This is a slightly shimmery golden bright amber color. The color showed up on my pigmented lids without a base. The shadow was easy to apply and blend. Only complaint is the packaging. I droped mine and it cracked and it can be trickey to open.

This is my first milani eye shadow and i'm in love with the color and texture. It's so velvety smooth. I'll definatley try more colors.

This eyeshadow is all about pigment, with a high shine. It is lovely orangey gold and pairs perfectly with Spice (09-copper red brown). I only have to use a little bit to get a great effect and it tends to stay put well too. For comparison, I have medium skin, more olive based than pink, and chestnut brown hair. This color combination looks best when I am slightly tanned. Great for the summer! I have a hard time finding Milani eyeshadows in stock at drug stores because it seems to sell out so quickly, but I plan to get more colors. On the packaging- it comes packed in small flattened round pots, that are easy to open and cool looking. If you mistakenly drop them on the floor though, the powder breaks up and it gets very messy.

A pretty eyeshadow, but not necessarily one of my favorites. I'm quite pale and this made me look a little bit sick- something that happens to me with copper/bronze shades unless I pair it with something else and apply very lightly. The quality of Milani shadows is great for a drugstore product and this is very pigmented. I think it would like fantastic on someone whose coloring is a little darker than mine. I'm going to keep it, but I don't see myself using it all too frequently.

Hi guys! Just wanted to add my thoughts on this color I bought a couple months ago. I am experimenting it with other colors to see how they behave. This is a summery, fun color to add to my ever increasing eye shadow collection! EDIT- I really don't reach for ths too often so I lowered my rating.

Oh baby! This is an intense shimmering ORANGEY bronze. It looks brownish in the pan but applies very copper. It might not look very good on very cool or pale skintones but i have medium/tan/yellow skin and it looks amazing. Applied very lightly it can also be a nice subtle copper, but if you apply with ANY pressure at all it's going to be bright. I like that, but others might not. I don't need very much of this for a striking look but if i ever run out I will certainly by it again.

I wasn't expecting much from this cheap brand but I was pleasantly suprised. This color is a dead ringer for Urban Decay Baked. I tried them on both side by side and the color was exact. The come in a little flip top pot and cost about $3 but Walgreens has sales freqently and you get them even cheaper. Give this one a try, it is very inexpenive and a decent product.

On my PPP, somewhat cool toned skin, "desert sun" shows up as a ahimmering bronze. It IS orangey on me, so I can't wear it alone. Paired and blended with other colors, though, it's a gorgeous foil for my mostly teal eyes. I like to blend out of "peachy peach" with this to tone down the color a bit. (Oh, and straight Desert Sun looks great against a silver: a really modern, urban look.) Amazing texture and blendability, and makes other drugstore shadows look like junk. While I may not ever end up using up this shade, I will certainly be buying more Milani! Desert Sun would look lovely on a darker girl, or one with a tan. For the extremely pale, I'd really only suggest this if you have other shadows to pair it with and have green or blue eyes.

I LOVE this, it is my holy grail can't go wrong everyday color. I have Sun Goddess as well and even though people say they are almost the same, Sun Goddess did not work on my light-medium asian skin, it was too coppery orange! Desert Sun on the otherhand is just perfect!! Gold tends to wash me out but this is a deep gold with just a slight tinge of copper to warm it up into a sort of golden bronze but not dark at all. It's just bright enough to really make my almost black eyes pop and glow.

This is a great, basic, pale-gold color. I do not think it is all that similar to "Sun Goddess", since the latter has more coppery tones while this is just a warm gold. This is a great buy since it's very similar (on my eyelid, at least) to lots of other colors (Stila "Oasis" for one. Trust me, don't plunk down 15 dollars for something that is pretty much the same as "Dessert Sun" which is only 4 USD, especially if you're anything above a super-PPP, on which subtle color differences are more apparent). Lovely, silky, blendable texture. Wears well and all day. No creasing, fading, flaking, etc. Can be easily depotted and popped into a MAC Pro Palette. Definite repurchase.

This is very pretty. A shimmery golden color. Almost identical to Milani Sun Goddess and Stila Ray......I recommend using as an all-over wash or shade in the crease....great on bronzed skin.

My first Milani during my eyeshadow kick.. love this highly pigmented bronze color! Love the 2.99 price too! I wear this alone, but still playing around to find good pairing with other Milani colors. The eyeshadows are a bit hard to open, but who can complain- it's such a deal!

Lovely medium golden bronze that looks nice paired with Flare and Spice. Really brightens up my brown eyes, the texture is great and it blends well. Very similiar to Sun Goddess.

Desert Sun is a definite lookalike of Sun Goddess, but I've found it has a tad deeper bronzey tone without the overdose of orange that Sun Goddess has. This one works a lot better for me than SG. Awesome on the lid with a dark bronze in the crease or even a plum. This one is soooo smooth and heavily pigmented, plus no craesing and long-lasting. Really a winner for 3 bucks if you're looking for a goldy-bronzey color!!

Desert Sun is lovely golden bronze that is definitely metallic. I was using it as an eyeshadow, but I actually prefer it as a bronzer. I just sweep a bit over the apples of my cheeks and I have a fabulous sunkissed bronze. It has pretty good staying power, but when used on my cheeks it sunk into my pores by the end of the day.

This shade definitely does not suit my complexion on it's own, but it's sooo pretty that I have to think of ways to blend and use over the top of other colors. Virtually identical to golden bronze...

I second the comment of the reviewer below who said that this shade just didn't work for her coloring, but aside from that is a pretty bronze-orange shade that would probably work well with the right coloring. I'm blonde, blue eyes, fair/pale skin. My eyelids looked diseased. If you have my coloring, try Java Bean instead.

I also love this gold/bronze color from Milani. The shadow goes on well like most of their eyeshadows.

I absolutely LOVE this color! I reach for this color the most, because it goes with about anything. It's a nice burnt orangey color. It's got a great shimmer and the texture is nice and smooth!
