I have been through so many tubs of this stuff. I have completely lost track of the number. But it's not my HG - I haven't found that yet. I'll go through the pros and cons. My lips are very dry and they chap easily. I exfoliate them several times weekly.

Pros
Soothing - if lips are so dry it's become painful this will ease the pain.
Smoothing - formula smooths out the lips and flaking lips will take on a smooth appearance a few mins after application.
SPF - and it is an effective SPF. As someone who has actually experienced sunburnt lips I consider a high SPF essential.
Pot - means you can use all of the product. I circumvent any hygiene issues by making sure I always was my hands before applying, never re-dip a finer and never share it with anyone.
Finish - gives a wet look effect without shimmer. I have lips with a naturally deep colour so I don't feel like I am wearing this product at the expense of my look.

Cons
Smell - like a hospital. Vile.
Taste - like it smells. Vile. Like sucking on a vaseline lollipop soaked in dettol. (On the other hand, these clinical stinks do reinforce the message that it's working.)
Smoothing - formula frankly produces a burning sensation on the lips. Also that constant stretching of the skin cannot be good for it and I'm sure that constant use will loosen the skin on my lips over time and make fine lines a bigger problem than they have to be. (A recent realisation; I have cut down on using it lately for this reason.)
Superficial solution - not actually getting moisture into the lips, just smoothing their surface.
Packaging - tracks on the lid poorly designed. It is way too easy to close the lid on this product in such a way that it's impossible to get it off ever again.
Effect on skin other than lips - creates bumps around the lipline sometimes. Like blackheads on steroids or something? Don't quite know what they are but they're not good.

So, yeah, more pros than cons. But, methinks, beware long term high-frequency use.

Love this lip conditioner! I put this on every night before bed & throughout the day in winter when the cold drys my lips out. I paid 90p for this in Tesco when it was on offer. YES 90p! I bought this because it reminded me of living in Hawaii as a child. I loved it then but now I think otherwise. It seems unsanitary to stick my fingers in a pot. I do love the smell and texture. I swear if I wear it overnight I wake up feeling very ill and I have the poops. I finished up the rest of the product as a dab on type of perfume behind my ears because I love the smell so much.

The best lip balm ever! Could hardly survive without it. It's the only thing that heals my dry, cracked lips. And for that price.. But other Blistex lip balms are not as effective, this one really helps.

I used to use this lip-balm religiously before I discovered Lucas Paw Paw Ointment, so that has become my HG lip-balm, but this isn't too bad. If you have relatively dry lips this will do a decent job and has a nice menthol scent and cooling sensation when you apply it. Only thing that I don't like is the packaging. I prefer tubes or sticks since they are more hygienic and since I have long nails, makes getting the product out a bit more difficult.

This stuff is awesome!! I'm on my third pot now, its dirt cheap and amazingly good :) I love using this stuff as a lip buff as well as everyday balm. I would slather a thick layer on once a week and leave it for about 5-10 minutes, wipe it off and the use a towel softly buff away the dead skin; its amazing at melting it away and leaving your lips juicy :P and everyday balm its pretty good, much better than any of the other blistex products in my opinion. As for packaging, the compactness is nice but it's crappy really.. I always have to poke it out with my nail (like scooping it but the other way) and well... I guess i just prefer my balm on the balls of my fingers; not a huge biggie. definitely repurchase!

Recently rediscovered this from my old make up bag and I really don't know why I stopped using it! It's soo creamy and soft on the lips, really moisturising and when left overnight makes my lips lovely in the morning! Will not be wasting money on any other balms from now on!

I absoutely LOVE this product. A must have staple in my makeup bag especially for colder months. Keeps my lips nice and soft and stops them from flaking. Have purchased this over and over again and will continue too. :)

I love this lip balm! It is a must have for me. Keeps my lips super soft and moisturised and has a nice tingly feeling when applied. Perfect for winter especially when my lips get quite dry. Has a nice thick texture and have brought this many times and will continue to buy this again when I run out. Smells really good too, has a hint of menthol.

i have purchased this product again and i had been using it for 6 years straight. i don't use it anymore just because i have acrylic nails and i cant put my finger in it.
smoothes my lips out and i like the tingly sensation that it makes me feel when i put it on.
i like pawpaw ointment on me now. i gave this a 4 because i loved it for so long.

