This is a very nice gentle cleanser.
I use it only in the am since i prefer a foaming cleanser to remove makeup pm.
I absolutely am in love with the scent of this. If any other uses know of any other products that smell similar pretty please message me.
The glass bottle is quite nice however i have to be careful with it in the shower.
Have repeated.

I bought this on a trip to NYC when my skin became very, very raw and irritated due to a reaction to a Neutrogena cleanser-- the orange-colored acne one. Odd, because I can use the green, "soothing" one with no trouble!
Anyway, a M/U artist at Fekkai Atelier used this cleanser on me, and my skin was instantly calmed, so I bought a bottle. It's been my winter skin cleanser ever since. My skin is very sensitive, with rosacea, and this has never once caused me to break out or become over-reactive, so that's an enormous plus.
I use a soft, soft washcloth with it to remove makeup, so that's never been a problem for me. It's expensive, but it lasts a long time, so cost is offset a bit.

Light scent, light cleanser, left my face feeling extremely soft and supple. I have dry skin so this cleanser was perfect. However, only after washing off with another cleanser was I able to use this. This cleanser will not wash off much, but is more suited for use between a real cleanser and moisturizer.
Not many will agree with me I see, but I certainly enjoyed the scent. It smelled light, summery and natural.

I'm not sure about this.
I sent my hubby to NM since he works downtown and it is waay too far for me to drive and he works there. Also I am scared on NM. Scared of the beautiful women who work there and that I will buy too much stuff. Anywho...
He brought it home Friday and the pump didn't work. Irritated to wait over the weekend and having a new Chantecaille product in the house calling to me I waited until Monday night anxiously.
He went back and presented it to the SA. She said, "OH! There is a secret trick" She ran with it to the back. Came back and said it didn't work. Grabbed another one from her counter. She repeated this a couple times. FINALLY she found one that did work. Apparently she says that they have this problem all the time with the pumps so if you decide to purchase this try your pump before taking it home. I probably would not purchase it online for this reason. Being that it is a glass bottle and I understand with it being botanical and needing the ingredients to stay stable it does terrify both my husband and I to keep it in the shower for fear of breaking it.
The cleanser itself does not smell good. It smells waxy and sort of hot. The first time I used it I thought our dryer was on fire downstairs and panicked. Strange being that most of Chante smells awesome like roses.
The cleanser is mild and will not burn your eyes.
It will not break you out or at least it did not me. But I did notice my pores were slightly more congested than usual. I have however used milky cleansers that were sooo greasy that you could have stored loose change in my pores. This one is not like that. It disolves almost on contact.
Good that it is mild bad that it is mild because it really is not that effective in removing makeup.
I will probably buy again until I find something better and being that it is in fact innocuous. I know I am a sucker.

As a cleanser (especially for the price that I paid for), I'm not impressed with this product at all but it hasn't made me breakout so I can force myself to live with it. Honestly, I cannot wait to finish the bottle so that I can move on to a better cleanser ... Heck, I might even ditch the bottle before I use it all up... I don't care even if I paid $50-something for it. I used the Chanel Teinte Innocence Foundation and used fifteen [15] - let me repeat that, 15 - pumps of this cleanser. Guess what? When I used my toner after, my cotton ball had lots of make up on it! I smoothed my toner on like 3 times and it still had make up on it. On the plus side, it does make my bathroom counter look nicer because of the superb packaging. The packaging is very nice.
This item is most definitely not for me.

I have used this cleanser and sad to say it is not one I would repurchase. I am in love with Chantecaille skin care, but this one is a loser IMO. When I cleanse with this my MU is not removed and my skin is left with a film on it like the cleanser was not fully washed off. It did not break me out, but was not a good cleanser at all for me. It may be a wonderful cleanser for someone with dry flaky skin.

This is a wonderful gentle cleanser, that actually treats your skin while cleansing. Great for dry or mature skin, but I have oily skin and it works with mine as well.
I do use this with the Clarisonic Brush, so it got extra assistance... I really love the Chantecaille line, and work with it in my kit as well. Yes, it's pricey - but I love it anyway!

This cleansing milk is not moisterizing enough for dry skins, it smells bad (nothing like flowers) and is very expensive. After using it, my skin was all red and irritated. Definitely try a sample before purchasing!

Ok, this is a lovely cleansing milk -- great texture, divine smell. However, it just didn't work for me, didn't make a dent in my waterproof sunscreen. It also felt good until it started burning my skin. Oh, I think cleansing milks just aren't for me.

