St. Ives Intense Healing Hand Cream is a lotion that claims to "heal dry, rough hands" and is "clinically proven to keep hands moisturized all day" Its non - irritating, fragrance free, hypo-allergenic, cruelty free and contains 100% all natural moisturizers like olive leaf extract, cranberry seed oil, and grape seed oil. My mum got this for me at WalMart for $3 for 3 fl oz of product.
Mummy got this for me when I was suffering from a serious case of fast food hands. They're like Nurse's Hands, but with more burns and dried ketchup under your nails, on top of the dryness, redness, peeling, and weak nails. It's pretty uncomfortable and really unsightly.
Packaging of this hand cream is the basic up-right squeeze tube with plastic flip top cap. Nothing reviewable or exciting. The tube seems to collapse on its self as it empties, so there's not much problem getting product stuck at the top. The tube is fairly large, but still fit in my winter coat pocket to take to work with me.
Formula is thick, white, and feels buttery. A little bit goes a pretty long way. I've had this tube for a bit over a year and I still have a little bit left in there. The cream takes a bit longer to sink in because of its thickness. But I feel like that causes it to moisturize deeper and more evenly. The moisture I get from this is good and natural feeling, no greasy or stickiness. The moisture doesn't last as all day like the package claims. I feel the need to reapply after 3-4 hours. Which isn't too bad.
Healing-wise, this cream didn't work any miracles, but it did help. Over a two week period of most of the peeling and soreness went away and dryness was minimized but still there. I still had wrinkly, red, dish water hands. But they were better than before.
I don't like how this cream smells. I don't like super perfumed lotions, as I find them drying, but I also don't like unscented lotions. It reminds me of medical soap/DermaScrub.
All up this is a good hand cream if you have dry, peeling hands. I recommend it to my fellow restaurant cooks. We kept a bottle of it in the office at my work after I initially brought it in. It's budget friendly, functional, a tad greasy, and doesn't smell very good. Just like a cook. ;)

my dry skin was always itchy and irritated after showering and shaving. i've tried Jergens lotion and even Neutrogena body oil. both dont compare to the ST.Ives lotion. it glides on so smoothly and absorbs almost instantly. the scent smells a bit medicated but fades after a few min. i no longer have irritation and the little bumps i had on my knees and shoulders have diminished. plus it leaves my skin soo silky smooth and soft. its super affordable too:)

Awesome lotion!!! I was looking for a widely-available fragrance free lotion that I can use after shaving my legs to calm down the irritation, and one that can double as a hand/all-purpose lotion around the house. This fits the bill! It feels very soothing going on, isn't greasy (though is a little slippery/sticky for the first few mins until it absorbs) and is protective. I haven't yet used this in the winter, so I don't know how hydrating it will ultimately be, but for now it's a great multi-purpose product that doesn't break the bank! St. Ives lotions are incredible. I've tried a handful of other d/s lotions, but none of them impress me as much as St. Ives. I have an infant, so I need products that are quick and affordable. I don't have the money to spend $10+ on a bottle of lotion, and I don't have 5-10 minutes to stand around waiting for my lotion to absorb so I don't stick to everything. St Ives is perfect for that. I think I paid less than $4 for a bottle at Walmart. It's quick to apply, absorbs instantly, and doesn't leave a sticky or greasy residue or overpowering smell. It leaves my skin unbelievably soft, too. I've never used a lotion that makes my skin feel so amazingly smooth. I would definitely recommend!

Got this in a 2/$6 pack at Wal Mart and I keep a bottle on my dresser for my body when I wake up and am getting ready and right before bed on my hands and feet. Thick, but not too thick formula sinks in pretty well and it's not obnoxiously-scented. Love!

It comes with a very pleasant (melony?) scent, and the squeezer makes it look like frosting. Moisturizes very well and it's very cheap when you get it on sale.

Yes, it holds in moisture. And yes, it stays on for a long time. However, I can't say that any of those qualities work in this product's favor. I use body lotion when I feel that my skin feels dry, and so I expect it to moisturize my skin. This doesn't seem to moisturize so much as coat my skin in a protective layer that is unnecessary for me. It only stays on long because it's sticky as hell and doesn't soak in. It at least doesn't have any scent to compete with my perfume and is pretty cheap, as well as non-irritating. I don't think I'll ever finish this 18 oz. bottle.

Did absolutely nothing for my legs this winter when I tried it... skin remained dry and flaky as if I had used nothing! I would have been better off using nothing as then I would have at least saved money!

I have 3 bottles of this miracle stuff! I have them spend out throughout my house (the rooms I'm in the most). I have tried everything for years, but the exhausting search is over. I really thought that with body lotions you "get what you pay for" and I was buying all the expensive junk. But, with dry skin and only 3 bucks in my checking account and wa lah a solution was found! This lotion is so creamy and soft. It absobs perfectly into my skin without leaving any weird residue behind. I put it on head to toe before I go to sleep evey night (Yeah winter) and I wake up silky soft. I will always have some of this on hand and you should too!

