I haven't actually bought it (just tried once at HK airport) but I recently switch to PTR products and they seem to suit my problem skin very well.
This tinted mois has a nice texture after applying BUT anyone notice the unpleasant smell???

I was pretty excited about trying this after reading some reviews, and I like it a little bit. The tint is a little ashy looking to me (that's to be expected with physical sunblocks, I suppose), and absolutely wouldn't work on darker skintones. The formula is a little too slippery for me....LOTS of silicones. It doesn't have a greasy finish...in fact, it almost feels powdery, but it kind of sits on top of my face, and I can't wear mineral powder on top of it.
I have fairly sensitive skin, and lots of products make it sting...this one doesn't, so that's a plus!!! I think this will be good for "no foundation" summer days.

A very strange product indeed, but it does not make me break out--which is why I wanted to try this line. The application is strange--very thick and gluey, but after 30 seconds it sinks into the skin with a subtle sheen. I wish it had more tint coverage to it, but it's one of the few sunblocks that doesn't break me out, so I will buy this again. Very good physical sunblock.

this great product has a lot going for it. 1) Great sun protection (tianium and zinc), water resistant for 40 minutes, suitable even for the most sensitive skins. I apply it without a problem around the eye area.
2) Some great water binding ingredients (ceramides, sodium hyaluronate)
3) A nice tint that evens skin out. and silicones that leave skin soft. I was worried from reading the reviews that it will not match my medium skin (NC 30/NC 40). But thankfully I was wrong. However, this is not a non streak formula, so it is best to apply after being dressed
4) The formula, thanks to aloe vera- is pretty refreshing initially thick but it sets rapidly. The time it takes me to brush my teeth is usually enough.
5) My only complaint is it is rather low in antioxidants and contains some extracts that are rather boring and some are possible skin irritants; I didn't have any problem so far. I would however have prefered a formula that had more Vit E, and Vit C, or Vit A. But I for a morning cream I haven't found any better.
6) Lastly it is packaged in a very nice hygienic pump bottle, so all the ingredients will remain stable. I am not sure how long it will last but the formula is rather thick and spreads well so I don't seem to be using very much
UPDATE: I rushed to write all those good things. It broke me out, it is very pore occlusive The tint doesn't set well at all. And it left many times my skin itching. I found out that the arnica extract it contains is a serious skin irritant. II switched to Clinique Superdefense

I was a little leary about buying this product when I tested it at Sephora. My skin is prone to cosmetic acne and to a good mid day shine. The all physcial block SPF from titanium dioxide and zinc oxide scared me as did the very, very thick texture of this cream. I bought it anyway and it works very well. It comes in a great opaque pump which is hygenic and protects the ingredients from light and air. The very thick texture of the product makes it a little hard to spread, but once you get the hang of it, it spreads out very thin and is non-greasy, and quick absorbing. I thought for sure the thick texture would feel heavy or too moisturizing, but not at all. This ends up feeling very lightweight, although the total physical block does have a noticeable smell but it's not horrible. Along with my neutrogena Sheer Dry Touch, this is a staple sunblock. I love being able to wear a physical block that doesn't break me out, which most do. The yellow tint blends out almost to be unnoticable, but anyone with darker skin tones might not be able to wear it. It is not as pigmented as a tinted moisturizer, but does help to even out any slight redness on my face and does a great job of adding just a little bit more coverage for my under eye circles undeneath my concealer.

I was lucky enough to find this on sale at a local skin salon so I decided to try it. Since I use Retin-A I need a more potent spf during the summer than my usual 15 and this has 30. This is great for sensitive skin as it has no fragrance nor chemical sun blocks. It's got a tint to keep my light skin from looking ghostly but I don't think it would work for someone with a medium/dark complexion. It pumps out thick from the tube so I use it sparingly. Once I got used to the dewy, creamy texture it got easier to apply. So far this is the best serious sun protection I've found for my face that doesn't feel like I have a mask on or an oil slick on my T-zone. Unless I find something better I would buy this again.

It's the only sunscreen I can use on my sensitive, rosacean face. I tried many many others, but it's the only one that causes no reaction and doesn't feel heavy on my face.
It is thick when it goes on, but it gives light coverage and tint. It doesn't leave my face shiny either.
The price is pretty high, but it's worth every penny to me.

This stuff is terrific. I tried this for the first time surfing in Waikiki, and was I relieved that it works so well! I have rosacea, and this doesn't cause me any skin irritation. It is hyper-thick, so it is easiest to apply if you pat it on with your fingertips. It goes on whitish, but this disappears within a few minutes. I like the idea of using a physical block primarily because it doesn't break down within 1 1/2 hours (as all American chemical sunscreens do), so theoretically you don't have to reapply. I do, if I am out longer, just in case I rub some off inadvertently. It also didn't cause me any breakouts. I must admit: I was impressed with this stuff and have already re-purchased. Thank-you PTR

I like this product very much. Although I m not a fan of sunscreens as I usually find they make skin look kinda bad with clogged pores and irritation. I dont think I would use this all the time, but probably in summer when I m out all day or generally in the sun. It is tinted and kinda evens out the skintone and neutralises redness! This is great and makeup goes on very smooth on top of that. This is great for sensitive skins. I recommend and would repurchase.

I am a CCC, have hypersensitive skin in addition to rosacea. I have been trying in vain to find a non-chemical sunscreen that does not leave a white-ish cast on my skin. I researched the PTR product bec many rosaceans recommended it, has a yellow base compared to the Dermalogica Ultrasensitive sunscreen (spf 25). PTR (SPF 30) really isn't a moisturizer so much as a sealant, it doesn't moisturize in the typical sense of hydrating. Its a thick plasticized type of covering that melts into your skin. Update 4/04: no longer using this, switched to Skinceuticals.
