I am a self-proclaimed vanilla/bakery smelling snob, and since Ulta recently discontinued one of my more favorite lotions (buttercream cupcake from their shower smoothie line) I decided to expand my horizon and try other lotions. I decided to order 5, 1 oz samples of the Whipped Creme in Waffle Cone, Triple Cream Custard, Maple Syrup, Creamy Frosting, and Baked Vanilla Creme- sounds amazing right?- not even close. First off, paying 5 dollars for a 1 oz sample would be acceptable if the smells didn't have a sour-like essence- every single one of them. None of them smelled like what their titles proclaimed them to mimic- in fact, they alled smell the exact same. However, Baked Vanilla Creme was BY FAR the worse- my nephew drinks Enfamil and that smelled like his spit up- I was so disgusted I couldn't even put it on my body to see if it smelled different on my skin. In order to give them a second chance, I tried the different smells on different parts of my body to see if they would smell differently on my skin... within ten minutes I was in the shower. I do NOT recommend these lotions to anyone, I am INSANELY disappointed with the Body Bakery and will not be purchasing from them again, ever.

The scents I got were Snickerdoodle, Lemon Chiffon, Sugared Sand, Wedding Cake, and Sugar Milk. They are all amazing.!(: Not one of the scents smelled bad. My only concern is that I paid $7.00 for shipping, but it took 2 weeks to arrive, which was very annoying. Other than that, I loved everything I got.(:

I received this in a swap and OMG does this stuff REEK!! I received the fresh baked bread scent, and I literally had to run to the bathroom to scrub it off of my hands, otherwise I'd probably vomit (and I'm not joking when I say that...). Plus the one spot I put it on is starting to get a little sore and itchy. Absolutely horrendous product...glad I didn't pay for it!

DISAPOINTING.

I just wrote a review on the lemon pound cake scent for whipped cream. Which I gave a 1 as well....this review is for the baked vanilla creme as well as the overall experience with those butters.

The body bakery was such a stupid hype for me, I figured the scents would smell heavenly as the descriptions seemed like they would. Nope. Baked vanilla creme smells soo...crayony. Like a melted wax crayon. That was from smelling the jar, when applied to my skin, it still has that crayon smell but a little better but still....gross.

I am glad that I only ordered a few things, but really the samples are WAY OVERPRICED. Why not use smaller jars and charge a dollar or 2 for samples. $5.00 for an ounce seems worthless to me, as I already used half the jar thinking the smells would change. I am rating these based on the scent, by the way, not anything else. I think the overall moisturing part of it is okay but I think their business is geared toward all the "yummy" scents they supposedly have.

Even though I purchased two bad scents, I am still curious to see what the others smell like. I did purchase the deoderant in sugar cookies, which has a weird overwhelming cheesy smell, like oh I dunno, thats weird to say, but if you smell it from the deoderant stick, it smells faintly cheesy, but when applied smells really sugary. I dunno. I think if I were to purchase something from them again, it would be if they had a huge sale, or if they dropped their price in samples. And I have to mention that The coconut hut is a pretty big competitor but has really better smelling things that are strong and long lasting and smells like the real deal. Plus, I think their sample packages are cheaper too.

