This is the only product that ever cleared up the bumps on my legs. I loved this stuff. It was a little greasy, but that was from the sunscreen, and I liked that it had sunscreen in it.

I don't know if the little red bumps on my legs are razor bumps, acne, or KP, but it didn't matter because this lotion got rid of them. It was a bit pricey, but it was worth it because it WORKED.

Of course, since it worked, Neutrogena discontinued it. I've tried a bunch of other AHA lotions, and none of them have smoothed out my legs like this did. I don't understand why this was so effective, and I'll keep going through AHA lotions until I find a replacement (if I ever do).

It's been years, and I'm still upset Neutrogena discontinued this. Considering that all girls deal with razor bumps, acne, or KP at least some of the time, Neutrogena's "there's no market for this" comes off as extra annoying.

I tried this once at my friends house before they discontinued it.
Made my skin really soft and smooth, I didn't notice a difference for my KP (I have it on my arms and legs) but it is because I only used it once.
I read the post about how Neutrogena responded to the other reviewer by saying they didn't think there was enough of us KP sufferers to market a product for us.
It is estimated that between 50-80% of caucasians have this skin condition... so Neutrogena makes me angry... lol that is it.

I LOVED this. It took me awhile to decide to buy it (the price is a little high for a lotion) but it's definately worth it. I noticed the bumbs on my legs reduced after about a week of using this stuff. I'm so excited I found something to get rid of those ugly things. I will definately repurchase this. continued >>

the scent is great, very refreshing, the minute right after you put it on is great. I live in Hawaii, no cool or dry weather. and luckily, KP is the only problem on my legs, so I tried to use this religiously, I had used this for 2 months already, but my skin is still left with KP, BTW the price is not cheap too!!! :< continued >>

I didnt think this worked at all. I get the KP bumps and this doesnt help with it at all. AmLactin or LacHydrin work much better for the KP. I get it on my elbows, sometimes arms and thighs. However, on the upside, this did a nice job with shaving bumps on my legs. It does have a strong scent thats kinda yucky, but i got used to it. Since it didnt get rid of all bumps, I would not repurchase although it is half the price of the other two products i listed so it may be worth trying to see if it works like it did for some other reviewers. Just not strong enough for me!

I've been using this for about a week-and-a-half, and perhaps it's too early to say anything, but honestly, I did not notice a difference between this and Vaseline's Healthy Body Complexion lotion (both have chemical exfoliators in them). I've been putting the Neutrogena on the left side of my body and the Vaseline lotion on the right side (once per day in the evening before bed--I use body oil after showering in the morning) and both sides are more smoothed out and softer-feeling, but equally so. I have a touch of KP on my thighs and upper arms and while both lotions did a good job of making my legs feel silky-smooth, they didn't really fully eliminate the bumpiness of my arms (but then, nothing really does).

Perhaps long-term use will reveal a bigger difference? I will update if anything remarkable happens, but I wouldn't hold your breath. I've found that almost all AHA or BHA lotions will work for me, as long as I use them consistently, exfoliate manually in the shower, and use a heavy moisturizer of some kind in addition. If I lapse in these last two things, then the AHA/BHA lotion does not work nearly as well. I think if you suffer from KP, the only thing that will really help is to maintain a consistent exfoliation/moisturization routine--basically doing the work that your skin can't do on its own.

Anyway, differences are that the Neutrogena one has SPF (important if you're using AHAs and BHAs), a slightly more pleasant fragrance (fruity-floralish, though I'd prefer nothing at all) and is about 3x more expensive than the Vaseline stuff. I might repurchase this if it goes on sale, but I'm not really inclined to it as I usually only wear this type of exfoliating lotion at night (so the SPF isn't a big plus), and the Healthy Body Complexion lotion works just as well and is way cheaper (esp. if you can get your hands on the generic DG version). Neither are magic bullets, by any means, but have worked about equally well for me in my KP maintenance routine. continued >>

This stuff is amazing! It makes my skin SO SOFT and smooth. I use it after shaving and I don't get those awful bumps or ingrown hairs. I originally bought it because I heard it was good for KP-- unfortunately I haven't really noticed an effect on that. But it does say you should use it twice a day and I only use it once every other day, so that may be why. Despite that, I am in love with this stuff. It's quite expensive ($15) for a drugstore lotion, though. I really hope it's not being discontinued as the reveiew below said. If so I'm going to have to stock up-- and I can't really afford that right now!

This is my HG body lotion.
I've been using it for a couple of years now, since it came out and it's the only thing that really helps my KP (and I've tried Lac-Hydrin, Kerasal, Jergens which smells gawdawful, and others I can't remember the name of).
I've just discovered though, that Neutrogena has discontinued this!!!!!
Their response to my email inquiry was that they didn't feel there are enough of us KP sufferers to continue to market a product for us.
Please, all of you who love this as much as I do, write to Neutrogena and let them know so maybe they will change their minds or bring it back in another form!
In the meantime, I've been stocking up whenever I can find it, and I highly recommend it if you can find some.

