This dries my face out while the regular cleanser does not. This one does not leave a residue but I also feel it didn't rinse as clean. I like the squeeze tube packaging better though.

This is a GREAT cleanser -- I had to buy this when the store was out of the AlphaHydrox Foaming wash and I was very skeptical it would work for my summertime oily skin, but it was amazing. However, it is slightly drying and not at all moisturizing like it says -- just beware. I'm using my OoO scrubbie cloths right now -- AH is too drying for me in the winter.

This is a great creamy cleanser that foams into a rich frothy lather. I love the fact that it contains Wheat Proteins and Vitamin E and it really rinses clear to pave the way for the 10% gel!

this is by far the best drugstore facial cleanser i've used (i have normal-to-dry skin, not sensitive). it cleanses thoroughly and doesn't leave any residue, unlike the popular OoO sensitive facial wash, and it's not drying either. there's a noticeable fragrance which doesn't linger. i got it from drugstore.com.
edit to add that once winter rolled by, this cleanser did feel drying on my normal-to-dry skin. i'm now trying out PC's skin discovery, which seems better for dry weather.

This cleanser foams and feels like velvet, really soft and luxurious , love this about it. It cleanses really good and rinses off completely , there is no residue behind at all. After the washing, the skin is not dried out, another great thing. It is relatively cheap too. The only thing that really sucks about this cleanser is the it comes into a tub and every time I use it I just press (gently though) it comes out to much . A pomp would definitely be better. Overall , great cleanser, much better then a lot of high end cleansers. It didn’t break me out at all either.

This cleanser is part of the Optimum series from Alpha Hydrox. It comes in a red opaque squeeze tube with a screw off cap--not the best packaging, but I could live with it for the price ($5.99 for 5 oz).
The cleanser consistency is like whipped cream cheese and there appears to be no added scent. It took very little to build a nice amount of foam. It removed all of my makeup except for my waterproof mascara. Didn't burn my eyes. Left my skin feeling clean but not stripped. Two hours later, my face felt a little oily in the T-zone. (Normally I can go about 4 hours before oil break-through.) Therefore I would say this is moderately moisturizing.
Two days later I noticed that my face was breaking out. I checked the ingredients list of this cleanser and found stearic acid as one of the main ingredients, which is a known pore-clogger. Back to the drugstore.
Bottom line, if you have normal/dry skin that is not prone to breakouts, try this cleanser. You might just love it.