Oh I really wish I could have come across a review for ALL TBB products before placing 3 seperate large orders with them. It would have saved me an awful lot of money! But I wanted to be fair and give as many of their products a try as I have a seriously sweet tooth and the descriptions on their website unfortunately won over my common sense... and my wallet!
So other than the Whipped Creams (Twinkie Cake, Brownie Delight, Chocolate Chip Cookie, Chocolate a la Orange), I tried the Pure Extract Perfumes (Dutch Chocolate, Sparkling Fruit Punch, Orange Chiffon Cake, Birthday Cake, Banana Nut Bread, Banana Cream Pie, Twinkie Cake, Creamy Frosting, Almond Cookie, Wedding Cake and Baked Vanilla Creme), Sweet Perfume Rolls (Cookie Dough, Choc a la Orange, Orange Chiffon Cake & Twinkie Cake), Soap Cakes (Twinkie Cake, Cake Mix Batter) and Cookie Sheets (Twinkie Cake). Phew!
Okay, so the outcome? Only the Choc a la orange whipped cream, Cake Mix Batter Soap and the Sparkling Fruit Punch, Baked Vanilla Creme (only just!!) & Orange Chiffon Cake Perfumes stayed, everything else was binned. Before anyone says 'silly you' I really wanted to have given as many products as I could a try before coming to a fair conclusion. It wouldn't be fair to try a couple, have a bad experience and say 'well those other reviewers were right, they are no good'.
So what went wrong? ...Where do I begin? All the Chocolate-type (not Choc-orange though!) & Cookie-type perfume sprays and Whipped Creams had a strong undertone of old, mouldy socks, yes you heard right! In the jar you could detect a little but once applied I was running to wash off. It was disgusting!! Everything else did what other reviewers before me have moaned about and that is morphed into a smell that seriously resembles burnt chemical-plastic/dirt within minutes! I too read those reviews and though 'whatever', but now I understand exactly what they meant. The Almond Cookie perfume spray was the worst culprit for this!
The Sweet Rolls all smelt sickly, other than the Cookie Dough which smelt totally devoid of any sweetness at all. The Cookie Sheets in Twinkie Cake smelt nothing like the Whipped Cream version and no matter how much I sprayed on my bed sheets, it would dissapear within 10 minutes max! The soap in Cake Mix Batter smelt yummy but didn't linger on hands at all. Nice to catch whiffs of though whilst still wet in the soap dish and releasing fragrance!
Texture of the Whipped Creams was great, they don't bunch-up or sit on your skin like an oil slick, packaging was fine, the Pure Extract perfumes were in sample sizes which would unscrew by themselves very easily and spill out everywhere! I don't know if the full size versions have this problem too.
So on to the good: the Choc a la orange whipped cream to me smelt exactly like Jaffa Cakes, others told me the smell reminded them of Terry's Chocolate Orange bar. The Baked Vanilla Creme perfume was very 'eggy' but in a sort-of good way, it was like Bread and butter pudding but with waaaay to much sugar thrown in! Not one for the faint-hearted and a bit too sickly and strong to be honest! I only use this one when nobody else is around!
Funnily enough I only ordered the Fruit Punch and Orange Chiffon Cake perfumes due to good reviews on Youtube and they were quite spot-on! Sillage fairly decent, true-to-life fragrances. I could detect cardamom in the Orange C C which gave it a bit of 'spice', may not be to everyone's likings though!
Yes I did recieve free samples with my order, no my complaints were not taken seriously although eventually some products were replaced. I was told the mouldy socks smell in some of the products was down to personal preference and that they are best-selling products! How nice!
So would I recommend? Unless you are very rich then unfortunately no, you could be sifting through mountains of products to find the few ones that won't transform once on your skin into something gross. I can't speak for everything as my budget couldn't cater to their lip butters, liquid soaps etc too but common sense would say they probably have the same issues in common with what I tried.
Would I buy again? No. But this guy's search for HG dessert-type fragrances continues... continued >>

When I purchased from The Body Bakery, oh boy was I on a body butter kick. I ordered so much from etsy, and ordered four items from The Body Bakery alone. I had seen and heard such great things that I thought I couldn't possibly be let down. Well. I was completely.

Kay, guys, have I got a story for you.

When I first experienced all the scents in my Body Bakery order, I was left with an "eh" feeling. It didn't wow me, and the Whipped Cream scent I'd gone out on a limb for was "Fresh Baked Bread." Well, let me tell you it does not smell like fresh baked bread AT ALL. Ugh, it's like . . . at first it smells like dry bread, really crunchy stuff and kinda stale, albeit bread at all. But then the bread smell, as I keep searching in the scent, becomes some generic kind of sweet and chemical-y smell underneath. It's very odd and isn't at all pleasant. I actually just put it behind all of my other body butters so that I can pretend I never bought it. I really don't want to use it . . . but it was so expensive! (T-T)

As for the texture and moisturizing qualities of the lotion, I've heard many people report as the lotion being runny, but mine was first very thick, which I assumed would be very moisturizing. Only after a few pot openings did the product begin to loosen. Back on track, It's really not all that moisturizing. When I go to put it on, it's so difficult to lotion up a large enough area before having to use some more product. Because it doesn't spread more easily, I realized I'd rather fallen for a money sand-trap where I use up the ounce and think I better go buy more. And as some others have reviewed, the lotion does feel a bit greasy, and in my experience too thick where it doesn't actually permeate the skin and just sits on the surface. It balls up as dried lotion if I keep rubbing my hand over it to try to get it to be absorbed by the skin.

