I really like this product. It does not weigh my hair down, makes it less frizzy and more manageable when styling. It also has a nice fresh sent. I only use about 5 sprays and I have had this for over a year.
I have used other stying wax-mists and they are way to heavy. In addition, I usually have to be careful with amount applied or my hair will look greasy. I do not have this problem with Aveda light elements detailing mist-wax. Great product

I use this, and the finishing solution together on damp hair and scrunch it up then finish the style with hairspray and a little of the sap moss, all three products together make my hair look AWESOME!

After trying (and liking quite a bit) Paul Mitchell spray wax, I was eager to try this mist wax as well. I didn't really like it. My hair is fine and thin, and this product was too heavy. I ended up giving it to a friend with thick, coarse hair in the hopes that it will work better for her hair type. It also made my hair feel a bit gunky (that doesn't happen with the Paul Michell) and didn't really do anything nice for my hair. The smell was nice, but this product just wasn't for me. I do love the smoothing fluid in this same line though.

I forgot I had this stuff. I used to use this on my shorter hair and really didn't like it, but now that my hair is shoulder length with layers I pulled it out again since I was looking for something to give my hair some texture. I had been using B & B Thickening which I like, but I feel that it can be drying so I tried this again. I really like how it gives light texture without drying. It also made my hair fuller. I really like it, but I'm not too crazy about the smell or the way it sprays out of the nozzle, so that's why I removed a lippie. continued >>

This is a very lightweight spray wax. Years ago they discontinued Redken Traction which I loved...this is the only thing that I've ever found to replace it. It is a non aerosol pump, and I use it to add texture and definition to my dry and sometimes frizzy looking ends and layers, and also to help smooth any flyaways. It works very well without adding a lot of weight or a 'product-y' feel. AND when your pump bottle runs out you can buy a huge refill bottle to pour into it.

I have thin, straight hair and this gives it some body and texture without the hair feeling like it has product in it. It also tames any flyaways. I spray it on damp hair after the shower and comb through and then style as usual. Nothing else I have tried gives the same results. If i want to pull my hair back and put it up, this stuff is great to keep the tiny hairs in front in place.

This stuff is very effective at helping me achieve a piecy, funky, textured look. Here's what I do: I follow Be Curly with Confixor and let my hair air dry, and I scrunch it now and then to make sure it curls up more than if I just let it hang. After it dries I spray the Mist-Wax into my hair, and follow with some hair spray. The second or third day after using these products (and not washing my hair of course) is great for updos!
I took off one lippie because this product leaves a little to be desired if you use it all alone - I have to put a creamy product in my hair when I'm using the mist wax to get the texture I'm looking for.

I have fine, very wavy hair which can get really frizzy without some control. I use this over my Be Curly to try give my hair some hold from recommendation of my hair stylist but it doesn't seem to do much. This spray goes EVERYWHERE which makes me worry that my face will break out from it but it hasn't more than usual. The scent is light so it's more friendly than other Aveda products. I have tried this twice when I straightened my hair for a more textured look and it works better for that but not enough where I would recommend to buy a bottle.

My favorite texturizer! This gives definition to my fine, angled hair without any stickiness or noticeable consistency when I run my fingers through, which is good since the idea behind piecy hair is that the bed did it, not a stick of glue So few texturizing products can be worn by those of us with fine, straight hair. This is great!

I was skeptical about this product but it's one of a kind- it's basically like a soft gel/hairspray that gives your hair just the minimum amount of separation and texture. I usually use it after pomade to prevent the latter greasing down the hair by the end of the day. It holds the style in place without any crunchiness or dry feel you usually get with hairspray. The hold is light and relaxed.

This works really well with my fine, thin, shoulder length hair. I was using pomades from the drugstore because I wanted to add texture to my hair, but they were all so sticky and weighed my hair down. My stylist introduced me to this, and I really like it. I put a little of this Mist-Wax on my hair while it's still damp and twist sections of my hair while blow-drying to create waves. When it's dry, I spray a little more on my hands and work it through my hair. I don't find it sticky at all, it feels really light, although I think it it important not to use too much so it doesn't weigh the hair down. It is expensive, but it's exactly the type of product I need, so to me it's worth the price.

This is really good for defining my layers w/out adding stiffness. Only thing is, if you overdo it... your going to end up with a sticky mess. I had to play around with it to determine how much i needed. The price is a little high, but for me, a little goes a long way... and i've been on the same bottle for 4 months. I'll continue to repurchase as it gives me that piecy look i can't find with any other product.

I got this over the weeknd, so I've only used it a couple of times, but so far I like it. It gives a little hold & separation with no stiffness or stickiness. I use the Defining Whip on places where I want a bit more hold & they work well together. **12/5/05 UPDATE** Now I don't think this works so well. I'm not sure what changed but my hair was seriously limp, plus something is making the back of my neck break out, it could be this. This is maybe not so good for those with fine hair. 12/29/05 UPDATE I returned this & my neck has stopped breaking out, so I guess it was to blame. continued >>

I bought this after my stylist used it on me. The thing is I am not sure why I bought it because although my hair looked great after I left the salon, towards the end of the day it was out of place and looked like it hadn't been styled at all. I spray this throughout my hair when it's damp, then I blowdry and then I put some on my hands and run it lightly over my sideswept bangs to give them some hold. It works okay. I do like that my hair looks completely natural after I use this, like there is no product in it. I think styling products should work that way. If I use too much though it looks greasy, and if I don't use enough the hair just flops back in my way again in 2 hours. So I might be returning this and getting the Defining Whip instead. Love the herbal-lavender scent though.

i am not a huge aveda fan, but the light elemts line is perfect in every way for my "normal" hair. i use this all over my shoulder length layered hair, and it gives a slight piece-y look, without any buildup, dullness, or slippery, greasy fake shine. the smell is just mildly lavender-y, and the pump never clogs-i got this on amazon for half price from some wierd fragrance website. my hg styling product.

I do not know what to make of this product.
When I spray it on my hair, most of it end up on the floor, because the spray is so wide. Makes the floor very slippery!!
It is better to apply the product with the hands.
Makes my hair greasy if I apply too much, and doesnt work at all if I use too little. My hair is straight and fine. I think it would work better on curly hair. Also: the smell is weird...

I bought this product after my stylist used it on me, but of course I wasn't sure what to do with it once I brought it home! I used it on damp hair and ended up with a floppy, gluey mess. (I have chin-length wavy-curly hair.) I put it aside for a while, and more recently I gave it another try. Now I use it as a finishing product, and it works beautifully in this way. After I've applied some Ouidad Tress FX to my damp hair and dried it with a diffuser, I give it just a few *very* light spritzes wiith the Mist Wax. The wax calms any potential flyaways and gives a little more definition to the curls. Very nice!

This spray smells so good I sometimes just give my hair a spritz so that I can smell it all day. It works well at giving me that piecey, messy look. The only drawback is that is can sometimes get a little sticky if I use too much.

The product is okay, but after reading the reviews I expected more of this. I think I have to spray more of this, maybe that helps. Smell is not great. I find it very expensive as well.

Pretty good styling product. I use it kind of like a hairspray, where I style my bangs. Not tacky, but not hairspray hold either. I am thinking of taking it back to try the whip for a bit more hold, but we'll see. Just bought the finishing creme, so I will see how these work together...maybe that'll do it.
