Superb toner that smells great and removes last traces of makeup without overdrying or stinging. I liked the fresh scent. It's also inexpensive, basically drug-store price range.

I bought a bottle of this toner few days ago and I wanted to use it as a toner only after cleansing my skin, but I also decided to give it a try at removing my mascara, so I removed mascara from one eye with this Yves Rocher toner and then my other eye with the make-up remover I usually use (Nivea in a blue bottle). After Nivea it was stinging as usual and after Yves Rocher it felt so great as if I didn't even touch my eyes (before I thought it was ok for eyes to sting after make-up remover, I thought that mascara was just getting in the eyes, but now I see that it's NOT ok and this Calmille toner proves it). My skin feels so gentle and so smooth after it without being tightened. Not to mention the lovely smell!

I am extremely picky about giving anything a five, and I had this sitting at a four for awhile, but seriously, I have not found anything wrong with it. Not even exaggerated claims. I picked this up after reading all the rave reviews here.
I have extremely oily, but dehydrated skin that love to break out in cysts and blackheads.
Here is how a little sypnosis of my journey with this gem:
Price: Dirt cheap! $7. I think that's one of the best prices I've ever seen without being compromised for quality.
Packaging: Has that whole cheap plastic look. But I like the silhouette, and it has not burst on me once and I've taken it everywhere for travel; I'm quite abusive too so I need durable containers that can survive airplaine pressure and suitcase cramming. I squeeze a dollop on my cotton pad and wipe the excess with the same pad so I don't waste anything. So even though the packaging isn't super convenient, I'm not too bothered by it.
5 months since purchase, I've used it anywhere from 2-3 times a day, and it's STILL not empty.
The Toner: A clear milky texture. I recall being a little taken aback by the scent at first, but now I hardly notice it. In fact, I had to take the bottle in my hand right now and smell it because I couldn't even recall if it did have a scent. More or less alcohol free; it has propylene glycol but I can't smell it (I can usually smell alcohol in so-called alcohol free toners and then prove it by looking at the ingredients).
Claims: Simple, practical beauty tool. 2 in 1 cleanser and toner.
What it did: Exactly as it says. I took it camping as a cleanser substitute when I couldn't wash my face and it kept my face acne free for 3 days. It tones my face without any exaggerated promises (I have not really seen any toner do all the things it claims. This one does its basic toning. Good.) It visibly takes off any extra dirt, makeup or oils as well. My skin has a non-sticky, matte texture (almost like a cotton weave) once I'm done using it, which I like very much. It's about as unoily as my skin feels for the rest of the day.
Conclusion: It did not promise anything more than what it did (unless we debate the ingredients, I always wonder about things like 100% pure chamomile extraction). Gives me a nice (and when needed, swift) cleanse and tone and even leaves my skin feeling matte with a nice touch (which almost no toner does). Very happy. Why complain about a good thing? :)

Smell is heavenly. I'll just open the cap for a sniff if I'm in the bathroom. Label says you can use it to remove make-up, but it doesn't do a really good job with that. As a toner, I LOVE it. It balances out the pH in my skin after cleansing. Container is large, so I poured some in a small spray bottle, do about 3 spritzes into a cotton pad and wipe away.
I have combo skin and it doesn't overdry it, but picks up any leftover residue after I wash my face. Primes my skin for moisturizer.

This has a very nice smell and feel so soft on your skin, gliding smoothly. Its effects aren't THAT convincing though. My skin didn't really change after usage.

I'm so glad that I tried this toner based on all these positive reviews. I bought it for about $7 CDN, which is amazing for something that works so well! This toner very gentle and does not sting like many other toners that I've tried. I have sensitive, oily, acne prone skin and it's hard to find skin care that doesn't make me break out.
Even though the instructions suggest applying using a cotton pad, what I do is I pour the toner into a tiny spray bottle. After washing my face, I lightly spritz everywhere and pat, works wonderfully and my skin feels soft and much less oily.
So, I can't find anything to complain about, except maybe for the design of the bottle. It's hard to pour the contents into the spray bottle without wasting some, oops~ But at that price, it's okay. :)

Amazing! I have tried many different types of toners/astringents (Alcohol based and Non-Alcohol based). I have never liked anything as much as this. It's so gentle but effectively removes dirt and excess makeup. It's not drying, it doesn't sting and it doesn't break me out. I've been using this stuff a good solid 2 years now and I won't be stopping anytime soon!