Now for the story. I first tried to put this review up on The Body Bakery's site. But they actually refused allowing it out onto the public board for other customers to read. I at first thought I had done something technically incorrect by pushing the wrong button, so a day later I posted a similar review up, hoping it would go through. That also was screened. Only after two failed attempts to publish a review AND an inquiry to The Body Bakery owner herself was I given an explanation as to why my reviews were ignored. She personally sent back a very rude and defensive e-mail, which is unnecessary. If you can't take the bad reviews, don't make reviews an option for me at all! She said I should have e-mailed her first about my distaste in the products and she would have sent me a replacement product. First of all, she was pissy and offended because I didn't like her product and said so. Secondly, there was nothing in her policy that explained I would have been treated to another scent. Thirdly, she waited until after I e-mailed her to express that she thought my review was inappropriate. But my review was not any more harsh than what a 1 or 2 rated product is worth.

Overall, the scents smell quite fake except for the coffee scent I bought, which is just as overpowering a smell as the other scents are disappointing. From how unorthodox I was treated, and from how insignificant an impression the products left, I will absolutely not be buying from The Body Bakery again.

I really wanted to like this product-- especially after reading all of the positive reviews on here-- but it just didn't live up to the hype. I bought 2 of the 1-oz. Whipped Creams (in Sparkling Fruit Punch and Red Velvet Cake) and, overall, was very disappointed. What a let down! Here are some of my impressions:
PRICE: I felt the price was high for the amount of product included, but I understand overhead costs can be high for small companies like this.
CONSISTENCY: I found the formula a bit greasy as I applied it, but it eventually blended into the skin (within about 10 minutes).
SCENTS: When I smelled each cream in its jar, I was pleased (the Red Velvet Cake smelled especially nice) but as soon as I applied the cream to my clean skin, the scent changed drastically! Believe it or not, both creams smelled like DIRT once they'd been applied! The unpleasant smell lingered until there was no scent remaining at all...!
Overall, this product just did not live up to my expectations-- not by a long shot. I was eager to support this small company, but there's no way I would spend my money on this again.

This stuff is incredible!! The texture is sooo thick and creamy and moisturizing and it smells fantastic! I got this in Apricot Vanilla Swirl and Sparkling Fruit Punch and both scents are spot-on and extremely long lasting. I shower and put these on before I go to bed at night and can still smell them when I wake up and they last throughout the day without being overpowering, i.e. I can only smell them when I put my arm to my nose and whiff =) I just placed an order for Watermelon Slice and can't wait to receive! Thank you Pinkiecharm/MissIrene for turning me on to this company!

Ok, for those looking to purchase, understand that these scents are sugary and expected to be fun, not sophisticated. Also, in my fragrance experience, anything scented like chocolate, banana, bubblegum, etc. are never good. Vanilla and coconut can be perfumey or sweet. This is with every brand as there are scents at BBW that I can't stomach either.
That being said. I was ok with the scents I have smelled from the body bakery I purchased Blueberry Muffin, Fruit Tart, Cherry Almond Bark (my fav), and Champagne Cocktail. My only problem is that they are SO small for $5 each. I definitely will take more advantage of seasonal gift sets where you usually can get 1 free (based on the pricing). Also, I agree with previous reviewers that the packaging sucks, but something tells me the price would be even higher if it was changed.
Even though I wasn't WOWed by the product like so many other people are. I will continue to order because I'd like to see their take on the other scents.