So far after a week of using this lotion twice a day I have been seeing some changes in my skin! I have KP from my shoulders down to my forearms. Its not as bad on my forearms but none the less a pain in the butt! Not only has my skin been feeling quite soft and touchable, I'm starting to see results of my KP bumps disappearing. As well, some of the blotchiness has started to fade. I will continue to use this religiously in hopes to see further improvements! My only problem with this product is the price. $14 CDN at wal-mart. Seems a bit much for 250mL but proving to be well worth the price. Plus, a little seems to go a long way!
Note: I am so disappointed to hear that Neutrogena discontinued this!! This stuff was actually really working great on my KP! continued >>

This product works really well. It evens out skintone and exfoliates wonderfully -- shaving is much easier when you're properly exfoliated. However, it smells awful. I love what it does to my skin but I just can't take the smell! Most products like this just smell for a few minutes, but this scent lingers. I don't know if it's the acids or the sunscreen but the smell doesn't go away. I can't use it during the day because I would smell awful, and I can't use it at night because it would stink up my sheets and whatever clothes I slept in (they smell until you wash them, even if all you did in them was sleep). If they came out with a similar product that didn't have the stench I would buy it in a second, because it's a great lotion. However, I don't want myself, my clothes, or my egyptian cotton sheets to reek, so I stopped using it.

I had been looking for a good body moisturizer. My biggest problem (as I have mentioned before in other reviews)is that most things cause me to break out. My rationale was that if this is intended to calm and help prevent bumps such as razor burn or keratosis pilaris than it would be worth a try. Well, I can't say that I have ever been happier. I purchased this about 3 and half weeks ago and WOW :) Not only did it not make me break out, it rapidly helped heal what was already there. I didn't have too much of a problem with rough bumpy skin but now everywhere is just lovely. I had very mild KP on my upper arms and it is 100% GONE. I have to tell you I went to the Bahamas last weekend for a bit of a mini vacation and for the first time I wasn't embarrassed about my skin in a bikini. My boyfriend got burnt while we were away and it helped calm down his burn quite substantially also. My skin looks more youthful even my forearms have a glow and I can't say I have ever payed attention to my forearms before :) I will be in Florida over the holidays and I am absolutely going to stock up on this (everything is more expensive CAD). 100% worth a try. YEAH :)

I really like this lotion. I have a real problem with ingrown hairs on my legs and arms. I have been using this everyday for a few weeks. After about 2 weeks I noticed a definite improvement. I'm not a huge fan of the smell, but I got used to it after a few days. I have already bought my second bottle, even though it's a bit pricey. It's worth the $. Prior to buying this, I used the homemade tendskin (aspirin, witch hazel, alcohol) with very limited results. Love this stuff! Now, if I could just get DH to try it on his KP...

I love this stuff! I have horrible KP on my upper arms.
Nothing I tried ever helped, and it's so ugly..
I've only been using this for 5 days, twice daily.
and there's a HUGE diference!! HONESTLY!!!
I can't believe the cheapest thing I tried worked the best.
I mean, I still have bumps, but they're a lot less noticeable
and many of them have disapeared. my skin is softer, too.
I'll update in about a month to tell you how things are going.

I have KP on my upper arms and have tried everything from prescription AHA lotions and retinoic acid creams to over the counter products like Kerasal and KP Duty. With each new products, I initially saw some marginal improvement but over time the effectiveness diminishes. This is pretty much the same -- it helps a little but no miracle. That said, this is fantastically priced (esp compared to KP Duty which is not worth even half of what it costs) and with its AHA/BHA combo, I use it on freshly shaved skin and anywhere else my skin needs a little smoothing action. The scent is light and pleasant as well. Highly recommended to those with minor KP and/or shaving bumpies.

This is my third bottle of this lotion. It's great! It has exfoliators (aha or something like that) that works wonders on those little bumps that I get on the tops of my arms. It really does smooth out your skin, I saw results in less than a week.

Like many others, I tried this in an attempt to get rid of those nasty little bumps on my arms. Trust me ladies, this WORKS. I used this every day for 3 weeks and they totally disappeared. I also did use the Neutrogena Body Clear scrub three times a week. I like that it has a SPF in it. The scent is a little floral, very subtle and not overpowering. I had a hard time finding it, though...had to go to Ulta.

after reading the other reviews i went out and bought this product, but was skeptical. i've had kp for years and have tried prescription lotions, dermadoctor's lotion, alpha hydroxy, pumice stones, regular lotions, and nothing has worked as well as this. i've gone through a couple bottles of this stuff now and i still have some bumps, but overall, my skin has gotten much better. i'm not crazy about the smell especially when i first put it on, but unless something better comes around, i will be sticking to this lotion.

    I LOVE THIS STUFF!!!
Why: I have nasty bumpy skin on my butt and the upper backs/sides of my thighs. What is this stuff? Where does it come from? I don't know. I hate it. I tried pumice stones. loofahs, and scrubs. They all irritated my skin, made the bumps worse, and made me itchy! I tried another product that had mineral oil in it. Yuck. I hate mineral oil and petrolatum based products. It made my skin feel slimy and sticky.
I saw this product at Giant, and I was hesitant at first. I like their sesame oil lotion though, so I was hopeful. I used this product every morning out of the shower. Now, three weeks later I can say, yes, it works. I have very few bumps left, and nice, smooth skin again. Yay!
Now I just need to work on fading all those little scars...
