At first I wasn't sure if I liked double wear because I was having such a hard time looking for the right color and not having my face look cakey. After numerous of samples, I finally found the right color which is Sand. For reference I wear mac pro longwear foundation in nc25. Now, it was the applying it I had to deal with. After a few tries, I finally found the way that woudn't make it look cakey.
I use sigma f82 brush and mac fix + spray. I spray the brush, dab off excess liquid and apply section by section. I spray my brush each section I do or if the brush is getting a little dry. This works perfect for me! This way you can add coverage if you need it but I don't recommend applying to much, apply concealer on any spots you want more coverage. Definitely will buy again

NC25 Chinese yellow w/ some reddish undertones from old acne.
Leaving the counter feeling like I'm wearing a mask, I probably would of returned the foundation very soon after if I had not discovered my MAC187 stippling brush could apply it much lighter. That said, tried both Sand (bit too light) and Desert Beige (too pink). Tawny would of been the next step down, but the SA said it would be just too dark. Unfortunately no great color match.
Great coverage, was turning shiny so I'd recommend a mattifying sunscreen like the Shiseido lotion versions.

I first bought this foundation after reading so many great reviews of it online. I bought it from Boots and it was around £26 which is fairly expensive, but as with most higher end brands you're paying for the knowledge that it is a quality product which will last you a long time, and if you're into buying full coverage foundations anyway then you're probably willing to invest.
My skin was very problematic when I first started using this, and I really needed something to cover any spots and try and make me feel my best. I can honestly say that this foundation did that. I could put it on at the start of the day, know that it would last all day (great not to have to worry about touching up with powder or anything), and it did make my skin look loads better. It didn't completely cover all my spots, but greatly reduced their appearance.
However, I'm not sure if it's because it contains spf, but it did not photograph brilliantly. In real life red marks would not be as visible, but with a camera flash they would show up prominently.
It has quite a thick consistency as you would expect with a full coverage foundation, but it never felt too heavy on my face at all except just right after I'd applied it. But in a few minutes I couldn't feel it. The downside to it being rather thick is that you have to work fast when applying it. The bottle looks very nice, but I didn't find it that practical because you have to pour it out, which was awkward especially when I'd nearly finished the bottle and it took ages to come out. Also it's glass and I was a bit cautious about travelling with it, but I never actually encountered any problems.
Overall, it is probably the best foundation I've ever tried (and I've tried a lot!). It is full coverage, but the cons of it being quite thick and hard to get off etc. are worth it because it makes your skin look a lot better when wearing it. It lasts all day (although I am a student so my days aren't that long!) and I would definitely recommend if you're having skin troubles and really need something to conceal any blemishes to regain confidence. If your skin is pretty good, I'd say it's probably a decent investment if you need the staying power, but otherwise it won't justify the price.

This is a really great foundation. Highly pigmented, exceptional coverage and as natural looking as you can get with a full coverage foundation. I have oily, acne-prone skin with a lot of redness and scarring on my cheeks and this foundation hides all of that. It gives a nice, even color that doesn't turn orangey over the course of the day. The color doesn't fade or wear out either and it keeps my oily skin pretty matte. I rarely have to touch up with powder. The application can be tricky because it is a heavier formula. I personally don't like that "mask" look, but I still need a lot of coverage in certain areas, so I've found that the best way to apply it is to start right after you moisturize, while your skin is still dewy. It lets the foundation slide on and absorb together with the moisturizer, leaving an even finish and eliminating any difficulty in bending. Basically, the foundation doesn't sit on top of your skin this way. I pour a dime size drop on the back of my hand and apply it with my Shu Uemura #18 goat foundation brush. It gives an airbrushed finish that I really love. The overall effect can seem a little heavy right after application, but as soon as it settles in, it's pretty natural. Just make sure you don't overload during your application, a little really does go a long way. I usually apply it to my cheeks first and then branch out to my chin, nose and forehead. That way my cheeks get the most coverage. Then, I touch up with a little more in the areas that still need some coverage - if there are any. Most of the time the foundation covers enough the first time around. Yes, it's expensive, but less so than a lot of other high-end brands and a bottle lasts a long time since it's highly concentrated. I'm NC30 and I wear this in Desert Beige 12 with no problems. It would be nicer if the bottle had a pump head instead of a screw off cap, but I can't really take a lippie off for that. If you pour too much out, it's easy to put it back in the bottle, as long as you do so immediately. Overall, a great, high quality foundation for Fall, Winter and Spring, though in the hot Summer months, it's a little too heavy in both look and feel.

