This is a hair necessity for me, I have thick, longish hair that's fairly coarse, especially the underneath layer. This product eliminates the frizz and makes my hair both soft and wavy, after applying it I let it air dry without even scrunching it. The only problem is that for my hair, at least, it takes a fair amount of product to actually achieve results. It ends up balancing out for me because I don't have to wash/style my hair every day, it usually lasts for three to four days, but if you shower every morning I would consider going with a cheaper option.

I absolutely do not know what I would do without this product. My hair is extremely thick and kinky, and this product has done wonders on my hair. I have found over the years that it works best using very little near the roots and more as you go down, the opposite of some of the products I have used. Overall, this is one of the styling products that I never hesitate to drop the $$ for.

I have fine (but thick) curly hair that is very prone to frizz. I scrunch this product into my hair after my leave-in conditioner and a serum. I finish it off with a light gel. I put all my styling products in while my hair is dripping wet. I then plop my hair in a microfiber towel for 15 minutes or so.
This product is only so-so for me. It does a decent job defining my curls and reducing frizz, but I've tired better stuff. Also, CG should be aware that it has silicones in it, so you will have to clarify after using it.
I will finish the bottle, but I won't buy it again.

Did leave my hair soft and held the curl however it didn't define my curls anymore than me using no product. I've used it 5 times now and tried a few different things and pretty much have gotten similar results each time.

HGHGHGHGHG.
Only thing that keeps my lions mane tamed. The key to using this is when you hair is wet. Don't wrap you hair in a towel. You want it damp. Leaning more wet than dry. You also want to use a little bit of it.

I have dry, curly shoulder length hair that's normally super frizzy. When I use just a tiny bit, this product keeps my hair pretty well under control. I don't find it to be greasy at all and it's great for making spiral curls using a diffuser. Also leaves a nice, soft finish.
Definitely recommend!

Thin to medium texture 2a wavy hair, shoulder length.
This product handily achieves the following objectives:
Hair feels coated
Look like thin strings
Hair color becomes one shade darker
Become heavier, lying flatter against the head
Will not absorb a volumizing product (because of the oil content of the product, I assume)
After having tried this product about 14 times--varying different amounts and methods of application--I'm giving up. Why did I keep trying to use this product 14 times? Awesome question.
Because it's fantastically expensive.

I have fine to medium curly hair and this weighs my curls down and does not control frizz. If it's very humid outside and I use this, my hair is a frizzy mess. There's also something in it that irritates my scalp if I use it too often. I will not be buying this again.

I bought this because I have fine, straight to wavy hair that can be pretty wavy if I play with it enough. I thought this creme would bring out my curls. It doesn't really. Maybe I'm not using it correctly, but it doesn't do much except for make my hair look greasy, no matter how little I use or how much I dilute it. I expected more from the price of this.

I switched to this because I couldn't bear the smell of Aveda Be Curly cream and was on the look out for a good curl definer. I have 2b long hair with loose curls and this did nothing for them. I guess since I am not used to using products with silicones it felt weird, somewhat sticky on my hair. The smell is great but everything about this product feels artifical including the fragrance.

This is lovely in my dry, curly hair, but only when I take care not to use too much; if you overload your hair, it will be flat and gummy. (It might help you to watch B&B’s instructional video on their Website, but the amount that they use may be too much for you!) I also noticed that this tends to perform better in air-drying, as a blow-dryer can clump things up. I love the smell--fresh, sweet, and creamy. continued >>

I've tried both the original and new formulas (now called Curl Calming Creme) and in my opinion, neither do anything to warrant the $27.00 pricetag. I give it 2 stars as it does provide a smoothing effect and slightly enhances curl, but it's really no better at it than any typical drugstore brand. The smell is rather unpleasant, and although it states that the product is for fine to medium hair, this left my 3A curls slightly limp and greasy. Kevin Murphy's Motion Lotion beats the pants off this stuff!

I think that this would be a good product if used in conjunction with something that will give more control. I just have not found the right complimentary product to use with this yet. So, I am going to check here what others are saying and using with it. I have a big bottle left and don't want it to collect dust! By itself it does give waves and curls but here in humid FL, my hair tends to rise, and is just too soft and poofy. Help! Oh, it does smell nice and I like the packaging. Bit pricey though. If I can find something to use with this, I will possibly repurchase.

Like it. I didn't used to use hair product. Why? I hated the smell, the goopiness, the cruchiness, the hassle, the. . .why, why, why didn't I use hair product sooner? I'm just a stubborn low-maintenance type, but I'm realizing that there are some things that make you look better and are worth the 40 seconds they take to apply, if you can find the right one. This product is it for me. I have medium-textured, dry, wavy hair that is voluminous. Meaning that it gets a bit crazy-looking if I just let it go. I put a dime or nickel-sized dollop of this in my wet hair after the shower, comb it through, and let it air dry most of the time (when I'm in a hurry, I blow dry). It makes my hair smell good and look good, and helps control the frizz. It's hard for me to describe exactly what it does to make my hair look good; I think it makes it a bit shiny and makes it clump together in a good way. Best of all, it feels like I have nothing in my hair. While it leaves my hair with a faint, pleasant scent, it doesn't make my hair crunchy unless I use too much. I tend to comb my hair after it dries (I'm not trying to achieve a very curly look, just define the waves that I have).
*By the way, this review is for the new formulation.

Love it. I have fine curls, both big & loose and also smaller corkscrews. This cream helps define the different textures on my head and is soft--no crunch or snags, ever. I have to be careful not to use too much---really, just a pea size--because it can weigh the hair down (even though it is for fine hair). This makes the cost seem more reasonable--especially since the bottle is pretty big and lasts a long time. Only gripe I have is that it is loaded with dimethicone, so anybody doing the "curly girl" method should be aware of product build-up with this. continued >>

Great product for fine, curly hair! It is expensive at $27.00 for 8.5 oz., but will has lasted me 6 months and I use it every day. I have tried many styling products for curly hair and I have to say this is my favorite one.

I have tried many different brands of curl cremes (I prefer cremes over gels and mousse) and this stuff is still my favorite. You just need a little and it lasts a looong time. The smell is great and it didn't weight my hair down, which most curl stuff does (especially for us fine to medium hair girls).
I apply to my hair when it is nearly soaking wet, out of the shower and let it soak in for a few minutes, then diffuse. The next day, I re-wet my hair a little and IF needed, apply a LITTLE more of the product to my hair. Works wonders for me...

Very disappointed. My hair has a fair bit of natural curl and wave that tends to frizz a little. It is fine, with lots of body and holds a style very well. This creme doesn't do anything other than make my hair look greasy, no matter how little I use. TiGi Curls Rock was better on my hair (but I didn't love that either).

I wasn't really a fan of this product. I bought it b/c I have very thick, coarse hair with a wave in it. Judging from most of the reviews this seems to be a product better suited more to those with curls and less for those with wave. I have used other products that brought out more wave and volume for me and gave me more sexy/ beachy waves. However, at my stylist's recommendation I decided to try this out but didn't really get anything out of it. I am glad I bought the little bottle:)Otherwise, it's probably it a great product for those with tighter curl.

I started going to a new salon that uses Bumble & Bumble, so I decided to treat myself and try this creme. I was skeptical because it was so pricey, and the instructions make it sound incredibly cumbersome to use. However, this really REALLY works... I do not need to use a leave in conditioner or anything else on my hair with this. I wide-tooth comb it through and then scrunch and diffuse. Even when it's air-dried this leaves my hair soft, full of body, and none of my curls are compromised. I really love this... but... minus one lippy due to the price (it won't be a staple as other products half the price work well too). continued >>
