Possibly the best lotion I have ever used. I put this on all over my body the first night that I got it, and the next day my skin was silky smooth, where as the night before my skin was so dry and flaky.
I'm not sure if I like the smell or not, but it's not a horrible smell, it's just super earthy, after awhile it just starts to smell like lotion. I also have the body wash and the two together work wonderfully.

Love this! I have used TBS body butters for awhile, but usually only used them on my hands/arms to stretch it further. I got this product in an after Xmas gift set on sale, and my HG hemp hand cream was included, so I decided to use this body butter on...duh, my body! It is fabulous! The smell is different, but I really like it, and it's quite subtle. I can smell it for most of the day, but only as an occasional whiff and it's very pleasant. I have fairly dry skin, and I can get away with using this every other day after getting out of the shower. Highly recommended!

This product is a lifesaver. I use it all the time, it's perfect for every season in New England because it helps with dry skin during winter months and also if used in large amounts after aloe helps to releve and moisturize sunburn. I received this product a year ago for Christmas and still have almost half the tub left, a little goes a long way! I would recommend this to anyone.

I absolutely LOVE this body butter. I use it for my hands and feet and I love how healthy and soft they are.

This would be a PERFECT product if it smelled differently. It works so well- my legs are always so dry in the winter- they get tiny little fissures so it looks like a dry riverbed on my shins. I've been using this for two months, and no more dryness. I put it on immediately after my evening shower, and my legs/feet have never looked better.
I do try to put on a different body butter on top of this if I use it in the morning, otherwise I smell "herb-y" all day.
the price is a little steep at $18 a pop, but The body Shop usually has some crazy sale going on, so I just wait for their 3 for $30 or 50%off to purchase this along with my basics.

So I was at TBS about two weeks ago, and being the holiday season, I knew there would be some great sales at the store.
I was in luck! I got a 50% off anything in the store (excluding gift sets).
I went CRAZY and bought about 6 body butters, some shower gels, scrubbing gloves, scented oil for the home, AND because I earned my 8th point, I was entitled to a free $25 gift.
I chose the Hemp holiday gift set: a regular sized Hemp Body Butter, a regular sized Hemp hand cream, small sized foot cream, and the Hemp lip balm.
I kind of don't like the smell, but let me tell you. It is extremely moisturizing! My mom always suffers from cracked finger tips during the winter (so painful). They bleed and drive her crazy. She tries all kinds of creams, but nothing helps. I gave her some of the body butter to try and the next day, there was such a noticeable improvement. She was so happy. I gave her the hand cream, and she applies it whenever she washes her hands, and especially at night. A week later, no more cracked finger tips!
AMAZING. GET ONE IF YOU HAVE DRY SKIN!

I go through one of these tubs every month. Nothing else works for my eczema-prone skin like this does. With increased stress, I get eczema on my lower back, the sides of my stomach, and on my wrists. Shaving my legs and wearing a sports bra also results in angry red patches on my legs and torso. You don't want to be using expensive prescription steroid creams all the time. This stuff is amazing. The smell isn't offensive, but it would be nice if it could be a little more feminine.

This is the second time I've had the Hemp Body Butter, the first time i was bought it as a gift and loved it.
I use this when my eczema is playing up, i get these aweful red angry patches on my hands, arms, shoulders and behind my knees and i put it on overnight which i think is the best time to do it as it needs ALOT of time to sink into the skin as it is very concentrated and not to mention green, and by the time i wake up the redness has gone down and does not feel as sore and irritated.
The only negative that i have about this products is that it has a tendency to flake, so you might find small little green flakes on your skin by the time it's dried.

I got this on 4/20 as part of The Body Shop's 4 for $20 Hemp product promotion. I had never smelled these products before, but I could not pass up the good deal. I ended up getting 3 of these and giving away one of them. The scent is... musky, slightly masculine, and as a friend told me "medicinal." I'm not a HUGE fan of it, but it does make my skin VERY soft and moisturized all day. It's definitely taken some getting used to, but overall I like it. If you love the smell of hemp products, give this a try.

