this product is pretty terrible as far as foundations go....chalky texture that pills up on the skin. NOT blendable at all and poor coverage.

Nice cooling effect when this stick foundation was applied on the face. However, the texture is rough and actually emphasizes the fine lines on the face. It feels sticky and heavy but provides only minimal coverage. Also, the color selection is limited. I used mine only twice and broke out like crazy. Will never touch this again for sure.

This is not a HG for me because it can be a challange to blend on my skin even if I use a foundation brush. However, I love the matte finish for hot yucky days, and I like the cooling sensation. When I am just dying of heat but need coverage, this fits the bill like nothing else. If I lived in a tropical climate I would get more use out of this.

I was using Almay's Clear Complexion before this - and it is a great foundation - but within 3 weeks of purchasing CC, I have a 1/4 of the bottle left since it's poor design has lead to massive leaking. I needed something easy and convenient. I love the idea of stick foundations, but most are either too thick, to matte, or contain sunscreen (I prefer to use sunscreen in my day cream. It allows for more generous coverage). Well, Aveda's Calming/Cooling Cover it wonderful. It contains a lot of water - great for those with combo skin. It is sheer and when applied it feels very comfortable - like I am makeup-free. The finsh is soft-matte/natural. Such a great and easy to use foundation. Highly recommended!

The sales lady told me it actually cools your skin by 5 degrees. After the shower - this is so refreshing. Not that much coverage but eliminates redness and gives a healthy glow. Love this stuff. The little cap to prevent dryness is nice - it's a more natural product and it's good to see that it can go bad if you don't store it properly. Products that don't deteriorate (sp) after time scare me.

I love this foundation stick! It is one of the few foundations I have found that does not have SPF in it - which I love. I prefer my SPF in moisturizer.
This foundation stick has a gel-like consistency and is very lightweight and cooling. It offers light coverage but can be built up. It does not make my oily or cause me to break-out which is very rare.
I find that applying it with a foundation brush gives better coverage.
About the packaging, it is kind of crappy. You have to make sure to put the cap on tight or it will dry out.

The cooling/calming part of this product is interesting! It really is cool on the skin, I guess because of the gel aspect. It feels a little to oily after application, and provided no coverage for me- so many better foundations out there, I'll pass on this.

I tried this at an Aveda salon in Colorado on one of my trips this summer. It was very hot for Colorado, and the smoke from the fires kept me feeling yucky the entire week I was there. This foundation actually felt cool on my skin! The gel-like consistency was perfect for my skin, which neither requires nor desires anything but a light, sheer coverage. This is my next foundation after my CK Sheer is empty. UPDATE: I now require more coverage and more moisture in a foundation. Would still HIGHLY recommend this to those in warm climates or those whose summers are very hot.

Love the way this went on. So very
nice & cool to the skin. Then It kinda melded with my skin, and
became sort of semi-matt.Which is
pretty good for my combo skin.On me
this foundation made me totally aware of my facial lines.
I certainly don't want those
to jump out at me when I look in the mirror. If It had not been for
this I would probably buy it sometime. I think it best suits someone with younger skin.Guess I will have to pass. continued >>

It's a foundation stick, but since it's by Aveda it's definitely not ordinary. The stick-- which you have to keep sealed so it doesn't dry out -- goes on cool and gel-like. You have to blend fairly quickly before it sets, but if you just do one section of your face at a time it doesn't take too long. I have the Sheer Oyster shade, which is the 2nd lightest. It's a little too yellow, but it does help counteract redness, which I like. Coverage is light to medium without being masky. I like it!
