I concur with the reviewer below that this product doesn't live up to the puffery (pardon the pun) on the company's little pamphlet but I've never used a more effective eye care product.
I am old and my skin, especially around my eyes and mouth, shows that I spent way too much time getting tan and much to little time taking care of my skin when I was younger. My eyes have fine lines, deep wrinkles, hooding, puffing, dark circles, sagging...I'm sure you get the ugly picture. At one point, I decided to try using only my regular facial products on my eyes instead of using something made specifically for them. The results were disastrous. My eyes appeared to have aged 15 years within a month. At that point, I decided to call the Santa Maria Novella store in Los Angeles and order their Eye Care Fluid.
It does absorb almost immediately and leave no trace on top of the skin - if you only use a drop as they direct. I don't use just a drop though ~ I use about about a dime-sized dollop on each eye. I began using this much initially because the pump was hard for my arthritic hands to manage getting out smaller portions. But I found my skin absorbed almost all of it, and there was just enough left on the surface to help my makeup glide on more smoothly.
The results weren't apparent immediately. But, after about two or three weeks I saw a HUGE difference. The fine lines were about 75% gone and the deep wrinkles were at least 50% less deep and long. There was no difference in the color of the circles but the hooding was much better and the sagging under my eyes had some improvement too.
Now I want to try the SMN eye oil too to see if using that at night, and the fluid during the day, is even more effective. If it works as well as the fluid, I'll be a very happy camper.
I think everybody's skin is different, and some skin responds better to some ingredients than others. I have used a fair share of eye care products, including but not limited to: ReVive (everything they make), DDF Bio-molecular Firming Eye Serum, Origins, La Mer, Darphin, Cle de Peau, Sjal, La Prairie, all kinds of stuff from HSN, Isomers, etc., but for me, this has been the most effective...so far.

I as so excited to try this. I am an eye cream junkie and being 42 now, the skin around my eyes is drying out and I am getting fine lines that never used to be there. This is an herbal gel that comes in a pump dispenser bottle. You get a very nice amount in that bottle, 50 ml or 1.65 ounces. Most eye creams/gels come in 15 ml tubes or pots so that size of this was impressive. The blurb on this is as follows "This incredible eye gel, made from ginseng, echinacea, grape seed, pineapple and orange flower extracts reduces puffiness, dark circles and harsh lines, and maintains tone and elasticity around the sensitive wrinkle-prone eye area within days of first use. Like a mini eyelift, eyes will appear more luminous and youthful. This gel has a limited controlled production at the original Florence site and is skillfully prepared by hand. All herbs and flowers are cultivated naturally without the use of pesticides. Suitable for all skin types and all ages, its anti-wrinkle and swelling reduction properties do not irritate or cause tears. Apply one drop to the fingertip and dap lightly around the entire eye area (including lids) . Apply morning or evening (at least 2 hours before going to sleep). " If this did what it claimed to do I would have gladly forked over my $82. Yes, that's what it costs now since the review below. It just did absolutely nothing for my skin. It felt nice for about two minutes till it absorbed and then.....nothing. There was no moisture retention, it was as if I had put nothing on my eyes at all. I could just as well have used the olay age defying gel that also gets decent reviews here which to me is very similar, actually better IMO and MUCH cheaper. I love Santa Maria Novella products. The romance of it all, the history, but no amount of history is going to make me pay $82 for a product that does nothing. For a great product I love Weleda's rose eye cream in the tube and it was about $15 and it is one of the best eye treatments I have ever tried. There are many more that I prefer and this unfortunately is not one of them. Cannot reccommend.

I'm absolutely RAVING about this wonderful eye care treatment - the BEST of all those I've tried - it works with my sensitive skin, tautens the skin of the eye area, smoothing out crinkles in a natural fashion, ridding puffiness. This is a gel; it's an alcohol-free blend of herb and fruit extracts. To my nose, it has a beautiful, very faint scent of daffodils. You get a pretty generous amount for $65 and it goes a long way because of its practical measuring-pump dispenser. Best of all, it works the first time you use it! You can feel it going for hours! Oh! I just can't stop raving about it; can't believe I waited this long to try it.
