I have fair, extremely sensitive skin, with thick, dark hair. This is the ONLY shaving product in the HISTORY OF THE WORLD that LETS ME SHAVE. I can shave my brows on my face, I can shave my legs, I can shave under my arms, and I don't get razor burn, I don't get cuts. You don't need a lot, either. Well played, LUSH.

My husband really hated this. He said it really didn't help removing any hair and the product stuck to the razor. He also didn't like the smell.
I use this now to shave my legs. They do feel softer and better but it's just too much trouble...:(

I got some on the suggestion of the SA who said it may help post-shave because my legs are always itching and burning afterward. I tried it and really noticed no difference. I gave the rest to DH for him to try out as a shaving cream. He's also underimpressed with this one and is still using his Gillette preferentially...

I bought this for my boyfriend who has sensitive skin.
While the product wasn't horrible, it was nothing we couldn't buy at walmart for less. The razor clogging wasn't an issue as he ran it under water between swipes.
I tried it after him and I wasn't overly impressed at all

The clogged razor syndrome is what put me off. I do one shave, and then I can't get the stuff out of the razor to continue. Absolutely useless.

I seriously hated this. Originally I bought it for my boyfriend who has very sensitive skin and it only made it worse. We went to the art of shaving and showed them what we got and they LOLd because its more of a preshave oil than actual shaving cream. So he got the art of shaving kit and has not had razor bumps or ingrown hairs since.
I finished the bottle because I didnt want to toss it and it was the worst. It would clog up my razor and made my skin so bumpy. I do not recommend this to anyone.

i love this as a shaving product. best used on female body hair as its slightly runnier than a cream, so it spreads really thinnly on the areas that you use it on. you have to leave it on for a couple of minutes to allow the formula to soften the hair and protect your skin with all those lovely soothing ingredients.
i find this really helpful at reducing razor burn and bumps. perhaps not strong enough for my fiance's forest of stubble...OOoohh well i'll have to have it all to myself.....

This, along with a Gillette Venus razor, is the best shave money can buy. It comes out of the bottle a thin lotion, which I rub in a bit before shaving - it protects my skin from the razor, but allows for a close shave and is transparent so I can see what I'm doing. Absolutely no razor burn afterwards, and I've certainly never cut myself while using this. I don't know what's with the haterade for the scent - it's just a vague spicy smell, not delicious like the ad copy says, but not offensive either. I don't love the somewhat rigid plastic bottle packaging - it's easy to dispense way too much, which is something of a disaster @ C$16 per bottle!

I tried this on a whim when my regular shaving product from Kiss My Face started irritating, shall we say, my more "delicate" areas. I was a little skeptical at first because this thickish lotion doesn't lather or foam, bit I find that it has enough slip to prevent razor drag as long as I rinse the blades frequently, as directed. This affords me a smooth shave, and leaves my skin *incredibly* smooth and soft. I don't mind the smell at all, and it doesn't linger anyway. I don't love the packaging (I think Lush's packaging is ugly, and this takes a couple of good smacks to get it out), but oh well. What I really don't like is the price. This stuff is awfully expensive to use everyday for my armpits, so I have forbidden my BF to use the Ambrosia, I use it just for my "lady bits", and I stick to KMF Peaches 'N Cream for the rest.

I don't use this as a shaving cream, but as an after shave lotion for my legs and for that purpose it is wonderful. It prevents ingrown hairs and gives me silky soft skin. But as a shaving cream? It clogs the razors, and I for one have switched to a real high end shaving cream and am so much happier with the result!

great for guys with sensitive skin. Lighter textures guarantees a smoother and closer shave. Skin is left feeling very soft...and no razor bumps.

I bough this purely out of curiosity and had very low expectations on how it'd work for me. However, Ambrosia proved to be a great buy. Shaving my legs is usually near impossible for me as my skin gets so itchy and uncomfortable even if I have a long shower before but with this, I have no problem with shaving whatsoever even if I have just one day between the shaves!
The bad things about Ambrosia is that it smells AWFUL and my legs feel waxy when shaving (no smooth glide as usual) and the stuff gets stuck between the blades but the smell goes away with a little soap and I'd much rather spend some time cleaning the razor than with itchy legs.
Anyone who has trouble with itchy skin after shaving should give this a shot.

