WOW!!!
I've been using samples of this product for just three nights now and I can not believe the difference in my skin! My cheeks are softer, rosier and incredibly clear! I use this in combination with the brightening serum and the foaming cleanser. These products are little miracles in a bottle. The cream can feel a bit heavy, but that's okay as most night creams are. I just wish I could afford to KEEP using this cream. At $525 for a one ounce jar, it is definitely not something I can use regularly.

This Is by far the best cream that I have ever used. It is terribly expensive, but worth it. With this cream you don't need extra serums. This does it all.

This product is the most expensive cream that I ever buy. But it's worth every penny. I have been using this creme over 4 years and very impress. My skin use to be very dry, but now it's more smooth. I work 10 hours a day and sleep very late (around 1 pm everyday). I put this la creme before I sleep and in the morning my skin so soft and moist. What I do is I use the toner first, clarifying emulsion, then a little bit of this cream. It last me for 4 months.

Let me tell you the story I have with this La Creme, which I've been using since August of 2010.
I went through a period for about 3-4 weeks of EXTREME stress: it was the birth of grey hair, I lost about 13 pounds and I aged 5 years. My mother and my sister told me I look terrible and I knew I did. My complexion took the hardest hit where I had lost so much weight my skin-skeleton could not keep up. I looked like I had gotten about 4 hours of sleep a day (I think in reality on a good night I got about 5 hours when on average I got about 3-4). Knowing that my skin suffered a hard blow and since I'm on a normal regimen of lactic acid lotion in the mornings and evenings I needed to find a rich cream to revive my skin and to give it as much moisture as it could get.
My mom had Cle De Peau and I started using it during this time of stress. I remember the next morning I was in my car and looked in the rear view mirror and for a minute I did this Snow White thing where I totally admired myself in the mirror because I looked quite good! I didn't attribute my skin that day to that creme, but after using it for the next two days and did the same thing in the mirror, I suddenly realized it was because of the creme. As I raved about the creme, little did I know it costs FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS!!!!
But nevertheless, I've accepted the fact that a part of my salary will be devoted to skincare and I need a good creme nonetheless. I don't use it every night for I have very 'normal skin.'
Try a sample and perhaps you'll be blown away. But if it means that purchasing it will make your bank account cry everyday, then just stay away and find something else.
Good luck!

I love this creme and would buy it if I could afford it. I got to try it using samples given to me when I bought another Cle De Peau cosmetic. I think it is "the creme" for older maturing women. I'm 56 yrs. old and could see an immediate difference while using it. I just used it at night. And believe me, I've tried MANY cremes in my lifetime.... Obagi, LaRosche Posay, Skinceuticals, etc. (my plastic surgery center sells these) and just about all of the department store brands like Lancome, Shiseido, Prescriptives, Clinique, Estee Lauder, MAC, Peter Thomas Roth, Philosophy, etc.... none can compare.

I got the sample of this new version La Creme. I always wish someday i can get a try on it before i really get a jar. Finally i got 2 samples each 3ml. At 1st when i applied it on the face, i felt it was greasy, but the SA told me just go to bed with it. I was wondering will it cause any breakout to me.
The next day what surprised me was i can really feel my skin is firmer, smoother. Even it is oily, but it didn't cause me the breakout. The 2nd night i still put on it and see how the result. Recently my husband said my skin getting better and we assume this La creme maybe help. It also soften my wrinkle. Thanks God i will get a jar soon as i used my points to redeem it. For the price, it is expensive, but at least somewhere cheaper than the La Prairie Platinum Rare. If compare to La Mer, i think i prefer this CdP La Creme texture.

