I started using this product after finding out there was St. John's Wort Oil in Aubrey's Vegecol face cleanser. I read somewhere that St. John's Wort can decrease the effectiveness of birth control pills, and I didn't want to take any chances so I decided to give Aubrey's Rosa Mosqueta cleanser a try. I don't care for the smell of this product. It's too florally and has a sort of rubbing alcohol scent mixed in. It removes my make-up well enough, but at times it leaves my very sensitive skin feeling a bit irritated and looking a little red. This product might be more suited for someone without sensitive skin.
INGREDIENTS: Coconut Fatty Acid Cream Base, Natural Grain Alcohol, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein (made from organic, non-GMO soybeans), Deionized Water, Sea Herbal Complex (Bladderwrack, Laminaria), Aubrey's Preservative (Citrus Seed Extract, Vitamins A, C and E), Castile Soap, Organic Rosa Mosqueta Rose Hip Seed Oil, Horse Chestnut Extract, Vitamin A, Inositol, Linoleic Acid (Vitamin F), Calcium Pantothenate, Biotin.
Vegan. No animal testing. And gluten free.

I really wanted to like this, but it made me breakout horribly. My skin is very dry and not particularly reactive, so I thought it could tolerate the coconut oil in this cleanser, but I was wrong. Too bad, because it definitely helped with the dryness.
The smell isn't too terrible, but it isn't pleasant either.

Great cream cleanser for dry/ dry combination skin. Blend a little water with the cream before application to face - washes off well and leaves the skin really smooth. Works well as a morning cleanser or on no make up skin, as it does not wash make up off well. I didn't like the Rosa Mosqueta face cream but love this cleanser....almost as much as my Cetaphil.

I love cleansing milks and cleansing creams and this is a really nice idea but it just does nothing! It doesn't remove makeup, it doesn't cleanse the oils on the skin, but it doesn't dry out the skin and it doesn't irritate which is a good thing. It is creamy with a medium strength scent. Since this is the most moisturizing facial cleansing cream in the Aubrey Organics line it has the least alcohol, oh its still there but there's not much of it. Remember to shake the bottle vigorously before every use because the product can separate, not a good idea when you're in the shower. I really hate that clip top dispenser, does nothing to keep the bottle tidy and neat. If the formulation had more plant oils rather than so much coconut fatty acid cream base I'm sure it would remove makeup.

I thought this smelled okay. However, since this product is mostly made of coconut oil it will really clogs your pores. I actually ended up going to a dermatologist over the effects of this cleanser. So no, I will not be buying this product again.

My mom is an acupuncturist who specializes in facial rejuvenation, so we're always comparing all natural skin care/cosmetics. She had tried using Aubrey's Rosa Mosqueta line on her clients, with less than fabulous results. I decided to try the cleansing cream on my super reactive sensitive skin, just to give it a whirl. Within 5 seconds of application, my skin began to sting. I went ahead and finished cleansing my face, thinking maybe the sting indicated a 'deep cleanse.' Nope. I got out of the shower and had a red inflamed face for the next 30 min. I looked at the ingredients again, and saw that it contains grain alcohol. Why would you ever put grain alcohol in a product that is designed for dry & sensitive skin?! By the next morning, my skin was dried out and flaky, despite using a soothing moisturizer. It's been a week now, and I've almost gotten rid of the deeply dry, scaly patches that ONE use of this cleansing cream caused! For all their organic ingredients, Aubrey's products overall seem to be subpar and overpriced, and more drying/irritating than any sulfate product I've used in the past. continued >>

This is a good, creamy cleanser that does not dry out my skin. I am recovering from a bout of dermatitis and this does not cause my skin to become red or itch. It is heavily fragranced, though, and contains alchohol, so it was a rather unlikely choice during a time of irritation, but I remembered how much I liked Aubrey skin care in the past and wanted to give it another try. (And I saw a pic of myself with great skin and remembered I was using Aubrey). I am so glad I did. My skin type is very dry and sensitive, and the Rosa Mosqueta line and the other line with Sea Buckthorn and Cucumber are very nice for me.
Pros: natural ingredients, silky/creamy texture, easily rinses clean, non stripping, cheaper than some other natural brands.
Cons: you will need a makeup remover first. The scent, while pleasant, is strong. Possible variations batch to batch, which was why I switched from Aubrey in the past. Because of the natural ingredients, some may experience sensitivity to an ingredient.
Good news is, if you want to try it, they offer their travel sets (cleanser, toner, moisturizer plus a few trial size packets) on their website for less than 10 dollars

Great cleanser for dry skin but not ideal for removing even light makeup.

