Hmm, this was very drying/stripping to my hair.

This made my scalp irritated like mad. If you're looking for a good shampoo, try Giovanni's Triple Tea!

Aveda has discontinued this in favor of something even more expensive (if that's possible). That prompted my search for a new shampoo. What I liked about this was that you only had to wash your hair and did not need to follow up with conditioner for soft hair. I've tried a few health food store brands and have settled on Llamas, which is pretty affordable. I'm going to check out Aveda's replacement for Curessence and see how it compares cost-wise. You really can't beat the protein in Aveda's formula. Goobye Curessence-- It was good while it lasted.

My hair was really stressed and damaged from coloring and styling. I thought I was going to have to wait until all the dry hair grew out was trimmed before my hair would be in better shape but I started to use this stuff and after a few months my hair REALLY bounced back. The results take some time to show up but it is worth it. It is a very gentle shampoo that really nourishes hair. If you have very oily hair though it might be too gentle, but for me it is perfect. My HG! I now use this as a preventitive to damage by washing with it every other time.

This is a protein shampoo. They recommended I use this once or twice a week for my bleached hair. This shampoo is so moisturizing and gentle, and like all Aveda products it smells awesome. Love it!

I go to school at aveda. This is one of my favorite shampoos. It has the highest amount of protein of our shampoos. Don't forget to alternate a shampoo with a moisturizing base like Sap Moss. Remember protein and moisture are two different things.

Oh my, this stuff is like liquid gold. I have long, fine, color treated hair, pretty fragile, extremely tangly. This gave me the softest, smoothest feeling hair without being weighed down, no tangles, oh and the shine! It is gentle, perfect balance. I know I can't use this everyday, but I look forward to the days I do, it's amazing, try it! The conditioner is good too, but really not a necessity after this particular shampoo!

I am in love with this! I have shoulder length thick hair that was excessively damaged from blow drying and using a flat iron to it. The aveda lady recommended I use this shampoo every time I wash my hair. I purchased it without the conditioner and am extremely pleased. It leaves my hair incredibly healthier and Full of SHINE!! I just washed my hair w/ this yesterday and could not stop touching my hair--it felt that good! Ever since I used it the flat iron seems to do less damage. My hair is just shinier and feels so much stronger. It took me a while to get used to the "woodsy" herbal smell..i'm used to and like floral scents more but after using the product i could care less what it smells like! I am amazed and will repurchase definitely!

I can't believe anyone would prefer pantene! Pantene is all silicone and hype, nothing that actually nourishes your hair or has a lasting effect. This shampoo is the only one my hair can tolerate. It is extremely gentle. My hair is very thin and weak from bleaching and other shampoos literally melt it within a few seconds! This stuff works best if you let it sit in the hair for a min or so to let the ingredients penetrate the hair and scalp. The smell is so pleasant that it is no problem to do this is in the shower :) I actually cut down on using conditioner because this shampoo moisturizes so well! It is worth the hefty price tag for anyone with extremely sensitive over processed hiar...the kinda stuff that should be cut off but you can't bare to part with! My fave Aveda product

My hair was under great amount of stress from multiple color treatments, hard water, sun, hair dryer, and curling iron. Aveda sales lady recommended Curessence Damage relief shampoo and conditioner. I used them three times a week, since they are "heavy conditioners." I stopped blow drying my hair, and using the curling iron. Hopefully for an improvement after each application, I was disappointed every time. My hair didn’t feel moisturized. Pantene produced a better conditioner and shampoo. I'm actually returning the products today.