This is very expensive yet really does it job! After using it for a day, already feel that my skin is not as dehydrated as before!! I has some "retinol" thing but did not irritate my skin, which is very nice. As I've trying to use retinol, as it has proven to have really good anti aging effect, yet I got allergic reaction to all those products no matter how mild / stable they claim they are. Will definitely repurchase!!
After reading the review from Eudemun, I went to get the Synergique serum. (Synergique cream is way tooo expensive). The serum is super!!! Really worth a try!! It works wonder for me. After using it for only 2 days, it leaves my skin soft and hydrated and eliminate the use of any other product apart from this serum + a day cream.

I said I would buy the product again, but that is if I can come up with the cash!! :x I got some samples of the new version when I purchased the concealer. I thought, "are you kidding? Opec called and they want a barrel of oil from me!" and you want me to put this cream on my face? OK...so I gave it a try. I used a tiny amount (about 1/2 a pea). I woke up the next morning loving the feel of my face. And not a zit in site! I love this stuff and so does my skin. I look refreshed and not at all oily. Now if I could figure out how to get some at a great discount, I would have it made......lol

The prior review on this product is thorough and excellent and I cannot add much more information other than my personal reaction since I also used the "pre-2009" version of this cream. I am offering my own comparative observations between the new and prior version. I actually was quite a fan of the former incarnation of this product. But, what I didn't like was the obscenely high price for what it did.... hydration, hydration, hydration... VERY important for me at age 60.... but still not enough to justify the high, high price. I just got samples of the newly reformulated version of this product (released Jan 2009). This new rendition does a lot MORE for mature skin than its predecessor. Not only does it hydrate beautifully and even more effectively on my ultra dry skin as the result of an improved delivery system for better penetration, it's still gentle enough for my sensitive skin and rosacea. C de P has gone further and added several more active ingredients that ease hyperpigmentation, firm and lift, soften lines and increase collagen production. For me, it's only good as a night cream, not for day due to the retinol ingredient which causes some exfoliation. The new price is exorbitant @$750 for 1.7oz. I am SO lucky I got very generous trial sizes! I will continue to use this intermittently (as I did with the prior version) as it's just too expensive to use every night.

After waiting for a considerable number of months since it was first launched in Japan last December (in 2007), I have finally gotten hold of the third generation La Creme u ( La Creme s in Japanese market ) from Cle de Peau Beaute ( La Creme i was the second generation product, and La Creme n was the first generation product ). ***I uploaded the images of the new packaging and the newly designed jar for La Creme s (Japanese version) [ La Creme u (international version) ] for this product review title so that you can see the new product.

The spot deactivating complex (with Ascorbyl Glucoside, Zingiber Aromaticus, and Gambir extract) in La Creme i has been replaced and/or enhanced with Shiseido's exclusive 6th generation whitening ingredient, 4MSK (Potassium 4-methoxy salicylicate), in La Creme s and La Creme u.
4MSK is the most technologically advanced whitening ingredient from Shiseido so far, and superior to the 5th generation 3-O-Ascorbic Acid ( featured in Shiseido White Lucent line as multi-target vitamin C), and the 4th generation Arbutin W with 2-O-Ascorbic Acid ( featured in Shiseido Whitess Whitess EX) in its ability to penetrate deeper into the skin beyond the sub-cutaneous layer.
The latest herbal and plant extracts that promote HA synthesis, optimizes ion channels ( the Cellular IC normalizer as in La Creme i), activate fibroblasts, and speed up CE (Corny Envelope) layer maturation such as W plasmin controller, blue cornflower (Centaurea Cyanus) extract, and a proteolytic enzyme optimizer, Gelatinase controller EX (Pyrola Incarnata extract, etc.), which are the newest ingredients of the company have also been added to La Creme s and La Creme u.
La Creme u also contains moisturizing ingredients SP signal controller (hydrolyzed silk, etc.) to take care of damaged skin caused by dryness and ultraviolet rays. Last, but not least, Shiseido has added retinyl acetate (a retinol derivative referred to as Retinol ACE that is superior to retinyl palmitate) for smoothing texture and line-minimizing as well.