I love this toner....it is my HG!!!! I use it after I wash my face & it just leaves my skin feeling even fresher & glowing :) The smell is wonderful & it doesn't sting/dry my face at all. It also really helps my moisturizer sink into my skin nicely. I am definitely purchasing again! continued >>

Amazing!! This is the best toner ever! My skin is combination/sensitive prone to zits. I have used Clinique toner, Clean &Clear toner and they have all dried out my skin (probably from the alcohol). I use this after cleansing my face to take the grime off. My skin looks and feels so soft, and glowing. The smell of this is really nice as well. It smells so fresh! There is no stinging or tingling like with other tones. Sometimes if I am really lazy I will splash my face with water and use this to take the make up off. Usually if I did that without cleaning my face with a cleanser I would break out. Not with this stuff! It has actually kept the pesky zits at bay. If you like the toner, pick up the cleansing cloths too! My skin loves this stuff. This is a top quality toner in my opinion. continued >>

My favorite toner -- when I use a toner, that is. Fresh, green, non-drying, non-alcohol-smelling. Great to dab onto a cotton ball and run over my face to remove the very last of the day's makeup. Terrific product.

it's a bone-simple, nice and gentle, non-irritant, non-dryness-causing toner, and it's excellent value for the price - in short, this is everything I want my toner to be. I'll keep on buying as long as YR keeps on making this!

Keep preaching to the choir sister! I actually love the way the bottles look - i use the whole bio-calmille line and have this childish happiness burbling inside me when the cleanser and the toner is nestled into eachother. Ok, someone give me a hug!

I use toner every day - and i find that this one is not only refershing, it doesnt sting, contains no alcohol (ie: no drying out), and also makes my skin look cleaner. I dont believe this nonesense about toners making your pores smaller - i do, however, know that toners act as the "second round" of face cleaning, for all of us who might miss a little shmutz on our faces the first time around.

Oh, and i love the smell. I also love that there always seems to be a 2 for 1, or a 50% off coupon from YR floating around your mail box, right when you need it.

Out of curiousity - i find that european women love and adore YR (in France is the equivalent to Lancome and Clinique, if not higher), but in North America, YR is treated like it's one step above walmart. WHy is that? (oh, and it also kills me when people use the words avon and YR in the same sentence).

I think this product is pretty good. It doesn't irritate, my skin, nor make it break out. i actually have less acne now since i started using this product. and great price.
i knoticed people keep criticizing Yves Rocher's light weight "cheap" bottles. The reason the bottles are so light and "cheap" is because lighter bottles means less fuel used for transporting them. Less fuel means less global warming inducing chemicals like CO2 being realeased in the air which means people should be happy that YR is taking the initiative.to do something good for the environment and stop bi*ching about environmentally friendly bottles.
oh and, the reason i gave this product a 4 and not a 5 is because i don't use toners all that often. if i used it everday, it would be a defenite 5.

I've been using this for a while now, along with the cleanser and mask. Gentle, works well. YR really needs to improve packaging. If I didn't love the products this much, I'd stop buying it just because of the cheap packaging.

I used the Bio-Calmille cleanser & toner for years, only to find that YR discontinued the line - or so it seemed. They re-introduced it last year and I am happy again! It's so fresh and soothing and you can't beat the price when they're having sales. continued >>

This is a wonderful, softening toner. Skin feels great after using both the matching cleanser followed by the toner. This has kept my skin soft even in winter. I like also using the day/night cream if my skin is especially dry. Only negative is the inconvenient packaging for a toner.
