I am in a shade 3g and I must say I love this foundation. It's light weight and a perfect sheer in texture. It's good for people who want to look natural, without making it noticeable that you are wearing makeup. I am a Physical Therapist and I have to work 8 hours a day! Sometimes my work schedule is so hectic running here and there, and this foundation just stays in its place without loosing the look.
I was going for my skin treatment in essential day care spa and Nicole suggested me to get this foundation. I was skeptical in the first place as I haven't seen any foundation that helps to cure imperfect skin.
But when I bought this one I can now say how well my skin has improved. It doesn't clog my pores are cause spots or acne. I have seriously oily and acne prone skin and now if you see its perfectly clear.
I love love love this foundation, it makes my face look so natural, I use a mac studio fix NC41 powder on the top of this foundation and it looks flawless.
The packaging is great, as its in a form of tube. You can release as per your needs and a little goes a long way.
I bought 2 tubes one for backup in last august 2011 and I am still on my first tube. I use it almost everyday. Some days I like to go natural just to allow my skin breath.
I would suggest this to anyone who wants to look glowy without having much makeup!

I was after a medium to full coverage foundation to take on holidays that was non comedogenic and would last all day on my sensitive skin without clogging pores or causing breakouts.
The MUA at the Dermalogica counter at David Jones assured me that the Treatment Foundation was the right choice for me. She said it was lightweight, oil free and non comedogenic but was medium coverage that was buildable and would last all day.
I already had make up on so she colour matched me and as I was in a rush before I went on holidays I bought it. It was pricey at $68 for the tube but I figured, it's good for your skin so it's worth it.
I tried it out at home and was really disappointed. The colour match was perfect (I bought 1G and am an NC20-25) but apart from that the product was not at all what I wanted.
It's as sheer as a tinted moisturiser and is definitely not buildable - it turned ashy grey when I tried to add more layers.
I don't have overly oily skin - my skin is really sensitive and if anything it's a bit on the dry side - but within about 10 minutes of applying my face was shining. And not a radiant glow, I mean shine. It also oxidises on your skin.
The tube is hygienic and would be good for travelling/purse, but that's about it. It shouldn't be marketed as a foundation, it's just false advertising.
If you want a tinted moisturiser that's good for your skin, then it's a good buy but for $68, thoroughly disappointed.

Okay, so basically i use ALL dermalogica products, i wanted to give this ago, i read a couple of reviews and everyone said it was really awesome - which it IS!
It is a very dewey foundation, probably medium coverage. great for oily skin as it doesn't slide of the face, and lasts all day (assuming you're blotting when necessary), and applies well with any technique. Definitely advise you use a powder foundation or finishing powder over it though, depending on the amount of coverage you want.
Now, im incredibly pale, and this foundation OXIDISES SO MUCH! probably about 2 - 3 shades. Which is crap considering the price ($60 or $70 australian) that it was...It was quite dark to begin with, but if it had just stayed the original colour, id have gotten away with it, but no. It oxidised and turned me into a black jellybean. (im talking about the lightest shade 1g)
now, this foundation claims to be "treatment" for your skin, my opinion - not true. a "treatment" foundation would make your skin better, or clear acne, or reduce redness after its been taken off at the end of the day. This foundation is just like any other foundation of similar type. There is definately nothing "special" about what it does for your skin.
This product is recommended for all skin types on the website - agreed. Anyone could buy this and it would look good. dry skin/normal skin/oily skin etc. However for people with oily skin, there are better foundations for oil control. This one is up there, but its definately not #1.
Also, if you're insanely pale like me - big no no. Not unless you want a brown face and a white body.
in conclusion, because of the oxidizing issue, i would not re-purchase. otherwise i definately would!

This is my favourite foundation but its not perfect and I think it would work best for people with dry skin. The covarage is quite light and sheer, more like a tinted moisturiser than a foundation. I have dry skin that is quite blotchy, this evens it out but still looks very natural and radiant. Outdoors in daylight it is barely noticeable which is really important to me, I cant stand cakey looking foundations.
I use a little bit of powder to set it on my nose and chin. Its very 'glowy' and I think on someone with oily skin it could look greasy and if used on someone with acne or blemishes the covarage might not be satisfying.
I wear the shade 2g and when I first apply it oxidises very heavily (it literally goes green) but after 5-10 minutes it blends perfectly with my skin tone. I think the formula has changed because when I first started using this foundation it didnt do that. It also isnt terribly long lasting (which is why I have scored 4) if I apply in the morning I will usually do a touch up in the afternoon. I also dont think it 'treats' the skin but when I have used other foundations I get little spots around my mouth. I dont with this but I cant say it improves my skin, it just doesnt make it worse.
I realise this review sounds a little bit negative but I just want to make it clear this is not for everyone. If you have dry skin and want to make it look more even toned while still looking natural you will probably love it like I do.