Ingredients: Water, Pentaerythrityl Tetraethylhexanoate, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Triisostearin, Squalane, Behenyl Alcohol, Xylitol, Maltitol, Petrolatum, Dimethicone, **Potassium Methoxysalicylate, PPG-12/SMDI Copolymer, Stearyl Alcohol, Beheneth-20, Phenoxyethanol, Silica, Tocopheryl Acetate, Alcohol, Potassium Hydroxide, Carbomer, Polyvinyl Alcohol, Trisodium EDTA, Citric Acid, **Retinyl Acetate, Fragrance, Sunflower Seed Oil, BHT, Panthenyl Ethyl Ether, Serine, Sodium Metaphosphate, Sodium Citrate, Iron Oxides (CI 77492), Hexyl Cinnamal, Alpha-isomethyl Ionone, Citronellol, Geraniol, Sodium Metabisulfite, Limonene, Linalool, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate, Thymus Serpillum Extract, Benzyl Benzoate, Centaurea Cyanus Flower Extract, Chaenomeles Sinensis Fruit Extract, Rosa Centifolia Flower Extract, Hydrolyzed Silk, Pyrola Incarnata Extract, Rasberry Leaf Extract, Iron Oxides (C1 77491), Tocopherol, Rosa Roxburghii Fruit Extract, Uncaria Gambir Extract, Bupleurum Falcatum Root Extract, Zingiber Aromaticus Extract, Hypericum Erectum Extract
Effective Ingredients are noted with ** .

However, I must say that Cle de Peau Beaute's Japanese market-exclusive the highest-end product under the brand's top-end line Synergique, Creme Synergique (40g), is noticeably far more superior to La Creme s if you compare each cream's performance in one single night. But, again the price difference between the two is huge because Creme Synergique (40g) is around USD $1260.00 whereas La Creme s (25g) is around USD $525.00 in Japan.

I am 52 with rosacea and very sensitive skin, just to give you an idea of my skin-type. My skin is combination ~ tends toward blackheads on the nose and is not really overly dry. I purchased La Crème and was very excited as I had wanted to try it for ages, but, the cream was so expensive and my skin so sensitive that I could not justify the purchase. Well, I recently read a great article about Cle de Peau and decided to give it a try. I purchased the gentle cleansing foam, the balancing toner/softener and off I went on my journey/quest for great skin. I have been using this product about one month. At first my skin looked great and now I am not so sure. I will keep using and update. It is very moisturizing and does not leave skin feeling or looking greasy/oily. Moisturization lasts at least 12 hours! With the cleanser and toner/softener, the blackheads on my nose are almost completely gone. My skin has experienced some break-outs and I am hoping it will all settle down and look as good as it did at first with this cream. The first week my skin looked fantastic. I really don't know why it is acting up now. It may be the cream or the sunscreen (Cle De Peau primer SPF 22) or it could be the warmer weather...
In summary, if my skin looked as good as it did the first week~ this would absolutely be worth the price and eligible for “holy grail” status. Since my skin is experiencing some break - outs about 3 weeks to a month into usage, I will hold a completely enthusiastic review at this point. My minor wrinkles have diminished which is a plus.

UPDATE: December 16, 2008
I absolutely cannot use this cream, which is a shame because I wanted to love it. The concept was great ~ cleanse, tone, moisturize, sunscreen in AM ~ no serums. The cream was supposed to replace the need for serums, eye creams, and other specialty creams (neck, lip, etc). But, this cream is a "no - go" for me. I tried it as a night cream now that temperatures have slipped below freezing, thinking my previous bad reaction may have been caused by the warmer weather. My forehead had a very bad reaction (bumps, pimples, etc.) and the redness of rosacea (on my cheeks) increased. I can only use this as a hand cream. A newly reformulated version is due out in January, 2009. I will not be trying it, as I am very happy with my current skincare regime. I feel this cream is overpriced for me and that the science behind this line is hazy. I do really like the Gentle Toner of Cle de Peau (lotion tendre), which I use daily on my nose to prevent blackheads. I also like the SPF 22 Primer, which is a great sunscreen for rosacea (SPF 22 Smoothing Base). I am glad that I tried this line as some of the Cle de Peau products are outstanding.

