A great, classic matte brown. It's super easy to blend because it's so buttery, and it's buildable depending on how intense you want the color to be (it ranges from medium to dark brown depending on how much you use). I love using this at the corner of my eyelids with pretty much any other color on the lid; it add just the right depth to my eyes but also looks natural.

This looks alot darker then it comes off to be in the pan but it's still beautful, I got this in one of the trios and when I used it in my crease and blended it well it looked pretty. I like the fact that it sheers out because I really need to be in the mood to wear darker colors in my lid I think this is going to be one of my new favorite crease colors.

I thought it would be darker, since it's called "dark" brown. I wan't impressed with the color and pigmentation at first but then I started to contour with it and I AM IN LOVE again! it has no shimmer and it is blendable. it looks great once its blended into the skin. it truly looks like a natural shadow. plus its super matte! :)

A nice matte brown. Good for blending on the socket line. Not too powdery, no fallout. A decent brown.

A matte brown, but is not 'dark' as the shade name suggests. More like a medium brown. I use it for my outer corner and to set brown pencil eyeliner. When used wet, shade looks alot darker and probably more true to the shade name. A little bit of fallout from this shade, but nothing too bad. Would probably work for light brunettes as a brow filler too since it is matte.

I love it! I use it for my outer V. I love how it's matte. Sometimes I use it all over the lid to give a hint of brown.

I see a lot of love for this product, but I didn't like it at all. I found it to be dry and chalky and not well pigmented. I like some of NYX's products, but I'm going to stay away from their shadow singles, I've not had much luck. This was returned.

I love this eyeshadow, its the perfect brown for neutral looks, or toning down a bright eyeshadow. My Holy Grail brown eyeshadow is Golden Amber by NYX, its a super dark brown with flecks of gold- but I wanted something a little bit lighter. Even though this is called 'dark brown' I would say its a medium brown, but I still love it. When I first got this in the mail, I swatched it right away and assumed it wouldn't be very pigmented, but it applies so pigmented and with no fall out. I have so many NYX shadows, and each one always impresses me- whether its a single E/S or a trio/palette.....I purchase all my NYX from Cherry Culture, which for me is a great deal since I live in Canada, and NYX is quite pricey here. For fabulous value, check out the NYX shadows :P

This eyeshadow is okay. I bought it because I was looking for an inexpensive, matte, dark chocolate brown color to use to define my "outer V." This disappointed me because, despite the name and its appearance in the pan, it is not dark brown--it is more of a medium brown color.
Fortunately, I'm pretty happy with it otherwise. It's a great crease color, and I have been able to use it as an "outer V" shade when I'm doing neutral daytime looks.
My only complaint is that it doesn't blend as easily as I'd like it to (but, this seems to be typical of matte eyeshadows--I've tried matte shadows from MAC that I have the same gripe about).

I prefer matte eyes shadows and was on the market for a everyday medium brown to use all over my lid. I bought this shade and it looked very dark in the container but once applied it looked more like a medium brown on my tan/brown skin tone. Of course for lighter skin tones, it would be too dark to use all over the lid but it would be a great crease color. I can just apply this and head right out the door.

My current favorite crease color! It's a matte Black/Brown and looks great with my skintone for reference I'm a NW/NC 25 or Light-Medium with Neutral/Beige Undertone.
I did order 2 backups of this, because I love it so much but, (see picture below) the first one is the backup and the second is my first that I fell in love with. As you can see two completely different shades, bummed but will repurchase at Ulta if they have the shade I want and it's the only place that I can purchase them in person.
UPDATE (01/01/2011) Zinc doesn't work with my skin's chemistry so sadly I had to put this up for swap.

Dark Brown is a very versatile shade ~ works on your lids and your brows. The name of the shadow explains the color perfectly. This is the perfect matte brown to add to your NYX collection...

I agree with the poster below- this makes a fabulous brow powder! I use this on my black asian brows to give a little bit more omph and it looks completely natural (NC42 skin.) It lasts for the whole day and doesn't smear or anything!
Also when applied wet it doesn't do a bad job as an eyeliner.

I got this in a swap as an extra and I LOVE it! I am in graduate school and am ALWAYS in a hurry. I have like 40 eyeshadows and this is the ONE that I reach for the most! No kidding! You have to go buy this (so cheap!!) - will go with any eye color I'm convinced.

What can I say that hasn't been said about NYX dark brown? Nada, but that's not going to stop me from writing a glowing review.
I'm a DDD/NW45 so it takes a LOT of pigmentation for a dark brown to show on brown skin. This delivers. It's dark brown but it shows up as a perfect neutral for an everyday look. Good texture and the price, $1.45 at a beauty supply store is perfect.
I've read numerous reviews about d/s shadows being grainy with no pigmentation but not true with NYX. continued >>

LOVE this. Buttery soft, extremely pigmented, easiest to blend, such a wonderful crease color/V for a brown smokey eye, and depending on how you layer it, can go from subtle to dramatic (it's matte). But what I use this for MOST of the time, is a brow filler. I have black hair, and this fills my brows in perfectly, looks so natural, and doesn't budge all day! Bought for $3.99 at a local beauty store. My, my, my NYX. You make all the h/e eyeshadows look so silly, huh?

I added another pic (right of NYX Skin e/s).
This is a dark chocolate color great for brown smokey look. I'm a C4 and needed a dark brown that would actually show up on my skin to < without it being too gray, purple or dull. continued >>
