I love how this works on my skin. it truly hydrates my tretinoin treated skin without make me oily looking. But the issue is the scent, old fashion powdery soap scent. If the sensitive version will come back, it will become my HG product.

My mom and aunties all have been using the classic Olay pink lotion/ creams for many years, and I grew up with them too. I'm an Olay fan for years including their Complete line for spf 15 lotions & creams, and the Total Effects 7-signs of aging spf creams. Now, at mid 40's and a mom myself, I'm still an Olay customer. The pink lotion always bring back warming memories of my mom. She passed away many years ago, but that pink glass bottle of Olay lotion was her staple at her night table, and that baby powderish fragrance, oh! Once in a while, I would purchase a bottle just for that reason!
Olay recently changed packaging for their classic & Complete skin care line, including their original pink lotion. I got a bottle of the pink lotion with this new packaging when they had it on sale last week. Seems to me Olay has changed their formulation slightly, this new packaged pink lotion is slightly thicker than the older packaging. I believe they added more petroleum to the lotion, where as the older version has no petroleum in it. I personally like the older version better. I am going to go out soon and stock up on their old packaging pink lotion!!!
Other than that, the newly packaged classic lotion/creams line are pretty much the same. A classic moisturizer for many! continued >>

I bought this product for the first time this past summer because I felt I needed to moisturize my soon to be middle aged skin to avoid wrinkles in the future. I was hoping it was similar to the Oil of Olay sensitive skin that I used when I was in highschool as they no longer make that product (the one that did not contain sunscreen and made for sensitive skin).
At first I thought I really liked this formula... but as the summer progressed, my skin became obnoxiously oily and would break out (I very seldom break out)... I chalked it up to being summer time so I began using just once a day instead of at night too.
Then winter came and suddenly my skin became so dry, irritated and flaky that nothing I did seemed to help... along with the fact that my surface skin looked wrinkly! I constantly was using an exfolliant to remove the flaking skin and as a result my face was just constantly raw and then would peel and flake again.
I finally put two and two together and realized it was the this product!!!
I've switched back to just using pure organic jojoba oil on my skin and it instantly soaked it up and I have my regular soft "glow" to my skin again! I hope this corrects the damage I did from using the Olay for several months!
I would honestly not recommend this product to anyone. Sorry. If you read the label and you can't pronounce it, don't use it!

This is an EXTREMELY mediocre product. This is like Johnson's baby lotion in every way. No hydrating enough, stings the eyes, smells like baby lotion, feels like baby lotion... Definitely not repurchasing this.

I so wanted to like this product. Unfortunately it did not work for me. Maybe it was the mineral oil or the petrolatum or
DMDM HYDANTOIN ingredient - not sure which, but I got a series of white pustules on my arm after I tested the lotion (luckily) on my arm area. According to some sources, the DMDM ingredient releases formaldehyde after application. Not pretty... :(
Pros - The scent is medicinal but unique. Packaging is a dainty type.
Cons - expensive, especially with all the cheap chemicals in the ingredient list.
Could be that Olay is the genetic-type cosmetic line. For some it works wonders, for others it is danger zone. I guess I belong to the latter group as I have always had trouble with Olay products.

My grandmother used this as far back as I can remember . This brings back memories. Now i dont know if I could credit this face lotion or just good genes, but my grandmother at the ripe age of 88 has maybe 5 wrinkles on her face!! Her skin is admirably gorgeous for her age. I plan on using this for years to come and its definitely a beauty staple :)

Love love love this stuff. Its been around for ages and there is a reason why. It works! After getting the dauly spf moisturizer from olay and falling in love with it, I decided to go and see what other non anti-aging moisturizers olay has to offer. All I can say is, goodbye Clinique. If you are extremely sensitive to scents, I suggest the sensitive skin version (which has been renamed, not discontinued). At first, I got a slight headache from the scent but now I barely notice the scent and when I do, I actually like it! Highly recommened.

I keep coming back to Olay, wish it still came in the glass bottle because I think the scent mixed in the plastic doesn't smell quite as good. The scent is a sort of powdery floral with a touch of almond. It is strong. If you are sensitive to scent (like me) consider the scent free version. There is also one with SPF.

The major ingredients are mineral oil, vaseline (petrolatum) and glycerin. Very basic. It is cheap enough but watch where you buy it; Walgreens was 20% more than Walmart or online drugstores.

It leaves my face soft, has a cooling feel when applied (due to a high water content) and it sinks in fairly well. It leaves a slight moist feel due to the glycerin which is attracting water to your skin. I spent a lot more on creams that do no more, so why not spend $9.47 or so on a 6oz bottle that you can get anywhere?

Some of these reviews are really funny. I decided to try this after reading loads of reviews on the OLAY website from people who were in their 60's or even older who swore by this product. They were loyal users of years and years who said their skin had less wrinkles than their peers. This OLAY original fluid was the formula made so many years ago and it literally has like 4-5 ingredients. Simple, and effective. The picture on this page is not correct, that is the picture of the creme, not the beauty fluid. The beauty fluid comes in a small bottle, containing pink lotion. They also make one for sensitive skin which comes in a yellow bottle, and is odorless.
As a moisturizer I have to say it works very well. It has cleared up my flakes, and it has not broken me out at all. Although the smell isn't something I'd be like, "ooooo that smells so pretty!" I didn't find it as offensive as some others here who compare it to a dirty diaper masked with powder. It smells like... an old person. I guess. I've been using it for a month or so now and I got used to the smell. The smell also fades very quickly once it's massaged in, and I apply my makeup over it. My boyfriend and I are in a long distance relationship and he wasn't around when I bought this lotion, and we had a sleepover when he was home for a visit. I was getting ready for bed, washed my face, and applied the lotion and he said, "So, I'm glad your new moisturizer works and everything... but that smells like SH*T!" LOL. It's definitely not pleasant to most people. I definitely would buy this lotion again, but I think I will let this bottle finish up and then purchase the sensitive skin one that has no smell. I originally took off one lippy for the smell, but then I added it back. The smell is not a deal breaker, and it fades fast. Not bad enough to lose a lip.

