It does make hair a bit more shiny, yes, but the effect isn't long-lasting, which is kind of disappointing. My hair is really nice and shines for about 2 hours and then the shine this spray gives is gone. Not cool. Pro: 1) does smell nice, orange-vodka would be my bluntest guess, but it's not bad; 2) does not weight hair down, even when I spray the hell out of it; 3) takes any frizz away. for about 2 hours. Contra: 1) the shine does not last; 2) using it every day dries hair out a bit, it's probably all the alcohol. Point is: there are so many so much better shine products out there, this one is not the greatest. But it's nice.
My old hairstylist used this on my hair wet before he blew it dry. I have very fine hair and little of it as well and this is a great product as it does not weigh it down and keeps it smooth and silky. I think the SD alcohol 40 adds body - some people won't like this ingredient as it can dry hair out. But back in the day it was in a lot of volume products and it works well to fluff up hair. The price is kind of steep but I think this is a great product.
Sorry to be a downer but this is such an ordinary product. Pros are that it's a very fine mist so you can evenly distribute the product. Another pro is that it's a spray, period. This is really just the spray version of any basic silicone serum (thought most spray out too heavy). All in all I found this to be a bit greasy and it did weight my hair down a bit. It worked ok if applied to damp hair but sorta awful if used on dry hair. I gave it to one of my teen daughters and she wasn't impressed either.

Considering the price, I don't see any noteworthy shine-lending qualities.
The only shine ingredients are hemp seed oil and alcohol. The former causes the hair to become greasy and coated and the latter causes the hair to be zapped of moisture.
For a good at home shine rinse, combine equal parts of lemon juice and ice water and strain (to remove seeds and pulp). Make sure to put that on AFTER you shampoo and condition.

This spray goes on super light on my thick, wavy, color-treated hair. I know a lot of reviews say that a little goes a long way, but honestly it NEVER weighs my hair down yet gives me incredible shine. I wish the shine it gives me would last longer, as I always have to respray since it is THAT light.
OMG!!! this spray give my hair really shine!!

as long as you keep in mind that a little goes a long way, this is a great product. i love everything that i have tried by alterna, and most of my hair products are alterna. they are a little pricey; i am able to buy them at an industry store and therefore pay half of the retail price-id recommend getting them from a reliable ebay seller to save money.
Better than hair spray, leaves a gentle hold with great shine. hair looks healthy and yet touchable. Not sticky.
Adds natural shine , dosen't look greasy. Love the smell. Sometimes I spray it on when my hair is still wet and it prevents my hair from getting frezzy thru out the day.
I have tried all of the shine sprays out there and the Alterna Hemp Seed Shine Spray is definitely one of the better ones out there. It leaves my hair shiny, without weighing it down or leaving it greasy. And the smell- I just love it! It smells very light and fruity, almost like lemon pez. :)