This is my HG foundation. I use shade 1g and am fairly pale and tan somewhat in the summer. I have used this foundation continuously throughout the year and it always looks perfect.
- It IS expensive, but when it lasts so long I really don't think it's overpriced. I bought a tester tube which is 22ml and it lasted me an entire year! Ok, ok, I probably shouldn't have kept it that long but it was still perfect.
- I literally use a broad-bean sized amount for my entire face and applied with fingers (again, a terrible thing I'm sure!). I found that it was very light so doesn't feel caked on and it covered redness really well - I blush SO easily and it gave me more confidence that it was hiding this a bit.
- When I ran out, my skin really wasn't as good, it went kinda bumpy and weird, so I do believe that it does something good to your skin.
- Overall I would recommend this to anyone as it's light, covers well and makes your skin beautiful!

Finally! I foundation I LOVE. The shade seems to blend smoothly into my skin, creating the perfect match, it wears wonderfully, I love the tube because I can apply just the perfect amount, coverage is medium but can be built up to full. I just love this foundation and it's actually good for my skin! When I purchased it, I thought the color was much to dark. Perhaps I should have done better testing at the store? Nope. It's magic foundation. A beautiful satin texture, satin finish, covers beautifully without creating makeup face. And a little goes a long way. I apply it to my face straight from the tube, (hey, no one else will be using it. I can contaminate my own products) using about at 2 inch, thin line on my forehead, cheeks, chin and a tiny bit to the tip on my nose. I either use my Sephora Platinum 55 brush or my Cover FX foundation brush to blend and the results are finally the works of the perfect foundation creation. I cannot recommend this foundation enough. Especially those with troubling skin. My face feels amazing when I wear this, like there's a treatment on my face. It does rub off slightly, but what foundation doesn't? The only downfall is the steep price. But you definitely get a lot of product and you only use a tiny bit. I haven't even made a dent in the tube. I like this product more than my NARS Sheer Glow, which I also love to pieces =)
I will buy this again!

I love this foundation! I admit it could be better, but it has really helped my oily/acne prone skin.
Before using the treatment foundation I had been using Revlon Colorstay although I did love the coverage the foundation was giving me I did not like what it was doing to my skin. I would religiously wash my face every morning and night and I would still have little bumps all over my skin. I figured out the cause of these small bumps was my foundation as it was too heavy for my skin. I went on the hunt for a good natural foundation that would not clog my pores and then I found dermalogica although the price is steep you get a good amount of foundation and it lasts quite awhile I'd rather have good skin than broken out skin, and after a couple weeks of using this foundation I can already see my acne, and my uneven skin tone improving. The foundation goes on really smooth and blends in like a dream I like that the brand has formulations for warm toned skin so I got the 3g (g for golden) it blends into my skin well, but can look a tad bit dark so I just correct that with a lighter powder. There are some days where the foundation looks quite matte and others where it takes on a glowy satiny finish...so I guess it just depends on your skin tone. All in all I really recommend this foundation for any type skin!

I started using dermalogica foundation when i bought the starter skin kit for normal oily skin as i wanted to upgrade my skin care products. At that time my skin was a the point of breaking out due to drugstore skin care products and makeups. With using cheap products my skin became sensitised to the ingredients.
I am GLAD that I considered spending more money than I usually did, as dermalogica solved all my problems. My skin cleared up and didn't react to the ingredients.
The foundation gave my skin a flawless look without having to look too made up. After all the purpose of a foundation to to even out the imperfection and the skin tone, not to cover whole face up and lose the radiance of your skin. And thats why people get so disappointed with this product as they expect too much.
So this foundation is great for the skin, stayed on all day when I work 10 hour days. The best part of this foundation, when i take it off, it doesn't make my skin feel irritated as other "full coverage" foundation did.

I,ve got a difficult skintype so I decided to give Dermalogica a try. However, this foundation was a bit of a disappointment to me. It didn't give me any coverage at all, made my skin feel oily and the color was not that great either. I think that this foundation is more suitable for people who have a clear, good skin and only need a tinted moisturizer instead of a good foundation. My search for the perfect, natural looking foundation that suits my skintype and color will continue.