I decided to change foundations since the dermablends formula had changed. I read some good reviews about the estee lauder double wear.
I ended up getting a sample and liked it. I ended up buying a full size bottle at dillards to my surprise it was very thick hard to blend and quick drying. It settles on to any lines and wrinkles u may have. Not a good foundation. Still searching for a good full coverge foundation.. Im trying a couple foundation right now will do reviews on them in the future.

This is my go-to. Its buildable with solid coverage. It doesn't cake, doesn't cause breakouts, and makes my skin look flawless, even through chemo.
The package is a solid glass bottle, and while it doesn't have a pump, it fits the MAC pump for $7 from any MAC counter. I wash the pump and reuse it between bottles.
Because Estee Lauder is so frequent with "gift time" between the different department stores, this becomes pretty reasonable, as it is priced at the $35 threshold to get the freebies, and the stuff that comes with justifies the purchase nicely.

finally i have bought a foundation which doesnt oxidise on my skin. it stays where i put it until i decide to take it off. you just need a tiny bit of it to cover your face and it doesnt get cakey or look unnatural. i m happy that i have found my foundation to use for the rest of my life. it is not pricey comparing the results you get with it. the bottle not having a pump doesnt bother me. I apply it with my fingers and get great results. my face stays matte and doesnt get oily as much.

Love this foundation! Switched from Lancome's Tient Idole to Estee Lauder and I am so glad I did. Makes my skin look flawless and lasts all day. No need for touch ups! Only thing I can complain about is the packaging. I wish it was a pump!

I have extremely oily skin. With this foundation I get shiny after maybe 3 hours, with any other foundation (and I tried a fair few) after 1 hour. Stays on face all day, does not transfer, does not make me break out. Colour looks extremely natural, not caky at all.

I normally dont write many reviews, but this warrants one. It is absolutely fantastic. It covers well, leaves skin nice and matte but not too dry that it sinks into lines etc. It leaves skin flawless, even toned.....and doesnt come off untiil you wash it off. And for what it is, the price is even good compared to other brands some of which are double in price, and nowhere near as good. It hasnt got so many reviews for nothing. Its my HG!

This foundation was the best thing to happen to me. It's full coverage, matte, and stays on all day. With my oily skin, I would expect other foundations to fall off two hours after putting it on. Not this! I usually set it with a powder, and it doesn't budge. My skin looks great in this foundation. My only qualm with this product is the bottle, which I know a lot of people have expressed annoyance over. It's a pretty heavy glass bottle with no pump or anything, so I feel like a lot of the product gets wasted. Other than that, I would fully recommend this foundation.

This product has by far the best staying power ive seen on any foundation. It has amazing coverage without looking cakey when applied right. And has a nice finish. It is a little on the pricey side, but it is a high end brand. However, it is worth ever single penny if you find your shade. They have a wide range of shades, so finding your shade is likely. However, being asian, i have really warm undertones. I am an NC 25 - 30 and the 'sand' shade (2w1) is too light but the 'tawny' is a little too dark. I guess i would be more closer to tawny..i dont know, i have both to mix to get the perfect color. BUT! Even though both shades are warm, they show up still too pink on me. I get this problem with a lot of foundations.. actually i get this with almost all foundations. When i step out into the sun, or into a well lit area, my face will either look too orange or pink. its very frustrating. This would be a HG foundation for me, if it matched my undertone. Unfortunately, it doesnt so ill stick with my coverfx.

I LOVE this foundation! This & Lancome 24hr are my favorites. I'm about an NC 35-40 & use the shades Tawny & Shell Beige. I have never in my life used a foundation with the lasting capabilities that this has. It beats out all other foundations in terms of wear, even the Lancome 24hr which claims to last for 24 hours - DW actually lasts longer on me & it only boosts 15 hours. But please for the sake of your loyal customers Estee Lauder start putting a pump on this foundation, I think people will like it so much more!
TEXTURE:
It's actually a bit runny which I don't have a problem with as it comes out the bottle easily. The smell of this is very distinct, it's not really a bad smell, just a very distinct foundation scent. I apply this with my Sigma f80 brush over primed skin & this foundation applies beautifully (just make sure you prep your skin well before-hand or it won't apply well, I make sure my skin is well-exfoliated before I use this) I work in large sections quickly as it sets pretty fast.
FINISH:
If applied right, this foundation will look really nice, it has a medium-to-full, buildable coverage, I never need to spot conceal. But this foundation I almost find to be a little high-maintenance because if your skin isn't well prepped before-hand this foundation can look a mess (exfoliate, moisturize, prime!) It has a soft-matte finish, just don't over apply or it can get cakey. It also makes your face look a little one-dimensional so I advise contouring & high lighting with this. This foundation can be a little drying so it's best for normal, combo, or oily skin types. It can at times also feel a little heavy on the skin which doesn't bother me but so it's not for people who can't stand the feeling of makeup. This also sets nicely, you don't have to powder.
WEAR:
Hands down longest wearing foundation ever! I can't say it enough because it's true! I've tried so many long wearing foundations & this has beat them all. I went to an all day rave-festival with this on for a straight 18 hours of walking around in high humidity & dancing & this was still on, oily, but still on! It's the only foundation that on my oily skin is truly transfer-resistant. In terms of oil-control, it's very good, I don't look like an oil-slick throughout the day so this always leaves me looking very polished. This also doesn't oxidize on me which most foundations tend to do.
OVERALL:
This is an amazing foundation, I will continue to buy this forever. Long wearing, great coverage, & the shade range is so perfect for me as I have a hard undertone to match (warm leaning towards neutral) & the warm shades for this foundation aren't overly yellow so they match me perfectly. continued >>