It is scented (yes I know it says unscented) but only really slightly. Powdery oats? It's hard to tell. Love that it isn't really greasy, oily, waxy and that it sinks it pretty quickly. Hate that it doesn't do much good.
For one, this probably needs to be reapplied multiple times per day. As in about an hour after you applied it. And it seems to only help the top layer. My hands are soft but I still have callouses and rough/dry spots, if that makes any sense. And my skin is still flaking and cracking. Doesn't heal squat. Perhaps it keeps already healthy moisturized skin from drying out? Not what I brought it for and not buying it again.

A couple of winters ago, I had severely dry, scaly skin. It was disgusting. I tried Lubriderm, but it did nothing. I tried Curel, but it really didn't do anything other than leaving me feeling clammy - I hated it. Finally I ended up trying this one because there was a free promotion going on, and I was very pleased. It didn't leave me sticky or clammy at all, and it worked without having to reapply throughout the day. I used to not be able to skip one day without lotioning my entire body or else I'd get scales. But after a few uses of this, it's helped my skin maintain moisture. I could actually go a couple days if I absolutely had to, without using it, and my skin would still look moisturized and feel soft. Plus you get a ton more lotion for the price compared to the more expensive medicated ones.

This is a very good moisturizer for dry skin, and good for the price, but I'm docking a lippie b/c I like Curel a little better. This is a safe bet, though.

This stuff stinks. Literally. It smells like buttermilk that you left in the trunk of the car for weeks. And it doesn't work. My hands were drier after I used this. Plus the tube feels flimsy, like it'll disintegrate in your hands while you're squeezing out the product.

Ugh. Within an hour, my hands were dry and tight again. Even if a lotion absorbs fast, it should not leave the skin the same an hour later, not the point. I love St. Ives body washes and their apricot scrub, but they fell short on lotion. In comparison to my Gold Bond Ultimate Healing Skin Therapy Lotion (which btw, comes in the same convenient pump container though it is a few bucks more), this stuff fell wayyy short. Okay as a very light lotion but does not live up to its "severe dry skin relief," "intensive healing" claim for longer than an hour. The price is way cheap and I have the whole 18 oz bottle left so I may still use it as a light moisturizer for summer, but I definitely will not buy this again for any real moisturizing job. And especially not up to par for these winter months.

Great Lotion. I would say the best one from theSt. Ives Line. The bottle says Unscented and was extremely happy since everything from ST. Ives now stinks they reformulated their entire product line. This lotion is pretty light and goes on smoothly and also absorbs pretty fast. Ilove the packaging of the pump out tube. You get a huge 500ml bottle for $3. Well worth your money and perfect for upcoming winter months!!!

I have very sensitive, dry skin and am really over all of the heavily scented products on the market right now. I tried this and it's okay. I did have issues with the fragrance. It has sort of a citrus "bite" to it. The formulation itself, is okay, but I prefer the Curel Comforting Lotion - fragrance free. It's more moisturiing, (of course, I also add olive oil to it -- but I do that with everything.) Curel also has a slight scent, but to me it's softer. It also has less chemicals in it than this, which I prefer.

This is a great lotion: moisturizing without any greasiness whatsoever. Also it's pretty dang cheap. The only thing I don't like much is the smell, but it's barely noticeable and disappears pretty quickly. If you have very dry skin, try this!

I've been going thru many different types of body and hand cream/moisturizers. Among the brands that I've tried: Victoria Secret hand & body cream (too greasy, dries too fast), Nivea Body lotion (not moisturizing enough), Eubos hand cream (ok, so-so) , Neutrogena Norwegian hand cream (too thick for my liking), Jergens ultra healing body lotion (quite good, unfortunately I can't find this in my country anymore), Vaseline hand & nail cream (also another good one which I can't find), Clarins hand and nail cream (received as free gift, it's the best, but I can't afford regularly purchasing it) and St Ives Vitamin E cream (not moisturizing enough).
Finally I felt that I can stop searching, I've found my HG moisturizer for hand/body. St Ives Intensive healing does exactly what it says, provides intense moisture and yet is not greasy. It last longer, and BEST of all, it's pricing allows me to slather on the product liberally :) I use it in the morning and at night after I shower. In between, whenever my hands felt dry, they come in handy as well.

This is a review for St. Ives Intensive Relief Advanced Body Moisturizer. I'm guessing it's the newest version of the Intensive Healing Advanced Therapy Lotion.

I wasn't expecting too much of anything when I first bought this. This lotion is formulated for severe dry skin, so I thought what the heck. The price was fairly cheap--around $5 CAD for 600 ml.

The first night I used it, I was very impressed! My skin was instantly soft, silky, and moisturized! St. Ives really lived up to the claims printed on the back of the bottle! This lotion makes an excellent replacement for Olay Quench, which is twice the price of St. Ives.

i am just so glad to find a lotion that is (nearly) scent-free and doesn't cost $10. this was around $4 at my grocery store (probably is less in other stores). it has a nice light scent that i can't stop sniffing on my hands. i can hardly find a basic, scent-free lotion in the drugstore anymore. so i'm sticking with this for as long as i can.
