Love this. HG! I had to order this from overseas, but it was worth it. A true classic. I use truly fair. It turns my oily uneven complexion into flawless perfection in seconds and lasts. My husband likes the way it looks on me. It lasts and lasts. Great coverage. So retro scent and packaging. Use a different sponge.
This product is awful. All the other colors are too dark and orangy wich is why i treid the translucet one. It lookes very "made up" on my skin and it has a horiible perfumey granny scent to it wich stays on the skin. Also the packaging is unpracktical and looks cheap. The only good thing is the staying power (5 hours wich is quite good on my oily skin), wich is why i give it 2 lippies and not 1. Will not repurchase.
I really like this product, I have normal skin and this goes on nicely and sets my M.A.C foundation really well! I have it in translucent and it really is translucent, it keeps oil at bay for a while. There are downsides though... the writing on the packaging comes off really easily and if the product is applied with the puff it goes on very cakey. You do get a lot for you money though and the smell doesn't really bother me as you can't smell it when it's on your face. Although it's one of the best drugstore ones the high end powders do a much better job at making your skin look matt.
i am suprised of the negative reveiws of this great stuff
I got this powder on #81 truely fair the lightest shade
and after trying many pressed powder from so many brands
i can assurs you this stuff is best . full coverage never caky or
chalky cheap price oil control what else do you want from a pressed powder
however . I have normal skin so I can't judge how it works on
other skin types
the selection of colors is also limited as the lightest shade is
still darker than my skin tone

OMG the smell of this makes my eyes sting! I loved the idea of a cheap all in one foundation that I could carry around for touchups.I got the lightest shade and its way too pink! Looks more like an all over beauty powder or something, goes on ok but can look cakey.BUT its the smell I cant stand, its a strong perfumey smell and its awful. So I wont be using this, such a shame but never mind.
What a disaster! I thought I had found a bargain - a way to touch up and mattify during the day at no great expense. I think this is meant to be fragrance free but the first thing that struck me when I opened the product was the smell of old ladies' talc and, funny enough, talc is one of the first ingredients listed. This looked heavy and cakey when applied - either using the puff supplied or using a brush. Within days I had a major outbreak of spots - sore and inflamed spots all over my face! (And I don't really get spots aprt from the odd hormonal one!). This works for some people, but not for me and I won't be repurchasing. Disappointing as Max Factor has so many other good products.
This is a decent powder. I have it in translucent and on my usually fair but now slightly tanned skin it really is translucent. I only apply it on my t-zone and I can't tell where I put it and where I didn't (color-wise). It doesn't oxidize on me, though I've never had a product do that on me. What I like most about this powder is it's consistency. It is a powder but it doesn't feel or look powdery at all, it feels kind of creamy and it gives me an airbrushed finish. Nice.
It does an OK job at keeping oiliness at bay. It does keep them away for a while but not nearly all day. I'd say 2-3 hours. It's not terrible, but I've had powders perform better in this department.
What I dislike about this powder is it's heavy perfume. I've never come across a make-up product that smells this heavily. The perfume isn't even nice, it smells like grandma make-up. It lingers for a little while but then it dissappears. I don't have anything against perfumed cosmetics in general and it doesn't irritate my skin, but this smell is just unneccesary overwhelming so I am taking a lippy off for this.
The price is alright. It's not cheap, but also not expensive.
The packaging is alright aswell, it's functional but nothing special. The puff that comes with it is crap but I use a kabuki brush anyway.
Overall nice powder that is really translucent (on me anyways) and that gives a nice airbrushed finish. The staying power is average. This is not for people who don't like perfumed cosmetics.
Edit: Meh, taking off another lippy for the smell. It's just so strong that I don't want to use this product anymore - it's literally giving me a headache. That is the only reason I will not finish up this product and not buy it again. Such a shame, it is a nice powder but I really can't stand it, especially since there's so many alternatives. I'm not going to completely rate it down because of the smell, as scent is highly subjective and if you can stand it then this is a nice powder.
this is my favourite powder i have been using it for years, i love the powdery smell, i love the coverage it gives and i stay matte all day. i do think they could bring in a few more colours but apart from that is brilliant!
This is ok.... but it's not great. It's very pale but when I checked out some other powder products they were just as bad. It sort of sits on your face. It has quite a nice smell, but it's not too strong. The packaging is very poor, not very imaginative and on mine the lettering faded, not what you'd expect from a max factor product. I don't rate it very high, but I guess I'd probably buy it again anyway because it's the best one I've discovered, as some of the maybelline and revlon powders are too powdery if you get me! I use it over my regular foundation to cover up any blemishes.
I have this in Translucent (#05).
It's an OK powder, it's not to talcy --more "creamy" and goes on nicely. That's the only good thing I can say about this powder.
The puff is terrible, awful, cheap...I apply it with a brush.
The smell is a bit strong too, it reminds me of old-style powders (it has that grandma smell).
It doesn't really cover anything when applied alone (not supposed to anyway) and doesn't last all day. It's good to set foundation, or alone if you are up to reapplying every couple of hours.
I'm sure there are better compact powders out there.
