I really like these lip glosses by Nars except for the texture... they are very sticky. All of the lip glossing come in very many different shades which are all fabulous.
Rave review for this lip gloss! I was lucky to own one which was given by a friend and I fell in love with it on my first use! The color is vivid, very moisturizing without being too thick. This is the only gloss I tried that stays true to its color after hours of wear. I have to say that this gloss opened the doors for me to include other Nars stuff in my collection.
Thank you, MakeupAlley, for your advice on NARS lip gloss!! Normally I would not pay this much for lip gloss, but I have to say, the Larger Than Life line of NARS gloss is well worth the money!! (I recommend trying on different shades until you find ones that suit you, but I intend to buy this in at least one more shade so this is a general review.) NARS makes all kinds of gloss, but I got the Larger than Life gloss in Piree. It is shiny without looking greasy, just a natural moist look. It lasts much like lipstick but is moisturizing. I've had problems with lip gloss that dries my lips out, looks unnatural, or doesn't last, but this gloss lasts and makes my lips look a lot healthier for wearing it. (I got some Buxom glosses as a gift and thought they were good, but after an hour my lips looked all shriveled and dry, so I went searching again.) FYI, the NARS color I ended up choosing is extremely flattering for pale blondes. You can go with a natural-looking color, like Piree, or a more fashion-conscious color for a more "made up" look. You can also wear a little or a lot - it will layer a bit for more pigmentation. I highly recommend trying different colors until you find what you'll wear most and then shelling out for this one, ladies!
I never thought I'd like this but now I'm hooked! Revolt (discontinued) is my favorite (sheer grape jelly purple). Love the thick, sticky consistency & the super-shiny wet-look texture. Wears a long time & moisturizes my winter-dry lips like crazy. Wand applicator holds a small amount of gloss but it's just the right amount for an application, so I don't have to keep redipping & I don't have to waste product with too much excess at one time. Quite costly for a lipgloss, so I'm looking for alternative methods of purchase at lower cost. ;) Looking forward to sampling more shades.. continued >>
NARS lip gloss in Easy Lover is a clear, translucent wash of extremely shiny true magenta -- not hot pink as it is described on the NARS website. I was seeking a hot pink, which to me, would mean kinda bright, like geranium pink. But this is a purplish magenta containing tiny pink sparkles. I already have naturally pink lips, so on me, it ends up looking almost a berry tone, just a juicier version of my own lip color. It's nice, but I'm not sure I'm sold on it.
I always have high hopes for these glosses as they are such gorgeous colors. However, I just can't get past the odor, the gloppy consistency and the strange taste. This is really surprising, as I know others have complained about it and the company still has not addressed these issues.
I LOVE Nars lip glosses!!! I really like the smooth, thick consistency of these glosses and the colors are absolutely gorgeous! I find these to be very long-lasting and provide a nice sheen. Sure, they may be a bit expensive, but I think the quality of these glosses are well worth the price.
I have these in Chihuahua, Super Orgasm, Turkish Delight, Greek Holiday, Oasis, and Angelika, and I'm looking into adding more into my collection!
I am in love with these lipglosses! Not only are the colors wonderful, but it leaves my lips super moisturized. I have a real problem with chapped lips...and have tried just about anything on the market to combat them. This lipgloss actually delivers better results than other chapsticks I have tried. It would be perfect (too perfect) if it also came with SPF. Overall, it is expensive, but you get what you totally pay for.
PROS: Pretty colors.
CONS: Smell like they've gone bad a long time ago, even when new. Very, very goopy and sticky.
ALTERNATES: You're so much better off with Relvon glosses from the drugstore.
this lip gloss feels light on.the colors are highly pigmented and beautiful.
