I received a sample of Tarte's 24/7 lip sheer in Friday from Beauty.com. This product is not a lip sheer but is a heavily pigmented lip balm. Friday on my lips looks like a dark brick red with maybe a little brown--I would prefer another color-softer and more pink or sheer cherry red. I can see where this would be a great product to use especially for those who like to spend time outdoors--it is small and portable (in a tube like a Chapstick) has spf and adds as much color as a lipstick. It isn't as moisturizing as I would like it to be, but it does provide some hydration. I like for my lips to feel softened and a little slippery from a balm (never greasy or goopy though) and this one is more of a dry, matte balm. If I found a color that works better with my skin (I am fair-medium), I may get this again.

This isn't sheer by any means, but I love this nonetheless. The color is a rather vivid berry on me. I love that this has the feel and texture of a chapstick but with the color payoff of a lipstick.
This is a bit bright on me so I wear it mainly in the evenings. For the office is generaly wear Thursday.

I like the lip sheers idea. For me the point is to be able to apply some color to my lips very quickly, without spending much time.
This particular color is not great for that purpose because it's not very sheer and you do want to look in a mirror and make sure you don't end up with clown lips. I have used better sheer reds and berries for this purpose (e.g. Clinique almost lipstick)
It is a bit drying for me, especially in winter.
I gave it 4 stars however instead of 3 because these are so practical. I can keep this in my pocket as the only "touchup" item and make myself look presentable. The reason for this is, it can double as a cheek tint very easily. For this reason, i will probably buy these lip sheers again when I run out.
EDITING: After using these for a while, I must say, they really are drying. Taking off a lippe...

This is a lovely berry red. I wouldn't call it "sheer" though - it's quite pigmented for a supposedly sheer lipbalm type product. Reading some of the previous reviews, I was worried that this product would dry out my lips. After trying this in the store (at Sephora's) and later buying it.... I wonder if I got a reformulated product. Mine is more on the moisturizing side. I don't need to use any moisturizers underneath. It's actually similar to a creamy lipstick, with a little bit more staying powder. -- The only con is the packaging: The tube looks cheap, gets scratched easily, the paint wears off and the cap doesn't always close propperly. To avoid having the cap fall off in my purse and gunking up the inside with lipstick, I've spend a whopping dollar (in Chinatown) on a little oriental lipstick "box" that also has a mirror. (At home, I leave my other colors in their original cardboard packaging and only use the "chinese box" for the lippie I'm going to use that day.)

I keep this in my purse as my lipstick. A perfect shade that works for day and night. Non-drying and lasts a long time. Doesn't flake the lips.

Hmmmmm.....don't know how I feel about this one. I almost killed myself to win one on Ebay and save a couple bucks! But ultimately my expecations were different than what this product delivered. First off, the color is great! A really nice berry. "Sheer" is misleading however, because this isn't. Where it really fails me is the texture. When I read "chapstick" I think of a thick lip balm-type feel. For me, I can't tell the difference between this and any ol' lip stick. And it is drying, where chapstick is not. I have to wear a 2nd layer of Burt's Bees over it every time. In the end, it's meh. As an alternative, I recommend Ulta's Liptint in Wine, which I picked up for $4 at a sale. I'll save my money and keep lookin'.

I got this in a Discovery Set from QVC. I've been lemming for this lip sheer in Friday and that was one of the main reasons I decided to buy this kit. I am really surprised at just how pigmented this is. It says Lip SHEER, but I'm not sure if I'd really call this "sheer". But with that being said, this color is very pretty and would probably look good on just about anyone. It's a nice berry color...not too pink and not too purple. I think maybe I'll try just dabbing a little on my lips with my finger to make it more sheer. Otherwise, it doesn't seem that different from regular lipstick to me. But I still like it!!

Oooh, I like this one. When I first saw it, I was like yeah right, that's so not me. I usually go for pinks and peaches. Buttt my friend convinced me to try it out and I ended up in love. It looks natural and prettyful. It lasted a while on me too.

I got a mini version of this in a kit from QVC this week. At first glance I thought this may be too dark for me. I was completely wrong, this is a really pretty color. It comes in the chapstick type container, and applies smoothly. It gives my lips a nice berry stain, darker or lighter depending on how much I put on. It has a little bit of shine, not glossy but not matte either. Love this!