I bought this product because I get really irritaded and dry skin on my legs after shaving, this product didnt help me at all, I had better results using my boyfriends Gillette foam! I will not use this product again, however I decided to try another of the Lush shaving creams, Razorantium, and I LOVE it! I have no more shaving rash or dry legs using Razorantium, So try that one instead! :)

Why is my local LUSH store always busy, and why do I fall into temptation thinking that at least one of thier products must be good if so many people shop there?????
I am truly done. Will never step inside again. What a fad, what a rip, what a testimony to the fact that men and women will fall for this gimmicky store. I should blend up some nice shea butter and a little carrot seed oil, give it a cutesy name and start my own business. Amrosia has a nice name and so is Angels on Bare Skin. Don't be fooled. It is all crapola.

This is a light and runny shawing lotion that you apply to dry skin to prevent irritiation. It has almost a herbal smell that is typical for Lush products. I can imagine some people disliking it but I really don't mind that much. It doesn't linger for long. The reasons for me not liking this is that it's too runny and doesn't really do much for my skin. I usually shave in the shower so the fact that it doesn't work well on wet skin (slips off) is another downside.

I don't understand how this has got such low reviews-I think I'm in the minority when I say I really like this product! It doen't foam up like most shaving products do, but instead, makes your skin slippery, which I find results in much smoother legs! hehe. This one is designed for sensitive skin and has a unisex smell-my brother also uses it on his face! I don't get those little bumps you get on your skin after shaving when I use this either. Another thing is that because you can buy it in varrious size bottles, including a tiny 50g one, this is ideal for putting in your suitcase. The only complaint is the price, which is expensive for a shaving cream, but then I suppose we can't have it all, and a big bottle does last me a long time as I don't seem to need to use much of it in one go. I will definitely be buying this again!

i am pretty impressed with this product. honestly i would like to say i am not sensitive when it comes to shaving, but it might just be a high pain tolerance. i usually experience irritation on my legs and razorburn on my bikini line no matter what i use. cream, conditioner, plain water: it makes no difference. this product actually eliminated any discomfort and i experienced NO irritation or razorburn. i didn't feel the need to moisturize after shaving at all, almost like there was a smooth barrier of comfort sitting on my freshly shaved skin. it really does come in a much-too-tiny bottle but i'm hoping it keeps treating me so well; i never knew how nice it was to just be against-the-grain smooth without any redness, bumps, or soreness. edit: 09/12/08: well i still have this bottle but it is almost gone. over time, i would occasionally still get razorburn but it is a fairly good defense. i don't use it everyday i suppose out of fear that i will run out and have to replace it. i DO use it when i need to be well shaved. oh, also for the record: i use a simple safety razor, which i believe helps a lot.

Well, I still don't get the Lush thing. I haven't liked one item I have tried from them and always get samples first. Angels on Bare Skin is Demons on Bare Skin in my opinion.Ambrosia is so overpriced for what you get in the ingredients. I feel like everything there is a potion you could make in your own kitchen. Even the soaps are overly scented. I guess I am just one of the few that doesn't like Lush and I won't be tempted by them again.

I love this, but hate the price. I got the closest shave ever with no irritation. I have no problem rinsing it from my razor - it seems to rinse as well as anything.. I rinse after each stroke. The smell is nothing special, but not strong either. I am not sure if I will repurchase... I may try the kiss my face that a poster below recommended, since it gets really great reviews. Although I love the ambrosia, I think there must be a cheaper alternative.

I don't understand why this product has terrible reviews! It simply does what it aims to do...protect sensitive skin from the aftermath of shaving!
I used it in my nether regions..and i didn't get shave burn..which is why i will continue to use this product. The price is the only thing that sucks because you don't get that much of it.
