I don't like her matte lipsticks at all.Too drying, colors morph into some strange color on lips. The colors you select from her website certainly don't look like what you ordered when the l/s arrive.

I ordered several samples of this lipstick in warying shades of pink. I did not like it at all. It was just too drying for the lips. Plus, none of it was really pink in color. It was more on the reddish side.

I must admit that I'm not a fan of PC lipstick. They are too dark for my skin tone. On me they look harsh and aging. I pefer lighter lipsticks in pale pink and cool toned colors.

I am PPP and use the soft cream blush in Peony, mauve, and natural blush. They have great staying power when put on top of a lipliner. They are creamy and moisturizing, and not drying at all (even on my dry dry lips); yet has amazing staying power. They are very natural looking also, and not loud or garish. UPDATE: 1/10/07; I have ditched all these l/s's b/c I exclusively use Revlon Colorstay l/s due to their excellent staying power. PC l/s do not compare. Will not buy again. 2 lipsticks for creaminess and great color choice.

Paula has great lipsticks, my favorite is "light burgundy" a wonderful semi matte texture and I love her creamy lipsticks.

I love these lipsticks. I use the cream and not the matte. They do have a slight fragrance but it is not overbearing. The colors are very saturated and neutral. Most importantly they are long lasting. The only thing I do not like about this lipstick is the packaging. The packaging itself is lovely, but I have broken many of the caps quite easily. I wish they were stronger.
Update: The packaging has changed. It is lovely an very Chanel-like. No more breaks!!! Thanks

Yuck! I tried the Matte lipstick in a color called Berry Sorbet. Hated the color, but more importantly, hated the texture. I guess in Paula's world, Matte is synonymous with dry. I will stick with the L'Oreal & Lancome lipsticks I enjoy instead. This is not a commentary on Paula's entire line of cosmetics or skin care (which I've just started to try), but on one particular product, which has been sub-par. continued >>

I love the soft cream lipsticks. They don't bleed and the colors are flattering. Natural Blush and Autumn Blush are my favorites. I have received compliments on them. Will definitely repurchase.

I don't like PC lipsticks. The colors are boring. The have an awful smell. The matte ones are extremely drying. I've tried to like them, but really have decided that they are not very good at all.

You can't go wrong with these lipsticks. No matter which type you like, matte or cream all the colors are flattering. It's just a matter of finding which ones you prefer and that go with your style and clothing. My favorite is Rosebud, which is the perfect red, but not too bright red color. But I also like Sugarplum and Peony/Pink Poppy(same color just one is matte, one is cream)

I have two of the cream formula lipsticks and love them! They go on smoothly, are opaque, and have decent staying power. I have Peony, which is a shimmery cool-toned reddish-pink, and Rosebud, which is a mid-deep cooler-toned red (not blood red, more like a plummy red).
I have tried the matte formula in the past in Pink Poppy. Loved the color, didn't love the formula - too drying for my lips and didn't feel smooth. Peony is the exact same color but in a different formula.

I bought the Chestnut lipstick on a closeout price, and I really do like the texture, but not the color. It's too orange for me, which is funny becuase the description calls it "Spicy warm auburn brown". But the ceeamy smooth texture and opaqueness of the lipstick is nice. I am willing to try this in another color.

I ordered two lipsticks from her Web site, and they were both so dry that I immediately sent them back for a refund. I was very disappointed in them although the other products I ordered were keepers.
No thanks, I'll go back to my previous lipsticks that are the same price.

The texture is gummy and you have to blot for it to be matte. The colors are beautiful, but it isn't all that matte.

Though the colors are great, these go rancid quickly and get very dry (when they begin to drag and smell like a highly perfumed dryer sheet) it's time to say bye-bye

I feel mixed toward these lippies. The cons: the colors are unsuitable for my (warm) skin; only one or two from the mini sets actually look ok on my lips. The pros: they aren't excessively drying yet last a decent amount of time; you can't beat the price to try out several different shades.

I own two of Paula's lipsticks: Rose Brown which is a matte and Glazed Mauve which is a cream. Both of these have shimmer so I guess Paula has toned down her no-shimmer policy, at least for lipsticks. It's a very subtle shimmer--don't expect MAC Plastique or anything. Paula's mattes are true mattes. With the possible exception of MAC lipsticks, the "matte" lipsticks offered by most cosmetic lines are not really that matte, certainly not as matte as these. They aren't for everyone and some will find they are too difficult to apply and feel too drying on the lips. Also I don't consider the totally matte lip look terribly attractive; the addition of a bit of shimmer to Rose Brown does make it a little more flattering than her non-shimmery mattes. The payoff is that these last as well as any traditional lipstick on the market--with Lipfinity and Cover Girl Outlast not included in the traditional lipstick category. The cream formula has a creamier, glossier finish that feels more comfortable on the lips than the matte version without being too greasy. Needless to say the creams don't last as well as the mattes although the staying power is respectable for a lipstick of this type. Paula's color selection is somewhat mediocre. It leans heavily towards brown-based shades and your options are limited if you prefer cool tones. I agree with others who say that Paula's idea of a cool shade is different from theirs--some of her "cools" are more what I would categorize as warm or at least neutral. The truly cool shades she does have are more pink/red/rose type shades and she doesn't have a good plum/berry shade as most lines do. As for the two colors I own, Glazed Mauve is pretty much what it sounds like, a medium rosey-mauve with a slight shimmer. Rose Brown is a rose shade that's more neutral and less pink than the Glazed Mauve but not as brown as I expected, I would call this more of a rose with a hint of brown than a rosy brown. It also has a slight shimmer. I would say these have a slight scent to them but nothing as intrusive as L'Oreal or Laura Mercier. The packaging is very similar looking to Bobbi Brown's and does have a somewhat more elegant look than some of Paula's other products. Of course if you're familiar with Paula's products you know that her packaging is always more functional than fashionable. As others have said, Paula's sample packs are a great deal and you can try all of the matte and cream shades for less than $5.

I found several colors in the creamy formula that work for me. They have some stain and feel okay if your lips are not too dry. They also don't migrate into the fine lines, which is great since I don't use lipliners. No taste or smell but I did notice they start to smell rancid after about 9 months, but at this price I can buy more.

I've ordered several times, the mini samples and had a lipstick party w/friends and gave them out. The color selection is adequate, but would like to see more. The texture of the matte lipsticks are wonderful. I am very picky, and these have no fragrance and really stay on, even after rubbing. I've been on a search for a holy grail lipstick for staying power-this is it so far.
