I love this brush. I've had this brush for over two years and it still looks brand new, works the same as when I first got it and feels super soft. Absolutely no problems with the ferrule becoming loose and I deep clean once/week.Works like a dream. Occasional shedding but it's very minimal.

I bought this brush recently from the Smashbox website for half the original price and I am very glad I did. I needed a big soft brush to apply finishing powder and I got tired of the scratchy BE brush I had. This brush is very soft and works perfectely with loose powder (tried with mineral veil and MUFE HD powder) but I had to take away one lippie because both with first wash and first use it had some shedding, nothing extreme, just 2 or 3 hairs and that is ok given how much I paid but had I paid full price I would have been quite upset.

I got this brush in a limited edition set a few years ago, it is white bristled, with a clear handle. I assume they are the same thing, since it says it is the #1 brush. Needless to say, this brush is amazing quality. I've had this brush since around 2007, and it's still going strong. This was the first 'real' brush I bought when I first got into makeup. It is slightly stained, since I admit I didn't wash it as much as I should have when I first got it. But this brush has not shed ONE hair since I bought it, not one. It is so incredibly soft, dense, doesn't scratch my face, and is lasting a long time. I'm used to having to throw out brushes after about a year or so (ahem, Sigma) even with daily cleansing and weekly deep cleaning, but I can't see myself getting rid of this brush anytime soon. Since the handle on mine is clear, the handle is shot to hell with scratches, and you can barely read the name of the brush anymore (more-so due to my lack of TLC when I first purchased), but that is not what's important. I prefer this brush for blush or bronzer, as it is quite fluffy and is good for lightly diffusing product on the face. Good quality brushes will last you years, and this proves it to me after having it and all the other brushes that came in the set for the past 3-4 years. Good job smashbox.

This is such a lovely powder brush. I've had my brush for a few years and have not used it recently, but the brush is really good quality, soft and so easy to use. I used to use mine for powder and mineral foundation and the effects were great. I stooped using it because i kept trying other brushes in my quest for the best powder foundation brush... which for me is Lancome mineral foundation powder brush - AMAZING x

This is the best powder brush I've ever owned. I don't understand how there could be negative reviews for this brush!:) I love it because it is so incredibly soft and it seems to be getting even softer with age. Also, if I really swirl this brush in my powder foundation, it really holds a lot of product and disperses the powder beautifully. I'm tempted to buy another one as a back up but this one seems so well made that I'll probably never use the backup!

This brush is one of the first brushes I had purchased from Smashbox. I initially used this brush to apply my powder foundation until I bought the #19 from Smashbox. It was okay as a foundation brush, but didn't really blend in the powder foundation. Now, I use it to blend my blush in when I applied too much. Probably would not repurchase this brush due to the price and the fact that I don't have much use for it.

This was my first high quality brush ever and I still love it. The quality is amazing and the natural bristles are super soft and fluffy. This brush is so useful. It is perfect for applying bronzer, powder, or any all over face products. I've had it for like 4 years and it is still in perfect condition.

I love Smashbox brushes. The #1 was my very first high-end brush purchase. It's still in fantastic condition after 5 years but I've since bought another one just because it's so wonderful.

This is a big, soft, fluffy powder brush best for applying a light layer of powder. I personally don't use it to apply powder or mineral foundation since I prefer a more densely packed brush with shorter hairs like Alima's #25 foundation brush. Although not floppy, the longer bristles of the #1 are not very densely packed so it won't give you much control or allow you to pack on powder if you're trying to build coverage. You're better off with a dense kabuki brush if that's what you want to do. I find that this brush is best for finishing powders such as a loose setting powder or an all-over brightening powder. Basically, I use this powder to dust on powder and to blend, and it does a wonderful job.

I've had my first brush for 6 years and it still looks brand new. The red handy is just as shiny and the hairs rarely shed. When well taken care of, a high quality brush will last for a very long time so that should make plunking down all that money easier to swallow!

I LOVE THIS BRUSH!!! First, I bought my brush on e-bay for less than half of the retail price because I feel you shouldn't have to spend a fortune for a good quality make-up brush. Secondly, I have had so many irredeemable powder brushes over the years that I have made it my quest to find the ultimate powder brushes and the Smashbox Powder #1 and #19 brushes have become my HG of makeup brushes.

Third, this brush applies my mineral powders beautifully with a light, buildable coverage. Fourth, this brush has gotten softer every time I wash, condition & re-condition the brush which has helped to retain its beautiful dome shape and softness. This brush is nicely dense and I just love the look of the red lacquer wood handle which gives this brush a unique, classy and elegant look. Lastly, I hope every person who wears makeup finds a brush they love as much as I LOVE this brush. continued >>

It's an ok brush. I don't think it is worth the money I paid for it. It is soft but I don't feel that its quite dense enough to apply my powder evenly. This also sheds quite a bit after washing. Reading these reviews makes me think I may have simply gotten a bad brush but I can't be sure because at this price I won't waste my money. I may also be a bit picky because I don't care for MAC brushes either and people seem to love those. I am going back to my Ecotools brushes.

Everyone knows that one of the keys to great makeup is blending. This brush blends my powder foundation like a dream. Nothing can compare to this brush. I love this brush so much, I have two of them.

After about 6 years, I'm just on my second one. It actually got softer with age. never sheds on my face (DRIVES ME NUTS) and i use it for losose powder and bronzer and i use the tip for blushing the apples of my face. I used to work for another make up brand and when I did makeovers I used only this one for powder. i didnt care. I want to use the tools that I like! A MUST HAVE.

I absolutely love Smashbox brushes! They are not only beautiful, but well made and high quality. This is a super soft brush that I tend to use for loose powder as I am going through a liquid foundation phase. I love it! And it looks beautiful in my makeup bag. Try it!

I got this brush on sale. It's soft, but not a match to my HG Shu uemura. Anyway, it's a decent brush. It's dense and blend powder very well. I use it everyday for applying powder since it gives a more solid feeling and use my Shu for hilighter instead. It's a good brush, still if I have to pay full price to get it, I don't think I'll do that.

Really love this powder brush, my pressed powder goes on really evenly and smoothly. No more cakely patches. Very soft bristles and ideal for my sensitive skin. Quite expensive though, but worth every cent.
