I was REALLY hoping that this would work for me; I'd seen it on The Small Things blog and got it wholesale through a friend, so at least I didn't pay full price for it. I used it for several weeks and it really didn't do anything for my hair. My hair is fine but I have a lot of it and it usually takes to new products fairly well so I was surprised and disappointed that this one didn't work for me. Oh, well, onto the next great volumizer!
I think I am the only person who didn't like this product. I've read great reviews and watched several demos, but it just didn't work for me any better than cheap drug store brands. I've tried using a lot, I've tried using a little to no avail. I have fine hair and it's somewhat thin and I do a LOT of back combing/teasing to give it volume. I love volume and I bought this product hoping to avoid so much back combing. What a disappointment! On the bright side, it smells fantastic!
Lordy....THIS stuff works! Works both when I do a blowout or use a curling iron. Almost works TOO well ie: Big Texas Hair when curling--less is more. Leaves kind of a film behind, so you really HAVE to wash the next day. Only drawbacks=$15 for a can of this, and the ooky 2nd day hair. Other than that? HG styling product all the way.
This product rocks. If you are looking for something to give your hair some oomph look no further. The pinpoint delivery system allows you to concentrate the bulk of the product at the roots where it is most needed. Aquage then recommends combing it out for even distribution. The most amazing part of this product is how well it preforms while being completely touchable, and literally never stiff or sticky. This is something I recommend for a variety of hair types but when paired with Aquage Sea Salt Texturizing Spray it is UNREAL for fine hair. Love it!
I have used this product a couple of times now, and let me just say...WOW!!!! I am in love! It is amazing the volume it gives my fine, thin hair. I have never had a mousse, gel, or anything else give me this kind of fullness. I would absolutely recommend it and will keep using it no matter the price. For anyone who was disappointed in this, perhaps try using a little more, and only spray it directly onto your scalp in 4 or 5 parts in your hair.
I bought this after my stylist used it on me a few times with great results. She uses it all over for a thickening/voluminous effect. I have used it just on my roots because it can make my hair greasy faster when a lot is used. Using just on my roots before I blow it out, it gives me great volume and doesn't get greasy for about 2 days. It doesn't make my hair feel sticky at all, which is a problem I've had with a lot of root boosters. I would buy it again, and I have.
I bought this product after my hair stylist used it a few times on me. My hair is very thick and heavy, and the weight tends to make it go flat at the roots. This product gives it the volume that I need and is good to use just before blowing my hair dry. I really like the fragrance - it's very fresh smelling, just like all Aquage products. Only gripe is that it's so expensive! But the cheaper products I've tried just don't work as well; they either make my hair greasy, make it crunchy or don't do much good at all. I'm kind of frugal so will keep trying a variety of similar products to see if there is something cheaper that works as well before deciding if this is my HG product.
My mom bought this for herself, then passed it on to me and I just kind of keep it in my arsenal. I find mousse to be pretty drying, so instead of applying it directly to my roots, I mix it with a frizz creme.
Typically, I let my hair dry most of the way and then twist it into a bun to let it set. When I let it out, I have a nice wave to my hair. It gives me a nice, natural amount of body. Strangely enough, it usually looks better the next day.
I think this product is fairly expensive, and I don't think it does anything that a $5 mousse couldn't do. Probably wouldn't repurchase.
I actually use the Freezing Foam by the same company. What a terrific product!
I wear my hair short. It's never had much body, but lately, for reasons unknown, whatever body I have has disappeared and my hair was just kind of sticking to my head. I noticed the product on the shelf and asked my hair stylist if I could try it.
I use mousse by Big Sexy Hair, and blow my hair dry. Then I put between four and five pumpfuls into my hands, mostly up toward the finger area of my hand. I rub it into my hands and then I put it all over my hair, especially the places that I know will fall flat in about ten minutes. I like my hair to look tousled but this stuff would allow me to wear my hair spiked if I wasn't too old. I kind of scrunch my hair and where I have some stubborn cowlicks, I put extra. I either let it air dry or I use a hair dryer on low. It doesn't take much time to dry on its own so I don't use the hair dryer unless I'm in a huge hurry. It dries kind of stiff but you can gently smooth your fingers through your hair to tame it to the way you want it to look and it will look that way for at least eight hours. I don't usually smooth it because it doesn't make my hair look artificial.
What's neat is that you can just wet your hands and rejuvenate any area that has fallen during the day and it rejuvenates the product. I'm pretty picky and I don't have to do that very often.
It makes your hair very shiny and it smells terrific. Even my cats like the smell!
I can't give it high enough recommendations!
Nothing else can compare to this product. If gave my roots so much lift and body. I can't get enough of it, in fact I love the whole Aquage line. I like the smell and how easy it is to work with. I will continue to use this product for many more years to come.