Right. I only bought this because I was desperate, and I had read reviews from people with similar skin problems to mine who had had good results with Chantecaille... otherwise I would never ever consider spending this much money on any skin care! This is my first impression - will update after I've used the product longer.
I was a bit worried that this cleanser might not be effective in taking off makeup as some have said. (I use a separate eye makeup remover anyway so that is not an issue.) But I found that in fact a small dollop massaged into the face took off all my makeup effectively - wearing powder foundation or JI mineral makeup at the moment. For reference, here's what I did: apply cleanser and massage in - squirt with a little water if necessary & blend - take off with soft tissue or cotton wool pad - rinse with water. I tested at the end of this with toner on cotton wool and all the makeup had gone. No irritaion whatsoever. Very pleasant to use and great smell (not strong - I hate strongly scented skincare products). Is it worth the £££? Probably not but the fact it did not make my very temperamental skin go red made me think it wasn't a complete waste of money anyway! I do resent having to pay so much but at the moment my skin is not liking anything so I am really hoping this & the flower cream will sort it out... because of the inordinately expensive price, I give this a "No" and a 4 although it is a wonderful product. I just don't see why any skincare should cost that much! continued >>

Ok, here's my story, sad but true. My skin has been freaking out from using Tazorac for acne and Finacea for rosacea. All other cleansers make my skin become red, pimply and irked. I dug out a small bottle of Flower Infused Cleansing Milk that I got as a GWP and used it day and night along with my Rx skin meds and the Chantecaille Vital Essence. My skin is now soft, smooth, even-toned, not red and aggravated. I believe the simplicity of my scaled down regime in addition to this great, very gentle cleansing milk calmed down my way too sensitive skin.

This is a strnge product. It is just very soft and watery. It hardly cleanses and certainly does not remove make up. I mix it with and exfoliant so I cn feel like it serves some purpose but basically it just looks pretty next to the sink.

Ok I fell for the Chantecaille spiel hook, line and sinker(red in face). The MA assured me that Chantecaille was made especially for sensitive skin. I have uber sensitive skin w/ rosacea and I know I have probs w/ aromatic oils, botanicals, chamomile, etc and still I decided to try this line. Big mistake for my rosacea. Major flare and irritation, however my dry skin was alleviated. So if you have somewhat sturdy dry skin you might love this cleanser. Meanwhile I'm going off to review "Resisting Sales Pitches, 101."

I use this product only in the morning to refresh my face...I don't think it takes make-up off very well...the glass bottle is scary to handle with wet hands...and the pump head is so small...and it squirts out weird amounts....its thick and creamy and great as a luxury face cleansers....But to take off stubborn make-up...go for something else....

At first, I didn't think I was going to repurchase this product as it is very expensive and did not seem practical as I don't feel that it removes eye make-up well enough (I have to use a remover first) and then it just doesn't have that foaming or other texture that I'm used to in a cleanser. However it has COMPLETELY cleared up my skin like nothing I have ever used before (granted, at 31 I don't have acne prone skin anymore...but seriously EVERY little bump I had is now GONE!) The texture of my skin is smooth and I hardly have to use any foundation at all. This is the best cleanser I have ever used...now I just have to figure out a way to afford it!

Lovely scent and cleans throughly using only a tiny amount. Glass packaging kind of scares me since I use it when I shower but so far I haven't dropped it.

Very gentle, I prefer to use this in the morning (or after a makeup remover) cuz it's just not very good at removing makeup. The scent is pleasantly light and natural, since this is 90something percent botanical, I'd highly recommend this to the ladies with sensitive skin. The frosted clear glass pump bottle looks absolutely gorgeous, it just lights up your entire bathroom lol...

Chantecaille is my HG skincare. I have been using the Cleansing Milk along with the Water Flower Fluid,as well as the Jasmine and Lily Mask, and my skin looks better than it ever has before. I have skin that is dry, but ever so slightly oily in the t-zone, and I get some breakouts around my jaw and on my cheeks. This cleanser cleared everything right up. Also, as my others have noted, this does not irritate my sensitive skin (I cannot tell you how many cleansers gave me hives!). I do take off my makeup with a Shiseido cleansing cloth before using this, just to get that superclean feeling. If I don't use makeup, I just use the Chantecaille.

I have repurchased this product several times. It is wonderfully soothing and cleanses well. I use it primarily on winter dry skin. The product is expensive, but I have found it well worth it. If you have sensitive, slightly dry skin, this could be well worth a try.

I also received a sample from the NM GWP. If you have sensitive skin like me, I think you would like this, although you do need to wash your face twice to remove foundation. I really like this cleanser because it leaves my skin clean and soft, although unfortunately it comes with a high price tag of $48. In order to save product, I first remove my makeup with a bit of jojoba oil on a moisten cotton pad, and then I wash with the this.
While I think this is great for sensitive skin, my HG cleanser is Mir's Cleansing Gel, although I do still remove my makeup first with jojoba. I prefer to use a "gentle" cleanser, and this two-step process really leaves my skin soft and clean.