Did I get a bad bottle? This stuff smells like baby sh*t masked with powder. And it's not just me being flip here: my boyfriend said I smelled like a dirty diaper. =/ How I missed this fact when I purchased the beauty fluid, I'll never know, (I probably just grabbed it without sniffing first...) but there ya go.

On the BRIGHT side, the smell fades after, like, an hour. And, smell aside, the moisturizer / beauty fluid works exactly as advertised: it moisturizes. Perhaps TOO well in my case...

The unseasonably chilly spring has wreaked havoc on my skin, so I was looking for cheap results until my skin got back to normal. This stuff managed to take dry, flaky, itchy skin and turn it greasy in a matter of hours. So it works? Meh.

I WAS going to give this product a 3 because most of my complaints admittedly stem from my own errors in judgment, but I'm going to give it a 2, since as my boyfriend says, "At some point, it's not your fault for not smelling it first; it's their fault for making something that smells like sh*t."

I cant use any other moisturizer because they just dont keep my skin hydrated throughout the day like this does. My skin is very combination. I use the original beauty fluid. When searching for this, I saw that they have sensitive and oil free versions of this so I would like to try those because my skin is both oily and sensitive, though so far this is the best for that. I've tried three of cliniques moisturizers which were tremendous wastes of money and i now hate clinique more than before. ive also tried biore, neutrogena, and aveeno. Only aveeno worked, but the hydration did not last all day, so i flaked by lunchtime.

This moisturizer does what a moisturizer should do. Its not too heavy for my oily skin, but at the same time hydrating. The smell at first is hard to get used to (like strong baby powder) but i got used to it. It soaks in to the skin fast. But sometimes if my skin can get dry spots, it takes a little more moisturizer for that. This product does not interfere with any other of my skin care/makeup items and overall, i LOVE it!

Skin type: Dry/Sensitive and if not properly balanced acne-prone.
Okay so it seems like people are reviewing both the cream and the beauty lotion under this title. Since I've tried both I will review them both here.

Beauty Lotion:

This lotion is supposed to be lighter than the cream, but I find this one doesn't sink into my skin as well. I don't use it on damp skin, so maybe that's the problem. It didn't make my skin super shiny, but it just sat on top of my skin, and it stayed tacky/sticky-like. It seems like ingredient-wise the only difference really is the lotion has mineral oil and the cream has petroleum. This one is in a bottle with a small hole in the top, squeeze bottle type. I won't repurchase this one. This didn't sting my sensitive skin.

Hydrating Cream:

I absolutely love this. This goes on so smooth and my face plumps up and gets really soft. It doesn't leave a shine at all. I can use this in the morning. As for the scent, it was a little off-putting at first (smells a little like baby lotion), but if fades really fast and doesn't cause any migraines. I have actually grown to like it, because I now associate it with dewy glowing skin (forgot to mention the beauty lotion has the same smell). This didn't sting/irritate my sensitive skin.

I think the tub looks really pretty it's a light pink with a black lid. This is very affordable and readily available. It's about $8 or so. FYI: The "Night of Olay Firming Cream" has pretty much the same ingredients. I love them both!!
I will definitely continue to repurchase both, the Night of Olay and the Hydrating Cream.

My ratings (lippies) on this review is for the Beauty Fluid/Lotion.

I like the scent a lot. It does a good job of moisturizing and Its a pretty color. The only downside is a lot of times way to much product squirts out. Besides that, It's a good product. ;)

I really love this product! I tried out other products like Neutrogena SPF 15 moisturizer and other products but nothing compares to this! If you have oily and acne prone skin, this will work wonders! But, like with any moisturizer, don't use too much, only put moisturizer where you NEED IT. Not where it's really really oily. If you must have moisturizer, only put a little on the oily parts and fill up on the dry parts. This really reduces pimples and cleared up my skin in a week (mild acne).

I really really like this. My skin is on the dry/normal side with occasional acne around my mouth because I bite my nails. I get especially dry during the summer months and I need something that is going to give me moisture and not feel super heavy. I like this a lot. And i really feel this could become a love very quickly. I'm using this at night and the Olay all day uv moisturizer spf 15 in the morning. It soaks in quickly and doesn't leave a residue, but my skin looks glowy and healthy after applying this. I would definitely recommend it .

I'm reviewing this product on behalf of my gorgeous mom at the ripe age of 63 yrs. old. She has been using this since 1980. My mom has no wrinkles whatsoever. Her face is smooth & silky. I love the smell of this product. I personally don't use it, but maybe I should because I spend hundreds of dollars finding an HG moisturizer. She has never had any acne using this product. Her skin type is sensitive-combination. As I type about this product I may just go to Wal-Mart and pick up a bottle myself. I have no idea how many bottles she's purchased over the years, but I'm sure it's quite a bit :D continued >>