I actually quite like this product.
Pros:
-Comes in a yellow shade that a lot of other products don't come in
-Doesn't clog my pores
-Looks really really natural. I put it on my nose and chin to cover redness and it just looks like my skin is really healthy and glowy
-Doesn't cake
-Doesn't stick to the flaky skin that I have on my nose like ALL other foundations do

Cons:
-Won't cover anything dramatic (pimple, cut etc.) because it is too sheer. Half way between a tinted moisturiser and a foundation... leaning moisturiser.
-Doesn't stay on all day.
-Pretty expensive
-looks better when you put it on and kinda becomes less glowy and perfect as time goes by. It goes browner after a while on.

I love this foundation, but I use it with the Dermalogica Sheer Moisturiser. The combination of the two products make my skin glow and I'm in my mid 30s! Its a light to medium coverage so those who want something heavier need to stay clear of it. My skin isn't very even toned and I get spots, but this foundation still does a good job of masking imperfections. I have pale freckled skin so I use number 1, or 1G for an extra bit of golden colour. I can highly recommend.

I felt I had to write this as I have had such a different experience than most of the other reviewers

I actually really like this foundation. I was using Almay Clear Complexion prior to buying this (which has been discontinued in the UK for some reason so had to order on ebay.com :-S) and although it had done a great job of clearing up the worst of my blemishes, it looked a bit heavy and 'mask like' unless I used a very small amount, which didn't give always give me the coverage that I wanted. I also felt that as I am getting older (25) and have a couple of fine lines and dehydration, I didn't want to use something that might be drying out my skin further.

When I read about this Dermalogica foundation I was quite hopeful as it claims to reduce dehydration without exacerbating blemishes. Perfect for me as I am dehydrated with congestion and prone to blemishes.

I am quite an impatient person so bought it from a local beauty salon at full price even though their tester display was a dusty disgrace and the 1 and 2 testers were missing. I tried the 3 and it was too dark but blended in it was acceptable, kind of like a tinted moisturiser: it added some warmth. So I bought the number 2 without testing it thinking; how bad can it be?

I am now using shade 2 and it is OK. It is still a little bit too dark but it looks fine as long as it is blended well. After using it for a couple of weeks I like the foundation enough that I have just ordered shade 1 from an offshore company selling it for £17.50 with free postage. I figure if it is too pink or pale I can just mix it with the one I have.

I would describe the coverage as medium but the great thing is that it can be layered for greater coverage without causing a mask like effect. The first time I wore it to work my colleague was really impressed by it and said it didn't look as though I was wearing any makeup at all. It seems to offer the pigments but without the creamy, plasticky base of most foundations. As a result it doesn't cover my pores as indiscriminately as other, heavier foundations seem to, yet unlike other reviewers here I feel that the effect lasts very well and it doesn't pool into my pores as the day wears on. In fact I find that when I wear this, I don't look so different at the end of the day from when I have just done my makeup. I might blot or powder my nose once as the day goes on but that has more to with the extra concealer that I sometimes use in that area I feel.

I don't agree that you can get concealer like coverage with this, I do use a separate concealer but as every MUA knows you can get a much more natural result when you only use full coverage where it is needed. When I take the time to add concealer where I need it and blend, the overall effect is definitely way preferable to using a heavier foundation all over. In fact it looks really great, similar to when I used to use Mac Face and Body, smooth but not as dewy, a little more matt. Perhaps I will still use the Almay product on lazy days or if I get any greasy, inflamed spots again.

Another thing I like is the packaging. No glass (so light for my bag) and the nozzle is really hygenic and allows an exact amount that I need to be dispensed easily. Also it seems like a lot of product and with my two tubes I think I won't need to replace for ages making it good value for money, even at the full price.

Admittedly I have mostly used d/s brands prior to this foundation so don't have much to compare it to. Although I know I could go for a highly rated h/e foundation and probably get an even better cosmetic result, I more concerned with healing blemishes etc ATM and hope to recalibrate my skin down to just needing tinted moisturiser for work. If anyone knows of a better foundation for achieving this please let me know.

Overall though I am very happy with this product and I doubt I will buy anything else until the tubes run out. I have just upgraded my skincare products and look forward to using even less of this when the weather warms up as in previous years I was always wearing loads of heavy foundation. Now I am actually looking forward to the summer instead of dreading the exposure.

