As a child, I grew up in Australia and I never wore sunscreen. Now at 22, living in Canada, I can feel my skin paying for the price for my childhood. I have dry skin -dry to the point where i can get flaky when I stop using my skincare. About a year ago, I was introduced to Aveda's products. I chose to use their tourmaline exfoliating cleanser (which works great by the way to get rid of any flakiness) with their enbrightenment correcting creme. This moisturizer glides onto your face which keeps your skin moisturized ALL DAY. It's made of shea butter and aloe. The aroma isn't heightening like other reviewers have mentioned; in fact, i find it quite mild.Without this moistrizer i break out, i get flaky and my skin looks dull. I also have scarring from a little bit of acne that i used to get in high school on my temple and this creme has diminished it. I would never recommend this moisturizer for someone with oily skin because it is Aveda's most intensive and moisturizing creme they have. It does cost 65 dollars, but it's worth it every penny.

I LOATHE AVEDA! I loathe this product even more! I am so angry with how cheap this moisturizer is. Firstly it costs about 65 bucks Canadian, and THAT IS INSANLEY ridiculous. Secondly, the product itself is garbage. It doesn't bright at all, it doesnt even MOISTURIZE at all, it contains sticky, pore-clogging oils, the fragrance is SO INTENSE and overwhelming my skin became red, pathcy and I thought I had dermatitis!!! I FELT SO CHEATED WITH THIS GARBAGE PRODUCT. It causes breakouts, it contains very bad oil and the texture is like crisco! It makes you greasy and sticky and pimply! It does not brighten! Worthless pile of garbage! DONT BUY IT! If you are thinking of buying it..DONT! I am screaming it right now while I am typing!!! DONT purchase this!!!

As others have noted, this is a part of a two step process, but I've just been using the moisturizer on it's own. It doesn't have a sunscreen in it, so I've only been using it at night. It's non-greasy, but very moisturizing. I like the light texture of it, and the fact that it really seems to moisturize while absorbing quickly into your skin instead of sort of sitting on top of it. After 2 weeks of using this product only at night, I can really feel a difference in the softness of my skin, and my skin is noticeably clearer and brighter. It's a bit on the pricey side, but one pump of the product covers my whole fact adequately, so this should last quite awhile.
All in all, I'm really happy with the results I've gotten and will definitely repurchase. I am so happy with it that I am thinking of purchasing the serum as well to see if that makes even more of a difference. I only wish this came in a version with sunscreen, as the texture of it and it's easy absorbtion would make it the perfect under-makeup moisturizer.

This is part of a two step process, however I it's good just by itself. It's a light moisturizer that feels good to put on, but doesn't do anything for flakiness.

I have never before been a fan of Aveda's skin care line. I think there is, generally speaking, way too much fragrance and some highly questionable ingredients for folks who have sensitive skin (and I count myself in this catagory). That being said, however, I have really enjoyed the samples I received of the brightening moisture treatment. Though the first time I put it on it stung a bit and I woke up with a few irritable bumps the next morning, after the second night of using this (in conjunction with the brightening "serum"), I woke up with incredibly soft skin and have woken up as such ever since. I do find the need to put another moisturizer on top of it on my cheeks, which is somewhat disheartening for the amout of money this product costs. Though I don;t see a "brightening" effect, I love how my face now feels and I will certainly purchase both brightening products when my samples run out. I also have to add that I am very thankful for the lack of strong fragrance it it.

The second half of a two-part brightening system from Aveda. I use the Brightening Essence (part one, a serum) and the Brightening Moisture Treatment in the morning, under makeup. I think the products work well together and I am noticing a clearer, brighter complexion with a bit of a glow! Although the moisture treatment is a non-oily moisturizer, it's just *slightly* heavier than what I'd ideally like, but not bad enough to make me want to give it up! I have fairly oily skin though, so we'll see if I change my mind when the warmer months come around. Still though, it is a nice, light moisturizer and by no means overly heavy or greasy. No sunscreen though - boo for that. $40 for 2.5 oz.