While I'm not a big fan of the smell, it did WONDERS for my eczema.
It seemed a bit pricey at first, but it really does last a long time! I've been using it on my legs daily for the past few months, not to mention that I've been sharing it with my baby sister, and I still have about 1/3 left.
Plus it's quite useful during long Canadian winters. ;)

I love this stuff.. I have never written a review before but I had to on this product. It's thick in the container which I love. When you put it on it goes on smooth and is not greasy. I love the smell.. I do get the patchouli in it that others get. It is kind of green, earthy, patchouli.. but does wear off by the morning for sure. I use this for my daughter who has skin problems and she stays moisturized for 24 hours. Love, love, love this stuff!!!

I always love the packaging quality of TBS body butters. This makes a great insect repellent, if you don't mind the smell. I also love the way it moisturizes your skin. I usually put this on at night so the smell is gone by the morning. I would not recommend putting this on your face though, because it worsened my acne.

This body butter is seriously moisturizing. It's got a strong "herbal" fragrance, but the benefits far outweigh that. I like to slather this over my legs and feet after shaving. I also tend to get callouses when I wear sandals, so after exfoliation I work this into my feet and it keeps them soft. Great stuff, if you use it at night, the herbal smell is gone by morning.

This body butter is a lot softer than the other butters that the Body Shop offers - not in the sense that its runny, but its easier to smooth over your body.
The hemp has extreme moisturising qualities, providing instant and intensive moisture for anyone suffering from dry skin. The smell is very subtle, but the scent you do get is very fresh.
A seriously brilliant moisturiser for anyone that suffers from dry skin, and as it's all natural there's no need to worry about any nasty chemicals that are going to irritate your skin.

It's good and I like it, I even like the smell...it works well for my dry, itchy legs. Actually, now that winter has crept up, I tore my house apart looking for my tub from last year. Then I remembered that I had used it all & was kind of sad because I didn't want to use my other ho-hum creams. let me give some background history on my skin...i have been blessed with acne prone, but incredibly dry skin both on my face and body. from the age of sixteen i have had to take medications for acne on my face and body, use creams that either contain either salycic acid or benzyl peroxide and have had to be extremely cautious on what moisturizing lotions and creams i put on my body. i have never had the perfect balance until i found this body butter. most lotions/body butters have either been too greasy or barely moisturizing. this cream is neither. it is amazing at curing my chapped hands, feet, body without feeling too greasy...yes its thick, but it's intended for extremely dry skin...alot of people don't like the fragrance but i have grown to love it, and even if i didn't, it wouldn't matter, because i only care about how the product performs, and this baby performs. i have tried everything..clinique, all the body butters from the body shop(shea, strawberry, coconut) lush, doir bla bla bla and none have moisturized like this does. not only this, but the whole body shops hemp range is amazing at curing dry skin and keeping it moisturized by creating a barrier around dry skin. dry skin suffers, give this a go!

Love this - love the scent (very green/ natural) and it's very moisturizing. Sinks in quickly & doesn't leave my skin greasy. Gives me a glow! My bellwether for moisturizers is whether my elbows become itchy and dry throughout the day, and this prevents that. continued >>

I got it as a gift from a friend. And I didn't like it at all - it smells awful and leaves you skin smell awful too. It's ultra heavy and sticky. Plus I prefer body lotions in pump bottles because it's more hygenic.

I really like this body butter. It is a little heavy, but I use it mostly on the tops of my hands, knees, elbows, heels and anywhere else that I need extra moisturizing. It isn't cheap, but most good moisturizers aren't. I personally LOVE LOVE LOVE the smell. So does my husband. It's very clean, which I like. I don't usually go for the floral heady scents. So this one is perfect!

You don't buy hemp body butter because you like the smell. You buy it because winter's crept up, it's not as cold as it used to be, but just as dry as it's ever been, and your skin's confused. Without the warning, all of a sudden you wake up in the middle of the night to scratch your shoulder or your leg.
Some of the fruity body butters are only as good as a good drugstore moisturiser, and 4 times the price. For dry skin in winter, this is my HG. Skin tone improves and the itching and sensitivity gets better too. Unfortunately, I find a tub doesn't last more than a fortnight when I use it everyday, because it goes on quite solid. I suggest wearing something loose fitting after you use this, because it does take some time to sink in, and if you just get dressed, your clothes get the oils, not you.
All the body butters are ridiculously overpriced, but until I find something as good, I'm stuck with paying for this. I also use the Hemp Hand Cream, which is excellent as well.
