OMG, what a beautiful matte deep red rose colour this is! Highly pigmented so a little goes a long way. I have teamed this with Nars Miss Liberty and it looks gorgeous together! Beautiful.

When the girl behind the MAC counter put this blush on me- i loved it, when i got home and put it on myself, i hated it.
I think it's a mixture of the fact that-
1- I dont apply it as well as the Mac girls.
2- The Lights in the shop are alot more flattering then my dingy home.
3- I'm probably using too much.
With all that being said, i still dont think i like it which is a real shame, it's just too red, matte and dull.

I don't like the mac packaging in general it just feels too plastic and cheap, so it is not a reflection of this particular product. The blush itself is amazing, it is the perfect go to colour. Not very bright and fake but subtle and natural. It is a sort of rosy red and is very buildable. The best way I can describe it is that it shows up like an amplified version of pinching your cheeks. It appears as a very natural colour that fits in with most skin tones as if they were born with it. I think it is definitely a classic and elegant effect. Very feminine and glamorous when dusted over lightly but can be more dramatic if applied with heavier hand. It does not contain any bright coral or pink shading what so ever so if you want your blush to really stand out this is not the one, but if you want a nice subtle effect this is the one (at least for my skin tone it is).

NW20 here...black/brown hair, brown eyes
When I swatched Desert Rose next to MAC Mocha I was so surprised that it was so similar to Mocha on me. I mean really, really similar. DR is a deeper version of Mocha on me. Any way, DR was one of the blushes I was considering when I wanted to buy a new blush (also looked at Breath of Plum, Tenderling, & Dame). I opted not to buy it because it was so similar to Mocha and I already have Mocha. continued >>

I purchased this blush because a lot of my friends have commented on how good mac blushes are. Being more of a powder blush fan as a pose to cream blushes, i went to the powder blush section of the mac store. Out of all the shades, I thought this one best suited me (I have olive skin), even though it is more of a plum colour and i tend to go for corals...
it is very pigmented as pointed out by other user reviews; but of course this isn't a huge issue, it just means the product will last longer which is a good thing!!
This means the blush has to be blended into the skin more than other blushes (well for me anyway) to make it look more natural.
overall i am really enjoying this blush, but does anyone know any more coral-ly shades? Thanks!!

This is a wonderful matte color that may people could probably wear. I do agree with many of the reviewers in saying that this is very, very pigmented. You have to have a very light hand and build up the color. I normally dip my brush gently onto the surface of any blush to get an even coat of color, but the first time I used this, I think I put the brush down too hard, and I had to use powder to "dilute" the color on my cheeks. However, this is one of my favorite blushes.

Really pigmented, nice colour. Though it is too dark for me and I have to blend it out so much!

This is such a beautiful color. The only thing i didn't like that its so pigmented, I barely put some on my brush. Anyways, the color stayed on ALL DAY and gave me a nice color.

This is such a beautiful blush. Its a mauvy, pink / rosy nude color. It gives the most natural flush of color on my skin tone. Its is very buildable and nice for everday. Its gives a very natural and healthy glow to my skin.
A lot of powder blushes give that powdery/chalky finish to the skin and I think that this i not the case with this even though it is matte. A must have if you're olive to dark tone.

My first MAC blush.
Nice color. Was nice for the first week and then... DRIED UP?! Didn't know that was possible for a powder blush. I didn't get it wet or anything weird like that in fact, I used it very hygienically and normally. I had to scrape off the top layer with a knife-- which works a little -- but it was never the same again. It was a bit chalky to begin with. anyways. Drugstore quality. Doesn't last long. It's ehhh.
Bottom line: overpriced.

This is the most divine pink blush. Applies like a dream with my MAC 187 stipling brush and looks really natural on my DDD skin. I think this works so well on my skin because it has a decent amount of brown in it and so it comes off looking natural and not garish in any way. Overall, i would highly recommend this for anyone who is scared to rock a pink blush. You'll love it.

This blush gives off a beautiful natural flushed look. Anyone who says it's too red/pink is putting it on to heavily...the girls at the mac counter only very lightly brush it across your cheeks and then you can build the colour. It gives great colour and lasts all night when I go out. A big fan. Just wish it didn't cost so much. If you're looking for a slightly lighter shade then try the colour "Mocha" by MAC.

This blush is amazing! The first MAC blush i ever purchased in 08' and I havent stop loving it since. It is my HG blush. Its buildable if you use a light hand but i'm NC45 so one swipe on each side is good for me for that natural no make-up face. I've used it on more fair skin girls than myself and it always looks awesome. Everyone should own this blush, seriously, it is such a natural flush color! LOVE IT!

This is a great color, you can layer it for a slightly pink effect to a full on flush. Lasts forever, goes on well over both liquid and/or powder foundation. Not a hint of a sparkle or shimmer which is what I was looking for. Why it's so hard to find good matte finish products these days is beyond me. Not all of us are 17 and enjoy shiny/glittery makeup. This is definitely a great product, I will be purchasing again and in a few different shades.

I passed this blush on the counter bcos i thot it wld not show up on my NC50 skin. Until I decided to swatch it. It changed to a deeper, reddish brown tint. And so I fell in lurve! Its still love after the honeymoon phase LOL. I mix it up with hipness to make it more pink, and turn it up with Nars exhibit A.

This is my first MAC blush that I purchased and I don't regret it at all! The color is a very deep, rosy pink that would look great on all skin tones. The trick to getting this blush to look nice is choosing the right brush for application. Because this blush is very pigmented, I use a duo fiber brush to limit the amount of product I apply to my cheeks. If you are a performer of any sort, this is a good blush for you. It's matte, it gives you a healthy flush of color and it doesn't overpower your face.

MAC describes this shade as a "soft reddish-burgundy (Matte)" and the description is very accurate on my complexion. (Reference I wear either NC or NW 15). It looks pretty intense and a little scary in the pan compared to other blushes I own, but with a light hand and blending it shows up as a natural healthy flush to my cheeks. The pigmentation is excellent and with the small amount I require I can't imagine ever running out or hitting pan on this one. The shade is matte, but it doesn't look completely flat on my skin which I really appreciate about this shade. Overall very happy with my purchase and a nice addition to my collection.

This is my first and, therefore, oldest MAC blush. I've no idea how many years I've had it but it's a LOT! I hit pan on it maybe 2 years ago but it's still going strong and I could probably get another 2 years' use out of it, though I don't use it all that much any more (it's in my gym bag and I use it after showering at the gym). A very pretty, flattering colour for my NW20 skin-tone. Looks natural and is beautifully matte but not "flat" looking.

This is my first MAC blush, which I received in a swap almost brand new. It is a beautiful mauvey rose color in the pan, and on the cheeks it becomes a gorgeous natural flush. It does not look chalky, and because it isn't shimmery, it looks natural! I don't think I will ever run out, but if I do, I will definately buy another. I don't own any other high end blushes to compare the quality to, but I do know that this is an amazing product!