I can't live without my Blistex! Always with me wherever I go. I love it so much! Plus it smells really nice, which is always a plus.

I. Love. Blistex. Blistex lip conditioner is just amazing, it has SPF, which may not sound like a big deal, but the sun can do so much damage to your lips. It is so moisturising, it sinks in to my lips, and it makes my lips look fuller and in great condition. It's not too slick or sticky, perfect consistency on the lips. I don't mind that it comes in a pot, but it does prevent me from using it at work and when I feel like my hands are dirty (even though I use hand sanitizer!). I think the pot form makes it easier to monitor your usage, and sometimes I even use it on my nose when it's dry, or on my cuticles. I've tried other items in the Blistex range that come in tubes and sticks, but nothing compares to this specific product. During winter when my lips are especially dry, I do use Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour cream too, but Blistex is my staple lip balm. I've tried more expensive lip balms and treatments (and I find it necessary to say that this product RULES over Lucas' Paw Paw stuff!), but I always come back to Blistex. Excellent value for money, and I will definitely be buying this product again and again and again.

emm theres nothing totally terrible but nothing too great about this. i sorta felt like it sat on my lips rather then moisturizing them. wont buy again.

I used to love this product when it was still SPF 15 but now I've used this SPF 20 version 5 times in the last 3 months and everytime I used it I get this rash on my lips! Painful and annoying! Too bad because I still haven't found a better lip balm!

Everybody needs to know how wonderful this lip balm is!! It is moisturising, heals cracked and chapped lips, and has SPF. There are times when I get sidetracked and forget about this, while trying other lip balms. But when I get horribly sore lips, and the other lip balms I try just don't cut it, I come back to this and it heals them so fast! I always have soft lips after using this. My only gripe is that it is in a pot, I would love for this to be in a tube so I don't have to use my fingers. Anyway, this is my HG and seriously one of the items I would take to a desert island!!

OK, I am obsessed with lip balms and have tried so many I can't recall them all. THIS IS THE BEST. The obvious stuff: great SPF, soothing, moisturising, perfect texture and consistency, cheap! Added unexpected benefit: IT PLUMPS MY LIPS! It tingles slightly and after about 5 minutes my lips are fuller and pinker. I've basically given up on lipstick, other balms and Juicy Tubes because nothing makes my lips look and feel better than this cheap, wonderful product.

I love this product... i have been using it consistently for over 8 years now! I normally have 1 in my makeup bag, one in my handbag & one at my desk at work! I HATE this prouduct. I thought that i would just try it out because... idk, i was board. So when I did use it, my lips just started peeling, and i had to start exfoliating them more than usual. Do Not buy this prouduct
CARMEX FOR LIFE!!!

As a person mentioned, this contains phenol and not only is this toxic: it removes the top layer of the skin on your lips (look it up ;) ). This means your lips tend to rely on re-application of the product in hope of getting them soft and supple.
That, mixed with menthol, really dried out my lips - so i started using more of this. Only until i read the ingredients did i realise that this was something i dont really want to be ingesting (and generally im not fussy!) but most of all this just doesn't work for me.
It keeps my lips in that stage in the middle of cracked and healing, leaving me with very dry lips that was in need of constant 'moisturization'.
So in my honest opinion, all the above reasons mixed with an unhygenic pot really makes this something you'd probably not want to buy. There are so many better things that are the same price and that actually work, so its best to steer clear of this one.. avoid the 'downward spiral' and try something else! ;)

I use this one in the morning right after brushing my teeth and it lasts me until I get to work, finish my coffee and put on some lipstick. It has staying power for me and really protects my lips from the elements.
