick to the brush and wind up hanging off of my nails. This product wasn't too expensive (I bought it for $8 at Rite Aid) but it wasn't exactly cheap either. It definitely wasn't cheap enough to get only 2 months of wear out of it when the bottle is still pretty much half full.
Now that it's become thick and gummy, it isn't worth the painstaking application and removal process. It does nothing as a base because it doesn't provide an even surface for polish. It's worthless on it's own because it's bubbly and uneven looking. It's a great product initially, but I'm sure that there's something better out there.
I have tried several nail strengthening products and this one seemed very good. My nails od not break and i have been using it for about 6 weeks now and no signs of brittleness. However, I got a little concerned when reading the reviews here but personally the product did what it promised.

1) My Nails: My nails are strong and I bought this treatment because I wanted to duplicate the look of gel nails.
2) Ingredients: This treatment has formaldehyde in it which is why I down graded it to four stars.
3) How I Use It: I have only used this product about two times, however I've applied one layer as a top coat two days after using Sally Hansen Mega Shine Top Coat. I also applied it on the edges of my nail and the back side.
4) The Results: This gel took my manicure to new levels as this is the tenth day of wear and only one nail has a chip.
5) My Opinion: I would recommend this product because it gave my manicure lasting power. Normally I would have changed my polish by now, but I had a super busy two weeks and I never like to go without polish so this product was a life saver. However, I'm going to watch my nails like a hawk because some Ladies said their nails turned brittle or started peeling when they started using this treatment. I'll update in a few months.

I've always had weak, thin nails and I figured something named ~triple strong~ would do wonders for me, or at the very least make my nails a bit stronger. It applied on easily enough and the gel effect was nice, but the polish started peeling away at the tips and at the base (I've never had a polish peel off at the base of the nail before!) within two days. I'm kind of disturbed by the layers of my natural nail that's peeled off. I don't think this product is something I'm going to wear on my bare nails anymore. And obviously, didn't make my nails any stronger.