I got the mini of this in a QVC special kit- at first, being a PPP/blonde girl i was afraid it would be too dark, but it worked out quite well. It looks very pretty under gloss too- a very spring-y color. I plan on trying others out.
EDIT- I am finding SO MANY great tarte deals on QVC- it's a great way to try tarte out. I love tarte!

I have mixed feelings about this one... my friend who works for EL swears by them and convinced me to purchase one to try. I really hadn't purchased any lipstains since my nightmare experience w/ Covergirl outlast. So I really didn't know what to expect. Since I live in Germany and there isn't a close enough place to test them on yourself before purchasing, I had to rely on the color swatches online to pick a color. I chose Friday because of the purple-ish hue. When I got it 10 days later, I opened it to discover how dark purple it was in the tube. I used it the next day, and was happy to note it didn't go on that purple on my lips. It did appear the color brightened up (not in a flattering way) to a fuschia on me as the day wore on. I didn't like the chapstick like tube because I wanted more of point so I can apply it with more precision. It might be fine during the summer months when you are out all day and need just a pinch of color on your lips, but not for work. I also thought I didn't choose the right color for my complexion. Maybe if I chose a more red/brown tone, it would flatter me more. Needless to say, I probably won't repurchase until I actually see each of them with my own eyes in person.

i love the lip sheers...such a nice combo of pigment and texture. this is gorgeous on my skin and looks very pretty with a natural eye. some berries look terrible on me b/c my skin is very fair and my hair is such a light blond. but this manages to be bright and dramatic w/o looking like i'm playing dress up. i did take off one lippie just b/c it's not a color i would wear everyday. but in every other aspect (quality, price, consistancy) i think it's fantastic. i love the tube packaging too...perfect for my purse.

I hate traditional lipstick, but sometimes want more color than a gloss can give, this is a nice solution for me. I had been wanting to try a 24/7 Lipsheer for awhile, but was kind of hesitant because I kept hearing about how drying they were to the lips. I got brave and decided to try one and I chose Friday because I was looking for a nice berry color. I am in love! It is super easy to apply and the color looks great! (not too dark, but not too light) I have not experienced any dryness from this product at all. This is such a versatile product; it can be applied directly to lips and layered for a darker color, it can be applied with lip balm underneath for a more sheer color, and you can put gloss over it if you want a glossy lip. Staying power is great as well. I am seriously considering getting rid of the few lipsticks that I have and replacing them with 24/7 Lipsheers. Another great product from Tarte! continued >>

I love the chap stick-esque tube this very pigmented blam comes in. Very small and sporty, perfect to throw in bag or pockets and I don't feel AS vain reapplying in public. The color is a nice red berry--almost cherry on me. There is not any sparkle or gloss quality. Color lasts fairly well. I would re-purchase, but it tends to dry out my lips, so I'll just use up this one tube and say goodbye...oh, and for those thinking it is expensive, it really does last a long time. don't let the little tube fool you.

Quite pricey, but color lasts a loooooong time - I don't have to reapply all day. I don't go for heavy lipsticks and this suited me just fine - sheer color that left my lips moist.

This is a cute product. I love the little chapstick-like case it's in! This color is a very deep and dark red on my lips. Very pretty, and really lasts a long time. I'm not sure I'm bold enough to try to use this on my cheeks, but I definitely love it on my lips if I lighten it up a little with another color.

For a lip sheer product, Tarte makes one of the best - colors go on surprisingly deep and long lasting. Friday (plum/pink) and Saturday (red/brown) are my two favorites. This product doesn't have much gloss to it however...Clinique's Almost Lipsticks are better in that aspect, but I still love this product. I like to use it to color my cheeks as well.

Love the product but not a big fan of paying $$$ for it's chapstick like packaging. Great natural lip color though so I will buy again.

Fun, fun, fun. I got this as a gwp for Tarte at a local beauty event. Nice gift. It's much better than the Delux chap/color stick. This one doesn't leave your lips dry. Good stuff!!!! Can't comment on the price.

While I liked that it came in the easy to apply chapstick container, this product was terrible...and really pricey! It was supposed to be like tinted chapstick, only I don't think it was moisturizing at all--it was hard to spread it on, felt kind of cakey and it started to flake. I put in on perfectly normal lips and it's like it sucked all of the moisture out of them within a few hours.