I do like this product but i doesn't remove makeup very well. It's best to use this if you're not wearing much foundation. I use mineral sunblock and i have to rub the cleanser in for a while before rinsing, and even then i would still have some residue around my nose, but i just use a facial towel to wipe it off. The smell that everyone is talking about is the alchohol. the ingredients state that there is 'natural grain alchohol' in it. It's not too bad though. It rinses off leaving the skin feeling moist and not dry at all. Great for low maintanence regimes.

Oh dear, the smell is violent! It made me feel sick and gave me a terrible headache. The product might be great, but I cannot use it. I do use (and like) some other Aubrey products, so I was prepared for an interesting 'scent', but this is beyond belief.

The smell is unbearable! This product does not deliver just like the moisturizer it left my skin irritated.

This cleanser is great for dry skin. I almost don't need to moisturize after using it. It also has a really fresh light scent. I would not recommend it for oily or acne prone skin.

I have very sensitive skin that reacts unfavorably to most products. It is prone to flare-up of old red spots (rosacea/old acne scars) and breakouts when it doesn't like something, which is usually most everything. I do like Aubrey stuff, and tried their Vegecol line which was for sensitive skin, and also tried the Sea Buckthorn which some people said was good for rosacea. Those things weren't bad for me, but didn't do anything really either. So I tried this Rosa Mosqueta cleanser, and my skin looked radiant and even toned!! The red discolorations have faded remarkably with this Rosa Mosqueta line (unless I do something to irritate them; they haven't totally vanished). I started with this cleanser and had such success that I added the moisturizer, then the toner.
This Rosa Mosqueta line works perfectly for me with no reaction. It leaves my skin a very soft, even texture and look. The cleanser alone doesn't remove makeup really; it may look like the makeup is gone, but when I swab a cotton ball with toner on my face, I can see a lot of makeup left. So first I use an olive oil soap (Kiss My Face) because olive oil is a good makeup remover, then I use this cleanser afterward to get the even tone and glow.

I bought this because I'm in the market for an organic cream cleanser for the shower. This was filmy and hard to rinse off. What up with that? I'm now using Frownies cleanser.

This is an absolutely fabulous cleanser for dry skin. I like to let my cleanser concentrate on removing dirt and impurities, not just remove makeup, so I use unscented baby wipes to remove my makeup or Aubrey's herbal makeup remover first. This cleansing cream is very gentle to my skin and leaves it soft and smooth. It has a slight scent (not commerical fragrance) that I noticed for the first couple of days but afterwards I got used to it. It comes in a plastic squeeze bottle which helps you control how much you use so you have no wasted product. I truly love this product and it has saved my dry, dehydrated skin. I also use the coordinating Seaware toner, rosehip moisturizing cream, and Lumessence eye cream. After two weeks, the transformation of my skin is amazing. The rosehip moisturizing cream contains rosehip oil which is an excellent anti-aging product that is superior to the Dremu (emu) oil. This set has almost completely erased all of my dehydration/fine lines. At 28, this is a complete blessing that I will use for a lifetime.

I bought this product when I switched to all natural skin care. This is a great natural product for dry skin. Great for winter/low humidity. It doesn't leave my face dry at all. Almost everything I've tried does. I didn't like it at first but now I love it. I have to rinse several times to get rid of all the scent. The scent is a little odd. This product with the Aubrey moisturizer for dry skin, leaves my skin like a baby's butt. The packaging isn't fancy but it works.

LOVE this product!!! I'd love it even if it had a bug in it, LOL!! (do you realize the US Gov actually has acceptable standards for bugs and other things you don't want to know about in your food?)
I used to use an expensive spa cleanser but switched to this. The smell is fine (not as good as it used to be before they reformulated it). I think if you get away from the overly sythetic parfume that is in sooooooo many commerical products you will find this just right.
My face always feels clean and soft after using this cleanser. I even turned my BF on to it!
Great product! Go natural!
Oh yeah - I gave the packaging a 3 because it always pops when I fly from the change in air pressure. I now put it in another bottle.

This product was my HG cleanser, it removed dirt and oil and helped refine the overall look of my skin with no sulfates! I didn't even mind the odd, hippy smell.
Howvere, after opening the seal on a brand new bottle, I found a dead BUG in the product!!! I like organic, but that's just TOO organic for me. I won't ever be able to bring myself to use this cleanser again.

The smell on all my Aubrey Organic products is... Off? I haven't warmed up to the wierd smells accompanying my products, but that's just me. Secondly, I wasn't too impressed by this cleanser, it didn't ruin my skin, but I'm not sure if it's necessarily doing anything fantastic either. Still, this is an ok cleanser for sensitive types who can take the smell.

I thought FINALLY a cleanser that's gentle AND takes all my makeup off!! However, as soon as I put it on my face the SMELL is really strong! It smells a lot like alcohol and it even made me dizzy. I loved the cleanser but had to return it bc the scent was waaay too strong. If you don't mind the strong smell, GREAT product.
