This is my new go-to lipstick for work. I am a young WOC and have NW45 skin. Beautiful and understated is what this lipstick is. Just the right hint of red/brown/pink shows on my lips. Well done, NARS.

Well, I am a MUA, and I must say I am very impresses with this lipstick, itțs a beautiful , matte, lovely color that look very natural , I love it. I was amused by the reviewer who said the color belongs to the intimate area, wow this is a very vivid imagination. For those who think it is too matte or drying, a matte lipstick looks more sophisticated and natural than a creamy, droopy one like NYX continued >>

(see pics) I'm so excited to have found a MLBB color. The whole concealer as a nude doesn't work with my lips because my lip color is so different from my skintone. I'm around NC40 and my lips are pretty pigmented, and have uneven coloring so It's difficult to find nudes and neutrals that don't wash me out and clash with my skintone. Most things I try appear too cool on me. My bare lips are darker on the outside and lighter inside and are pinkish brown with a bit of mauve, so for me the color description of pink brown is spot on. Since my lips are pigmented, I can see a pink tone. Great everyday color. I can use out of the tube no problem, but I can see where lighter skinned women may have a problem. It's opaque, which is necessary for my lip color.
I tried looking for a less expensive dupe within the Sephora brand rouge cremes (similar texture imo), but the neutrals didn't have the nice balance of pink and brown that this has. The one that came closest was almost a dupe, but too yellow so it made me look sick.
Overall I love this color and it's worth every cent. My only gripe is the dryness. I just put clear gloss over it and it does the trick. Lasts pretty long on me too.

This is the only lipstick that I have EVER repurchased....in fact, I'm on my third tube! I have very pale, slightly yellowish skin and Pigalle works perfectly on me. It's a lipstick that has actually got me compliments and I've had 2 people ask for the name and have purchased it because of how it appears on me (one said it looked very "modern"). On my skin/lips, it is the perfect matte pinkish brown and it does make my teeth appear whiter. As the day goes on, and it fades or I bite it off, it wears off naturally - not leaving garish telltale signs of old lipstick. I keep an older tube in my purse and the older it gets, the dryer the formula is...don't love that, but actually the drier the tube, the longer it lasts on my lips so it's a good trade-off. Very pleased - I hope they never discontinue this!

Much like reviewer SolarTantrum, I am so over the moon about this lipstick. I had been looking at it for a couple of years but never tried it on. Well, today was the day, and I am so glad I finally got this! I have been looking for the perfect neutral-ish, MLBB lipstick and have bought so many from MAC during my search, but Nars has done what no other brand could do for me. The formula is semi-matte which is great because if it were completely matte it would be too drying. Will just a smidge of lip balm underneath, I am good to go. My lips feel comfortable and the lipstick isn't budging at all. That's how a great quality lipstick is supposed to perform. Opaque coverage that I love because I don't need a lip liner with this and I need a lip liner for most lipsticks to either tone down or blend my own natural lipline...I was so surprised at how good this color looks on me -- color description on the Nars site is "pink chocolate" and though I was mislead by that at first, I find that this is very accurate. I am no longer looking for that HG pinkish neutral or "everyday" lippie--I've found it :) Totally worth the $24 and I will be buying again and again once I use it up. Nars please don't ever discontinue this!! (MAC C7, Px Antelope, Becca Syrup for reference)

Yes this lipstick is a bit dry because it's a matte color, but it didn't bother me. If it bothers others I would suggets using a little lip balm with it. On me this a dark brownish pink, which is really flattering and very appropriate for the office. It lasts on me too. This is the one of the only lipsticks I've actually repurchased, and the only NARS product I've ever re-purchased. I will buy it again when I run out if it's still available. As far as packaging goes I love the look of the black casing of NARS lipsticks.

Pigalle is brick red on me. I like the texture and finish of this very matte lipstick. I'm not positive the color is my best color, and it's weird to me that it's nowhere near YLLB on me -- it's much darker, and my lips are more pink. I think this is a great lipstick but I'm not sure about his shade for me.

This was supposed to be a chocolate pink. What happened? To salvage this shade, I have to plaster a darker lipgloss over it. What a disappointment!

Naw.... NOT the HG for me. I agree with the many reviewers a few steps below here -- including 1 "Top Reviewer" -- who find this particular NARS lipstick to be (1) much too drying, even WITH balm underneath it (unlike some of his others, which are just fine), and (2) not at ALL a "pink chocolate" colour despite its imitative claims: neither in the tube nor upon the lips. Clinique's eponymous L/S is FAR superior in every way (& debuted long before Francois Nars was even born) -- & I'm sincerely praising the beautifully unique Clinique version despite being 100% underwhelmed by most other Clinique items. // DO note that despite both NARS & Clinique each calling their L/S a "Semi-Matte", Clinique's version is neither flat (as in 1-dimensional!), nor drab, nor drying to the lips -- all of which I find the NARS version IS, alas. Note too how 1 MUA'er here says "Pigalle" brings out "every line" in her lips. It did in mine, too -- & no other L/s has EVER done that to me. // But worst, O worst of all: NARS' "Pigalle" -- again, both in the tube & on the lips -- is the distinct colour of certain body parts I think I shouldn't mention on a public site. (Yet it's probably the reason F. Nars gave this lipstick the name he did, for the "Pigalle" is the raunchiest, seamiest Red Light district in Paris.) After all, does anyone really want their lips to be the colour of _ _ PP _ _ S ? It's a funny idea but the reality is, um, VERY bizarre on the mouth -- to say the least! :D continued >>