I had been using La Creme from Kanebo before I started this one 2 years ago. Kanebo reformulated theirs a shortwhile after Cle De Peau added ascorbyl glucoside to theirs. I switched back to Kanebo when they reformulated and someone I work with ...asked me...What are you doing differently to your skin? Innocent you might say. Well when I said I had started using Kanebo and told them all about it... then they said...well your skin isnt so perfect anymore! I was floored. Then I thought about..and drug about some pictures..and it was true. My skin had more discoloration than it had before. When ever I popped a pimple I always bragged...THEY GO AWAY IN A WEEK. Kanebo did not duplicate that same thing. I used their cream for 3 months and switched right back to the Cle De Peau version. Viola...no more dark spots. I use a retinol serum from skinmedica underneath..and I did so with both. So the only thing I can come up with is that the Kanebo didnt work that well for me. It feels great..better than the Cle De Peau. I like their jar better to, and love their toner esque product BUT...once I stopped that regimen...I got back my enviable skin. I dont care what is in what as long as I see a difference. I really love Cle De Peau La Creme. It doesnt feel like goo on me, and my skin always looks bright and pretty. So who knows. Alot of people seem to dislike it, and some love it. I dont care what is costs...I dont know that it works miracles either. I just dont want dark spots, and I like that people love my skin when I use it religiously.

I received a sample of the creme from one of the Cle de Peau's SAs at this boutique that I frequented. I'd heard so much about this creme that I was more than just excited to try on this product. My skin is, again, sensitive, oily, prone to acne, blemishes, and clogged pores. Let me tell you that La Crème is an *extremely* heavy moisturizer. I could actually feel the creme sitting as a layer on top of my skin. I just left the creme on overnight, hoping to see some kind of magical result in the next morning. That morning what I saw were, sadly, tell-tale signs of blemishes. Nevermind the non-visual feeling of soft and well-moisturized skin. I knew that if I had tried on the creme for one more night, it would have given me horrible breakouts. I would also like to add that at the time that I was using this creme, I actually was using the Cle de Peau skincare line: Mousse Nettoyante Fraiche > Lotion Fraiche > Emulsion Protectrice Fraiche (Day) > Emulsion Fraiche (Night), with the occasional Essence Energisante. In the end, even with the regular use of the basic skincare by Cle de Peau, La Crème still had a horrible effect on my skin. To say that I was disappointed in La Crème is such an understatement.. continued >>

Unlike the advance technology products in the US that aims for quick visible results by using ingredients to force the turn over of aged skin, the Japanese tend to take a more subtle approach to corrective skincare without disrupting the skin. However the only problem I have with Japanese products is, in order to see results you must use atleast all the basic products from the same line. Trust me, it gets expensive.

Just saw this article: "Anti-Aging Creams - Do Expensive Products Always Work Better?" from ABC News. "Hat tip to John Stossel’s “Myth busting” articles.
In the multibillion-dollar anti-aging cream industry, many consumers believe the most expensive product is the most effective. ABC News did an anti-aging cream comparison piece recently, with the help of a group of women, in their 30’s and 40’s looking to reduce wrinkles and perhaps age a bit more gracefully.
One volunteer, Christine, was sent to try the most expensive anti-aging cream she could find: Cle de Peau Beaute, La Crème, an anti-aging cream, ringing in at an astounding price of $450 per ounce. Christine was placed on a strict skincare regimen for three months using a gentle cleanser, sunscreen and La Crème every day.
Meanwhile, another volunteer, Kelly, would follow a similar regimen including the prescription cream Avage at one-fifth the price. Avage contains retinoids that are approved by the FDA and clinically proven to change the structure of the skin. Three months later the women returned to a skincare expert for review and as expected, the cheaper anti-aging cream product had good results. But the high-priced cream showed no visible improvements. I find that this is also true of almost all hair products as well.
The Cle de Peau’s manufacturer sent us a statement saying that their products are extensively researched and tested for efficacy before being put on the market, but wouldn’t share their research with ABC News, citing trade secrets. I don’t know about you but, I’m really getting tired of this corporate happy talk from companies who produce and sell cosmetic and beauty products to women. A big Atta-boy to John Stossel and the ABC news team.
* Bottom line: Price is no guarantee and the best wrinkle cream may already be in your medicine cabinet — sunscreen."