I have this in Ivory cream, and I have to say, I DID NOT get this in the right colour. I bought this at the airport and it was not properly tested for me.
It turned out to be a little too pink based for me and thus did not look the least bit naturla as I am pretty yellow based. However, when applied thinly or sheered down with a damp sponge, it ain't that bad.
Pros: it stays, for a very very long time.
- relatively easy to blend
- no overly disturbing scents
- GREAT coverage
Cons: Can get very cakey if applied wrong
- I HATE the packaging
I think it is a great foundation if you have oily skin or requires alot of coverage and need your makeup to stay for hours. Beware when choosing the colours though.
Would not repurchase because I do not need such heavy coverage foundations.

Have been using this product for 5 years and wont be changing anytime soon. Although pricey it is well worth it if you have something to hide. I have a full face of freckles and this product covers those bad boys up! Even though it's thick already I like to apply a second layer of this double wear if I'm going out just to make sure it lasts with all my dancing and even with this double coat it doesn't feel heavy at all.
The shades are very good I choose between 2 shades, pebble and outdoor beige depending on season and sun exposure and the colours mix very well together to blend with my skin tone. I don't recommend applying this product once your makeup is set as it does clog and won't blend over powder so that's why I start off with more.

PROS
-incredible coverage and durability.
-lasts literally all day with no melting off even around the nose.
-can wear sunglasses and it doesn't even leave marks after taking them off.
-covers everything from freckles, moles, redness, dark circles.
-has a matte finish so appears quite natural and doesn't require powder finish.
-smells nice :)
-discounted price on Strawberrynet making it affordable ($50 on SN, retail price in Australia is $68)
-The colour Fresco and Desert Beige are a very near match to my old MAC studio fix NW20/NC25.
CONS
-very heavy and thick for those who like light, natural makeup.
-has caused a slight pimple breakout (i am not usually prone to acne).
-if not rubbed in straight away, dries quickly leaving lines.
-limited range of colours.
-a little pricey
-i use this everyday and the bottle (30ml) does not last as long as i hoped it would.
TIPS
-make sure all makeup from the night before is completely rubbed off before use.
-need to use moisturizer to avoid liquid drying too quickly thus causing cracks and lines.
-use a makeup brush to put on evenly, do not use fingers for this one.
-i have read reviews saying that you can use a MAC pump on the bottle, am yet to try this myself.
-put entire face on all at once and very quickly, if you let any part of your face dry and then apply more, it will definitely leave lines.
Overall, it's coverage and durability is too good to stop using despite the slight pimple breakup. By far the best foundation I have ever used.
Hope that helps :)

Turned to Doublewear as a result of breaking out due to what I though was my foundation at the time. After reading up on 'heavy coverage' foundations, I concluded that Estee Lauder was definitely worth trying. I have been extremely disappointed! Firstly, the representative in Debenhams 'colour-matched' me to a shade that appeared extremely dark for my very fair skin (Desert Beige for a Mac NC15 user?!). Upon questioning the match I was assured that it was right and she put it down to the lighting in store. Of course the lighting at home proved no different to the point where I can only actually wear this foundation if I have layers of fake tan on... I also find this to be very heavy and mask-like when on the skin. It dries so quickly that you have to be really fast with application otherwise it looks patchy and awful. It settled in my dry skin areas and formed into creases and cracks by the end of the day, I would definitely not recommend it for anyone with dry skin. The only positive is that it does provide high coverage and concealed all of my blemishes.
