this is my second try at these lipskins, and i really wanted to love them! alas, the formulation is divine but the 2 shades i've tried just haven't worked.
the formulation: super moisturizing like a balm, slightly berry smelling, easy to apply (even without a mirror) due to the sheer color. love all of this. must confess, i don't like the $19.50 price tag, but i was willing to overlook this because i love balm-like sheer lippies.
in the case of breathe, it is a flat sheer beige color which looks a little orangy on my lips. i really like brown and beige-toned lippies, but this looks old ladyish on me. this color tone is unflattering on me, as was smile, and i'm still working to put my finger on why. breathe just looks flat, as if i swiped on a matte beigey-brown eyeshadow stick on my lips. Note: I am between LLL & FFF, strawberry blond with blue eyes, truly neutral (not cool or warm). Can see my pics in my profile.
bottom line: try these, but don't be surprised if you have to return them. they are available in stores on a very limited basis or online at sephora and beauty.com.

This is a very expensive but exceptionally nice tinted lipbalm.
Breathe is a sheer tawny shade, like a sheerer VL Nude lip stain in depth and tone, but a little more subdued.
The stick is harder than most sheer lipsticks that I've tried. It's more of a sheer gel-balm than a sheer cream. Application is virtually foolproof, with or without mirror. The berry scent is subtle enough that it doesn't bug me (so glad that this doesn't smell like vanilla!) I can tell that this will be a staple.
I'm not crazy about the packaging. The tube is a weird white with violet iridescence. I'd rather have a plain black tube, or even clear plastic. The white just looks a little hokey to me. (And I hate the colour purple, so that doesn't help.) I'll gladly put up with an ugly tube for this balm, though, and I would much rather have it in stick form than in a pot. continued >>
