This was an okay lipstick.
It is a matte, kind of a more darker pink, mauve color and i really like the color
Here's the downside: It is SO dry. If you wear this with chapped lips then you will die. And i don't think it's that pigmented either.
But i like the scent of it, im pretty sure you can't really tell, but I can smell this really light lime scent of it LOL idk

I am having a new love affair with Nars lipsticks. Catfight was one of four that I had a friend get me from Sephora. Of the four, it is probably my least favourite mostly because of the formula.
I agree with everyone else that the formula is very, very dry. I find it impossible to put on my lips by itself. To use I have to put on something like clear babylips, then catfight and then more babylips.
The colour in itself is quite nice and looks lovely with my fair skin/blonde hair. I often find it hard to wear neutral/browny lipsticks because they wash me out. I don't know how better to describe it but this one is pinky/mauve but with a definited beige-y undertone. It was more neutral and darker than I expected from the tube & website. It suits me quite well. It is understated and elegant and it definitely wasn't bad. Even so, I would probably not purchase again unless they changed the formula and I suspect that there might be similar colours in the Nars range that suit me just as well with a better feel. continued >>

My absolute fav lipstick of all time. As in, can't live w/o it.
It's a cool mauve pink. Sophisticated & just the right point between natural & made up. Gorgeous on me, a pale Asian.
Yeah it can be drying, but I don't find that a problem. (Just exfoliate/moisturize more!) I think anything more moisturizing would decrease the incredible lasting power of this. I have found no other lipstick to last as long on my lips.
Please don't ever discontinue this... continued >>

Catfight is a beautiful dusty mauve color however it is super drying. Make sure you exfoliate your lips before wearing. This color is also not unique. I have a cheap L'oreal lipstick which is a close dupe and cheaper. I'm returning this.

This seemed like such a nice colour in store, but once I went home and actually applied this stuff on my lips, the honeymoon ended. This stuff is extremely drying. It almost hurts to drag the lipstick across your lips. I wanted a matte (or semi-matte) lipstick that was still moisturizing so I decided to pay the premium for a NARS lipstick since their formulation is supposed to be super moisturizing or whatever. Meh. Wish I hadn't wasted my money on this. (I do like Dolce Vita though, much smoother and feels better on the lips. My hunt for a moisturizing matte lipstick continues.)

I just got my first NARS lippie and I think this one is overrated. I love the packaging. But even the semi matte is not highly pigmented, but slightly frosted - I can't really put this on easily without having lip balm as a base, too dry! Catfight is obviously not the best pink. I think MAC's Faux is way better.
In short, with the price, I'm disappointed!

i just bought this from Sephora. You know as soon as I got in the car, I put this on. It is sooooooooo dry I could barely get it to cover my lips! bleh! honestly I was so excited to get this product but it so dry i feel like it is just gonna flake off. I am so in love with the color and the packaging of course, but I'm not sure if this is a keeper or not...

I am in love with NARS lipsticks.
loving the name of the colours, the urban and small packaging with no finger stain, great colour selection for my skin tone ..etc etc
I wouldn't say they are the best. Indeed Nars lipsticks are all a bit dry to me. but since I prefer matte, I can't complain too much about this problem.
Catfight is one my favorite pinky taupe colour I have every tried. It makes me looking very girly but in a way sophiscated. As mentioned, it is quite dry but it is not too bad if you put primer first.
the colour is actually very similar as Bangkok from Nars pure matte and Sex Machine from Velvet Matte pencil. sex machine is the darkest, then catfight and bangkok is the palest one.
I own 3 of them and I would say Bangkok is the best colour on me
but for the price and value, go for catfight if you also like this kind of colour.

This is my first NARS Lipstick, but not my first NARS product. I have light-medium skin but with medium-dark berry lips (almost purple), so this lipstick didn't show up particularly well on my lips. However, I did like the color. I think it only went on smoothly when I put chapstick or a lip primer on beforehand. It lasted awhile, about 6-8 hours with no touch-ups. I liked it as a product, the only reason I wouldn't repurchase it is because it isn't the color for my lips. I kept it though because its a pretty mauve-pink with blue undertones. I believe it is a Satin Finish (don't quote me on that) and it can come off as a little sheer on the lips. This would not be suitable for darker lips. I think it is appropriate with anyone for fair-light skin who doesn't like drawing lots of attention to their lips.

Great cool toned pink lipstick with purple undertones. Very pretty and long wearing though a little drying. I get lots of compliments when I wear this lipstick. Would recommend if you love pink.

First buy of NARS lipstick and I do love it! The color is just fabulous. The staying power is way better than anything else that I've tried. However, the only downside, as the previous reviewer mentioned, is that it's extremely drying. I have a hard time dragging it along my lips and it's not as creamy as I thought it'd be. I have to put a light layer of clear lip balm to apply the lipstick. I will repurchase though because the color is just beautiful and the staying power is superb to any other lipstick I've tried.