La Cream is part of the Cle de Peau specialty care line. Cle de Peau's Basic care is a complete anti aging line in itself, but when you feel like you need a little extra umph the La Cream encompasses all of the special care items in one cream (i.e. Anti Age Spot Serum, Intensive Wrinkle correcter, Clarifying Emulsion and so forth). If you were to buy each special care item on its own, it would cost you well over 700 dollars. The La Cream takes place of a night cream so you basically saving 350 dollars.
The La Cream is a gel emulsification for ALL skintypes. The dryest of the dry and the oilest of the oily can use it. It is to be added into a basic care regime. Cleanser, Balancing Softener (NOT TONER) then La Cream. If you are not using the balancing softener the product could sit on top of your skin if it is more on the normal to oily side. The balancer is hyloranic acid which pulls the la Cream to all three layers of the skin.
The disappointing reviews that I have read on the la cream i believe are simply because you are using the product wrong. If you are no using a shisedo brand softener (NOT TONER) then you are not using the product right. You need just a small amount (they put a spatula in the product for a reason), and you need to emulsify it in the fingertips then dot it around the 5 points of the face, then massage in. If you try it this way, i guarantee you will fall in love with the products.
Thanks,
Daniel

I really liked this; am surprised at the bad reviews below. I have sensitive skin that often gets dry and bought a pot of this when i was passing through bangokok and a bad skin phase. you only need to use the tiniest amount (the size of my little finger nail), like with creme de la mer you massage the cream between your palms to emulsigy it before applying it to the face. it smells delicious, provides long-lasting moisture. i also liked the fact that when you buy a product the staff are very generous with the good-sized free samples (all miniature forms of the original prodicts, not silly little sachets).

I'm sorry, this product does not impress me. Right now I have normal to dry skin and CdP's La Creme just sits on top and doesn't absorb. It's pricey and doesn't deliver for me. I received this as a sample size at the CdP counter - I would not purchase let alone re-purchase.

I received sample from the Cle de Peau counter in Singapore, so I am sure that this sample is genuine. The first few nites when I used it, I am put off by the super duper heavy texture, that DID NOT do anything for me at all. I have sensitive dry skin, and yet when I woke up the next morning, it only gave me oily T zone, that is all. No glow, no improvement to my skin tone, no smoothing of wrinkes. Thank goodness I tried it first before purchasing at S$800 a jar!! Really don't know what the fuss is all about here.
I would prefer La mer anytime to this cream, which definitely work wonders to my wrinkes, dark circles and skin tone, if not for its high price too.

I do agree that this is extremely expensive. Felted guilty for even purchasing this. I did receive quite a lot of samples so I knew what I was getting myself into. The morning after,my skin looked so luminous! So dewy! So rested. I am in my late 20's so my concern wasn't about wrinkles. I am more concern about prevention and the clearing up of acne scars. I use this 3x a week. Sometimes 7x....With this, I don't need to purchase a separate hydrating mask. This does it all. This will last for a loooong time! My sister even commented that her wrinkles has smooth out after I gave her this to try. I've seen such good results with CDP line that the results far out weigh the price. Expensive, but in the long run it will keep you from constantly searching for that miracle product.
