I think this is a great lipstick, its very wearable because of the sheer formula. The color is pretty neutral, I can wear it with both warm and cool blushes and it works well.
Its a great color for fall and throughout the winter months, as it can be built up to a deep tone, or applied very lightly for a stained effect.
I have been really impressed with the Stila lipsticks I have tried so far and this one is no exception.

This was one of my first lipsticks, and I thought it was a beautiful red berry. This lipstick never dried my lips out and instead always made them feel good. When I was younger, I had very natural, pretty red lips which now are quite pale. This color made my lips look like they did when I was younger.

Got this as a free gift with purchase. Cheap looking packaging. Hard to apply. Color is not intense at all. I'm throwing it out soon.

I have bought this lipstick several times over the past few years. It's a very light moisturising lipstick that requires several layers of application to be seen (I'm a NC45 with dark lips). It brings out the pink undertones of my cheeks even though i have more reddy/orangy undertones naturally. Works lovely with Nars Crazed blush. I think Stila lipsticks in general are great.

Jo looks dark in the tube, but because it's one of Stila's sheers it's not overwhelming on. It's a plummy red with just the right amount of pigment to make this a very wearable and very sophisticated lippy for day. The formula feels nice and moisturising and for a sheer the staying power is good.

Sheer berry red with a touch of brown, without shimmer. Excellent for NC-15 complexions. I find myself reaching for this one often. The metal case is fab, too!

this sheer plummy red is a definite mlbb for me now that my brown hair's turned blonde and i'm having to rethink pink. highly recommended for NC 2.5-3

Love the new aluminum packaging. I love the color-plummy red on me, so pretty! It's nice and sheer, no shimmer, just true shiny color. Will buy again.

Beautiful brown-red that is just perfect for my warm PPP skin. Its the one of the rare reds that i can wear without it being bright or dark. Its perfect and although it doesnt last long cause its more of a cream/sheer. Its still a wonderful color to have, especially if you're a warm toned gal.

This is my favorite lipstick right now. On me it doesn't come out a dark red but more of a berry red. I find it perfect for everyday wear. I will repurchase this lipstick again.

I just got this as part of the Petite Coffret. I really like it. It's a sheer, true red, leaning towards being a brick red. I have a hard time wearing reds, although I like them a lot, just because they wind up being too orange, too pink, or just too over-the-top red. This one is pretty much what I've been looking for. I would prefer it be a bit more pigmented and less sheer, but I can layer it to remedy that. Overall, a great lipstick!

in agreement with prior reviews, this is a sheer brown-red that goes well over a slick of lip balm. otherwise it's too dry. i have medium asian skin with high pigment lips, and found the color a bit more brown than i'd like. however if i use less product, it appears more red, which is fine. i don't carry this in my bag, so the packaging doesn't bug me, but i probably won't buy this again.

I have to admit one of the reasons I bought this is because Jo is my name, how ridiculous is that? Anyway, it's a nice ,sheer , soft red with brown tones. I imagine it would suit most skin tones as it isn't to warm , and unlike Ava ( much deeper red w/ brown tones) it doesn't have that awful ,Stila rancid lipstick taste. I'm giving it a '3' because it is my name, and it's a nice colour but nothing special really, I won't repurchase as I've too many lipsticks, which inevitably I will end up giving to friends as I get bored ,and always want to 'refine' my collection every few months. Forgot to add that it is somewhat drying so balm must be worn underneath and applied with a brush. It gives my GGG MAC NC 35-42 a kind of 'Pre-Raphaelite' softly matte look.

I normally don't wear lipstick cos' they are often too opaque and old. But Jo is the most lovely sheer red on me. I feel like a lady! Makes my teeth whiter too. It applies very smoothly but gets a bit dry later.
Good staying power and the packaging doesn't bother me. The Cardboard cover is pretty unique. And it hasn't turned bad on me yet thankfully. Will update if it does.

I have very pigmented lips so this works as a YLBB shade. A gorgeous rich red which isn't too overpowering. No nasty smells or tastes either. I got it in palette form but may well buy this full sized. D.xx

I bought this a couple of months ago and never reviewed it. Actually I bought it after reading the MUA raves... and was dissapointed. Sure the color is quite nice--soft redish on my pale lips--BUt its much too drying and the cardboard packaging was too annoying for the price you put in it :-(

I got this from Sephora after reading some many raving reviews, and honestly I was quite disappointed. The cardboard packaging was a big turn off. The lipstick doesn't apply smoothly (like rubbing a block of wax on my lips) and the color looks horrible for my LLL yellow skin tone. Needless to say, this is going back to Sephora.

A beautiful, wearable red...very natural, wearable during daytime (and to classes!) but brightens up my face and makes me teeth look whiter. Soft and pretty.

Again, another great find on advice from you fellow MUA'ers! What a beautiful shade of sheer reddish-brown. Brightens up my face, makes my hazel/brown eyes "pop". Even though I'm not too keen on the cardboard packaging (even drugstores put their cheaper lipsticks in stronger tubes), I will be repurchasing again. Oh, as a additional thought, this tended to be a tad drying on me by the afternoon (I noticed some flaking) so I put on some aura science pucker balm and reapplied Jo - no problem after that!

A lovely, neutral sheer reddish/brown. I think this is one of those shades, that's wearable on most.