This stuff is simply not a foundation but a tinted moisturizer or treatment or whatever. During my last shopping spree i was given a sample of this stuff so i don't know which color i was using, but the results are the same.
It basically didn't do anything bad to my skin, it didn't melt on my face or anything but it doesn't cover anything, anything at all. it is simply a very lightly tinted creme and that's all. I also think it has too strong yellow undertones since my friend kept saying she still thinks i look too orange, lol.
I can't say whether it 'treats' stuff or not because i don't have acne or pimples and i don't really care about this aspect, but for the 'maintenance' one- i basically wanted something less 'toxic' than other foundations. i'm glad i didn't buy this, i tend to believe it's crap. it gave me a slight feeling of dryness.
my friend has been using this foundation for a while and it didn't treat her acne or blemishes. i think this is crap and i will certainly never purchase it taking into consideration the humongous price i'd have to pay (in sweden is somewhere around 450 crowns, which is almost 60 USD).

I had been an avid MAC makeup user for many years as it worked great covering my acne as a teen and into my early twenties. However, MAC makeup became too heavy for my aging skin and actually caused my skin to later break out with adult cystic acne. Mineral foundation was too drying and stimulated sebum production -- not good. It took me a long time to find makeup that was actually good for my skin offering antioxidants, sun protection, and nourished aging skin without stimulating oil production. Dermalogica offered some of these properties which made me happy. Since Dermalogica had to sacrifice good coverage and staying power in exchange for beneficial ingredients in their product, I have to use this in conjunction with a Korean brand blemish balm (BB) cream. BB cream offered the SPF protection and coverage Dermalogica couldn't and is great for my skin. The only problem with most BB creams is that they only come in very light ethnic East Asian skintones -- and I'm not about to mix it with any other makeup defeating its nourishing makeup properties. I mix BB cream with Dermalogica to match my olive-tan skintone and I'm very please with the coverage and how great my skin now looks and feels. My blackheads and cystic acne are virtually gone and I look more radiant now than I ever did in my more youthful years. I love Dermalogica and BB cream!!!

I have to disagree with most of the reviews of this product. I initially bought shade 1 after being coerced by a dermatologist. It was completely the wrong shade for me and the application was awful. I rued the day I'd ever bought it.
Fast forward a few years and I purchased shade 1G on ebay for about £8. These days I have a foundation brush and I would say THIS ONLY WORKS WITH A BRUSH! Much better colour on my skin, application is close to flawless and the appearence of my skin once I've taken my make-up off has a far less "red and irritated" look to it. I wouldn't say its a wonder product but applied correctly I'm very happy with it.
Only bad points is that its not great at dealing with under-eye circles and that it isn't too long-lasting. The first application needs to be your best, it doesn't hold up to 'touch-ups'.
Skin: pale with yellow undertones, redness on cheeks.

Not exactly the best foundation around. Not for me anyway.
It literally melted away after two, maybe three hours... I'm not sure what this product is supposed to be treating either. Certainly not oiliness or blemishes. Doesn't provide much cover and just feels greasy from the moment you apply it.

This product is ok. I bought it because I was pregnant/breastfeeding and I wanted something a little more natural, it is quiet sheer and doesn't really cover up blemishes, I got the right colour but it's just not the best foundation, also I think dermalogica should take the work 'treatment' our of their title. it's totally false advertising, it does not treat blemishes at all, in fact in many cases I have broken out from using this product.

I recently got my hands on shade 2 and it was way too dark for me. My face seems to have gone lighter than my body from the sun so my foundation has been looking too light. Since it was too dark i mixed it with my lighter foundation and the colour looked different but when put on it looks the same as the lighter foundation!
So basically its so sheer with no coverage at all.
In hot weather it literally melts on your face. I had my phone against my face and the foundation just melted right onto it and also on my sunnies.
Maybe 1g would suit me better but its just too sheer and melty. The dewy look after looks nice and natural but it feels wet like u can rub your finger on your face and leave a line.
Definitely not recommended for the beach, summer weather and if you want coverage!
If i can get my hands on a cheap 1g i'll probably try it again but i will definitely buy again.

EEE Yuuuuuk!!!! Lucky for me I got a tube of the 1G for only $7.00 (it was 75% off). It was way too dark for my skin, it just stayed on top and looked ashy and strange....kinda like I mixed in some ashy bronzer with some KY jelly and vasaline mixed together and then slapped it on my face. Big mistake......on the part of Dermalogica for making such a gross product.