I am starting to become such a huge fan of NARS lipsticks. So many girls on the site think that their blushes are the best but I am actually starting to think that the Lip Glosses and the cream lipsticks are the highlights of this brand.
Pigalle is described as a semi matte pink choclate and this is actually true. This lipstick can be worn with a variation of make up looks and with a gloss on top (I use All Night Long) one can transform this to a sexy evening look. I think this will become a staple color.
NOTE: Pigalle worn alone is an excellent nude color for dark, Tan or golden skin tones. Highly recommended by Essence magazine as a good nude pick! Sometimes what is conventionally considered to be nude lipstick does not work for us as it is always too pale or appears ashy in color. Pigalle or Moracco from NARS achieves this look with perfection. I personally can raise the right hand for Pigalle. This one is so excellent that I have ordered Moracco.

You know you've picked a winner when you're too busy using product to write about it. I've had this lipstick for almost a year, and despite recent purchases (Bobbi Brown Pink Truffle, i'm talking to *you*!), I keep coming back to this. I never thought I could find a pinkish/nude color in a gloss, much less a lipstick, but here it is! On my already pink/pigmented lips, this downplays the pink a little but never looks muddy or flat, and looks great with my skintone (CCC/GGG/NC45) Granted, I have to put on lip balm underneath it, but that's fine -- it wears well and is foolproof. Absolutely perfect for work.

I am not much of a lipstick person (usually just wear nudes) but this color is PERFECT on me. It looks dark in the tube but when applied with a lip brush the color is just amazing.
It my a perfect shade - neutral medium pink/red/brown/plum.
It goes with my fair/neutral skin, and brightens my whole face - really. It goes with so many looks. I've gotten many compliments on it.
The consistency is wonderful, applies smooth and isn't drying, and it lasts longer than most lipsticks I use (including MAC).
I think the price tag is a bit hefty - but it is NARS!

I am really on the fence about this product and because of that I will probably return it. For the price tag it carries it should be a perfect lipstick. However... I believe the main problem and the reason I liked it in Sephora when I first saw it was the light. While all lipsticks change colour depending on the light you're in, I believe that this lipstick's colour is in particular affected by the light in which you find yourself, hence mixed reviews below. Top that off with the factor of your natural lip colour and you've got yourself 2 criteria that you can't control much. I do agree with reviewers that this lipstick has to be put on very lightly as it is easy to tip into the "brown" territory. I also believe that people who naturally have more colour in their lips may see more of a "pink" in this colour as this morning I added a light layer of Stila stain and saw a colour that I hoped this would be in the first place. While I coould go on layering stain underneath this lipstick, I won't. It's too expensive for such exercise, plus, I hate layering products. I want a lipstick to be perfect out of the tube (I know, I'm asking too much), especially for $30 CAD. Anyhow, I'll give it another day, but I think this is going back to Sephora. I will update.

When I first bought this in Sephora, it seemed to be exactly what I was looking for, a pretty natural looking brownish pink. Well, I've had this product for a few days now and here's what I've come to realize: the formula is a bit dryer than I'd like, the color doesn't last very long, and it's very easy to apply too much. By apply too much, I mean that this shade comes out very brown if I'm not careful. I usually find that I have to blot my lips several times and put gloss on top before I get the look I want. This wouldn't bother me so much if I hadn't spent an exorbitant $23 on this lipstick. Every time I blot I feel as if I'm wasting it. I doubt I'll buy this again, in fact, I might even return the tube I have. We'll see.

I love the color! I hate the formula ;( It doesn't last and it is a bit drying too. I've used cheaper brands like Revlon and Avon that I like much better. I bought it to see what the fuss was about NARS, but this product did not impress me.

this is a great chocolate lipstick, not too drying, very smooth and pigmented. it is supposed to be a pink brown, but it is not that pink, more mauvey-brown or something on my light warm skintone. i definitely prefer clinique's 'pink chocolate' lipstick, my hg, but this is a good alternative when i want to go darker, more brown.

Nice, semi matte, well pigmented not too light not too dark pink brown. I have light golden olive skin and eyes and black hair, and this suits me. It also looks as if it is a univerally flattering shade that would suit other skin tones. Just perfect, classic.

This is my favorite, all-purpose, go-to colors. It's a pinky/plummy-beige color that I would image would suit a with variety of complexions. Pigalle with the Harlow gloss on top is a classic combination. I wear Pigalle in combination with my collection of plummy/rosey brown and beige shadows as a failsafe, look-good-anytime face.

Beautiful, matte classic shade of pink-brown. Not too drying, stays put, makes my teeth look white...Love it!
