I don't know how to review this product. I was looking forward to trying this creme because it is an aloe vera based product that was supposed to be packed with antioxidants. I received it yesterday and I 've tried it only once so I will have to update concerning its effectiveness. It is fresh and hydrating moisturizer, strictly for night use because it leaves a glossy/oily film on the skin. What really bothers me is that with ASTARA you never know what you're putting on your skin. There are numerous versions of the ingredients list for this moisturizer on the internet (astara, sephora, skinstore etc) none of which matched the ingredient list on the package. And to make matters worse many of the advertised antioxidants are completely absent. (the only good news is that it incluldes preservatives). UPDATE: Never again with this moisturizer and probably Astara products in general. Not only I feel deceived from the fact that this moisturizer doesn't contain the advertised ingredients; but I wasn't even able to finish using this moisturizer as is. Although it is feels light, it leaves the skin greasy, glossy and covered with a film that gave me pimples after couple of weeks. This product amounts to an average night moisturiser for dry skin. The 1 rating is for the company's disingenious advertising & description of the product.
Anyhow here here is the ingredients list, as copied from my jar for those who trust Astara and want to give this product a try.

At first, I loved this....it's has so many anti-oxidants! The texture is nice, not to dry and not too greasey but it made my skin itch. I figure that if it's making me itch, it can't be good for my skin.

A light, non-greasy moisturizer where the first ingredient is Aloe Vera gel. I can surely appreciate the lightness of this creme, but it's really a heavey hitter. Contains tons of herbal extracts, Borage oil, shea butter, evening primrose oil, avacado oil, Sodium Hyaluronate, an endless amount of antioxidents, and luscious essential oils. I love this stuff...magic!UPDATE***Have found that the ingredients listed on the Astara website are only a partial list. These formulations contain artificial/chemical ingedients just like everything else. When a developer is not proud enough of their recipes, and tries to limit full disclosure of the product, it makes it look like they have something to hide. I'm pretty disgusted, and feel like they "got me" under false pretenses, but will not change the rating until I've used the system for at least six weeks.

A very fine quality (no chemicals, no synthetics, no bullsh**) moisturizer - that is wearable and non greasy. It is not nearly as heavy as the RICH formulation ande I find it suitable for everyday use on my normal to dry skin.
Smells great (Astara contains lots of natural botanicals and essential oils).
A must try, for me, anyway.

EDIT: I originally gave this a 3 but I have noticed that it goes bad really easily, like some other Astara products in jars. I had some in a little jar that I use for travel and it got contaminated (I found out because I got a rash around my mouth). So I threw that out and starting using it from my big jar again and the exact same thing happened, rash and all. Too bad, because I really liked this. I really love Astara stuff but I am not going to buy any of their stuff that comes in jars again. Original review: This is one of the only moisturizers that hasn't given my oily, acne-prone skin any problems. My skin tone looks much better when I use it. It's not very greasy and is perfect for me except for summer days when I don't use any moisturizer at all. It really calms my skin down! It is expensive but I have been able to get it more cheaply on EBay sometimes. This also doesn't contribute to breakouts and blemishes I do get leave less severe marks when I use this. I would have given this a 5 if not for the price.

i have very oily, acne-prone skin, but i really didn't find any problems with this product. it did not cause me to break out, though it did make my face very oily (but i dont mind being oily as long as i dont have any acne because it prevents wrinkles). this moisturizer didn't prevent breakouts. yes i still have breakouts occassionally. but i found that after they disappeared and left their little red mark behind, the red marks faded quite quickly, within the week, probably because of all the antioxidants in it. it smelled wonderful; i absoulutely adored the smell. the packaging is in a jar, so it can be quite unsanitary if you don't wash your hands before you dip your fingers in it. i think i bought for $42 for 2.2 oz. that is quite expensive but compared to other moisturizers like la pairire, the price is nothing. enjoy!