I bought this whipped creme in Pink sugar, and I must say at first it seemed strong, but after a few minutes it morphed into a soft skinlike scent.. cotton candylike/ambery/sugaryI. also got it in lemon chiffon, which is a soft tart lemony scent, and I got it in lemon pound cake which is a more cake like scent, richer if you will..those were both really nice. last but not least I got it in sugar cookie which was awesome..The texture is rich, cremey and very hydrating..Not runny, very nice..The samples are $$$$ 5 for a 1 oz size....Lisa did send samples with my order ( 3 of them ) which saved me money..The packaging is so nice and well done! And, the service was extremely fast!!!!!! All in all worth a try.

This is for the Pumpkin Pie scent. I hate the cheap looking container but I love the stuff. It has a thick whipped cream consistency and smells more like pumpkin than it's frangrance spritz which is more of a cinnamon scent going on. Would definitely repurchase this comforting lotion:)

I don't know to put this under whipped creams or body creams? but anyway I REALLY wanted to like these! This seems like something I would really like, because I love bakery scents but...I've tried this in a bunch of different scents, and haven't really been pleased with any. I first tried a sample in Birthday Cake, which sounded really good, but smelled totally off. It was very fake, but I got it in a swap, so I figured maybe it had gone bad. I tried a lip balm from TBB, and I liked it so I placed an order and ordered a couple small body cremes with it. I got Chocolate Covered Cherry, Creme de la creme, and the Pink Sugar scent...I'm glad I got them in the small size! They all smelled sooo fake. I had to actually throw out the Chocolate covered cherry it smelled so bad. The lotion it's self was really runny too. I was so disapointed, because I really wanted to like these :(

This cream is bad and terribly overpriced. The scents are fake, and the name is totally misleading. I received it via swapping, and I'm so glad I didn't pay the ridiculous price. It is like pure WATER! I'm glad I asked around and swapped for this before I wasted my time and money ordering it. I'm not sure how this e-tailer's other items are, but I will definitely avoid the "whipped cream" in the future.

I read so many great reviews that I went directly to the site and ordered a ton of stuff for Christmas gifts this year. It was really $$$, but there were so many scents to choose from and the reviews were great, I didn't care. I don't mind paying good $$ for a great product. This was NOT a great product. I ordered various lotions in the following scents: creme brulee, sugar cookie, marshmallow fluff and coconut cream pie. The scents were mediocre and none of them smelled like what they were supposed to. The cream was a bit slimy and the scent wasn't lasting. When I went to check out their return policy I was shocked to find that they do not take returns. I will never purchase from this site again!!! Just as a frame of reference, I love the Bath and Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel and Tutti Dolci lines. These are much more expensive ($5 for a tiny jar that is about the size of a pot of lip gloss and $12 for small jar) and not nearly the same quality.

I love the Body Bakery whipped cremes. They are very reasonably priced, they are excellent moisturizers, and they smell exactly like the flavor they're named after. I don't know how they do it. I also like these as hand creams better than the Body Bakery's hand creams. I keep a small jar of whipped cream at work to use on my hands. LOVE!

I received this in a swap,and was very excited,as I have never tried Body Bakery products(too $$$).
The cream was abit runny, but went on smoothly with nice 'slip'.The scent I received was Calypso Cooler, which I found to be a clone of Origins Ginger Essence.
It's nicely moisturizing without being greasy, but 1/2 hour after I put it on, I could not smell it. At all. I love my lotions and creams to be highly scented,to use as perfume...some of my creams I kind of use as solid perfumes in fact.
All in all a big disappointment-I no longer have any desire to order from them due to the high prices, overall poor reviews, and my not so great experience.

When I first started using the Whipped Creams, I was thrilled with them because they were very "foody" in scent and I knew of no other "food" type of products. But as I used the Whipped Creams for a few months, they became thin and runny and some of the ingredients in some of the scents separated. I had one scent (Angel Food Cake) that was actually grainy and disgusting. I will not re-purchase these again. Speaking of the Angel Food Cake scent, it is more of a coconut scent than a true Angel Food Cake bakery scent. The Blueberry Muffin Whipped Cream is also more of a blueberry scent than a true Blueberry Muffin bakery scent. Also, TBB raised their prices considerably over the past year or so and I do not find that the price equals the quality.