If you have very fair (Irish) skin like I do, like wearing pinkish/rose shades of lipstick, and you have very thin lips, or lips that you otherwise don’t want to draw tons of attraction to, this is a really good lipstick.
First off…the formulation: this is creamy and rich without being overly-slick or slippery. It is thick enough to stay on for a decent amount of time.
The color: it’s a very muted pink…so muted it’s almost a whitish pink frost. It’s great for thin lips because the color almost ‘masks’ your lips, while at the same time giving a hint of pink color and a slight frost.
This color is may work well with other skin tones too, but obviously I can’t speak to that. I’m just saying that in my instance, it works really well.

I am a huge fan of Catfight. I've gone through 4 or 5 tubes since first buying it several years ago during a NARS makeup event.
I will agree that it's a little drying but the color on my lips is so worth it. Like another reviewer said, just use a lip primer or apply a colorless gloss or balm to your lips before applying.

Not a huge fan of NARS lippies, this is one of the more nicer colours to me. A nice laidback pink colour. Colour wise it reminds me a little of faux from MAC but more mauvy (therefore not as nude). Nice colour that i can wear daily & look complementing on the lips.

The formula is a little drying though. Although helps to stay put - you kind of need to drag it through your lips a few times to get the full colour payoff. I'm a little concerned that the dragging can stretch my lips & cause premature wrinkling on my lips. Later in the day, I have slight dry pieces on my lips.

However, over all it's a great colour: My favourite by NARS =) continued >>

This is another MLBB for me -- it is a rosy/mauvey skin toned lippie which is semi matte. I love the semi matte's cause they are long lasting on my lips.
The trick to this is you must use a lip balm underneath and then again on top if you are not using a gloss.
I used this color a lot last year when my hair was in the blonde period.. I did not try it since the Red changes and had almost forgotten it. I tried this on again today and used a very very light rose blush and it looked perfect.
At my age, and with all the products I use on others, I sometimes forget to try things on myself.
This taught me a lesson -- I must be more adventurous with my makeup and not fall into the cliches of red hair or blonde hair.
It works if I want it to!

A very generous NARS MA picked out this color for me and gave it to me free when I bought my first NARS blush. It's a great everyday color on me, just a bit darker than my lips, and very pigmented so it lasts a long time. It's a little dry, but I wear lip primer under it.

Others below have described the color very well. I do see the golden shimmer which makes the pink a little warmer and I think more versatile. There is also an orange blossom fragrance to the lippie which I really like. Others could find it offensive if they are not fond of the fragrance. I really do hate NARS' packaging, just because in Hawaii, the salt air really melts the rubbery packaging after awhile and makes it so sticky you don't want to touch it! The color payoff is really good and because it's a semi-matte the wear is really long. Overall, I'm very happy with this one.

I think I got some type of fluke tube on this, because it was AWFUL! I don't like to try on lipsticks at the store, so I just rub a little on my index finger and hold it up. It felt smooth & creamy, and I loved the color. However, when I got it home, it went on like CHALK. My lips are a little on the dry side, but this showed every single line and crease. From other reviews, I honestly question if I got a faulty tube, but i'm going to be returning this and certainly won't purchase again. continued >>

This is my new everyday lippie andit was totally worth the money. It's pretty pricey about $30. It's a lovely matte finish and I usually top it off with MAC Nymphette, makes the peachy coral totally pop. I now have a thing for NARS lipstick and I will be buying one NARS lippie a month. The staying power is amazing and I use IMAN's lip pencil in expresso. I have used it in my FOTN in my profile pic. It's gorgeous and ladies of color NARS is definetly WOC friendly check them out and get at least onbe NARS color you should start with thsi one..my next one will be Funny Face! Love it, my HG everyday nuetral lippie! I would buy this again!

Catfight was a pleasant surprise. I had swatched it once before in Sephora and automatically dismissed it. After reading more reviews I decided to give it another go. If you are warmer toned and swatch this, this is one of those lipsticks, that like me, you may dismiss right off the bat, fearing it's all wrong for your skintone. If you can get past that initial instinct, sanitize, and apply on your lips, this is one that will definitely make it to the checkout line at Sephora. :)
It's described as a semi matte nude mauve which is a pretty accurate description. It's absolutely beautiful on. I'm neutral-warm toned w/ strong yellow undertones, NC30-35ish, Shell in Chanel, #3 in GA face fabric, 127 in MUFE HD, 32 in MUFE f & b. It's a little different from my typical day to day lipstick but by no means is it unnatural or OTT on the lips! :) continued >>
