It Contains Bismuth Oxychloride which may cause irritant to skin. it made my skin super itchy, red and extremely dry. the worst part is the cystic acne it caused on my cheek. I am glad I stopped using it immediately. Really shocked to find out how bismuth oxychloride irritates your skin. stay away from this ingredient if you have sensitive skin!

I've been using Bare Minerals for about five years now. This is the best makeup ever invented! It's sheer but gives the skin a lovely finish. I use Well Rested to cover my problem dark eyes and I use Summer Bisque to make any age spots literally disappear. The trick with Bare Minerals is to use the proper brush for the job. For concealing use a special concealer that helps to deposit just the right amount to cover imperfections right where needed. Then use a lighter application with a face brush for the regular or matte makeup and a blush brush for the blush and the Mineral Veil. I am 62 years old and have dry skin and live in a very dry climate, but this makeup is just perfect despite being a dry product, I literally look like I have no makeup on but have a naturally clean clear beautiful complexion. I will use Bare Escentuals forever! It's awesome. My problem, if you can call it that, is that I bought a ton of eye shadows which I find I tend to not bother with wearing any more now that I am a bit older. You have to be very light with application of the eye shadows so that it doesn't drop onto your face. Also, I find that using Bare Minerals wet for eyeliner is very unsatisfactory, as when it dries it will flake off and land on other areas of your face, not good! But I rarely use eye shadow and liner any more anyway. I like a more natural look these days.

This is not the company it was 20 years ago, this stuff is AWFUL. Bare minerals is awesome at only one thing: Advertising. If you have dry skin. STAY AWAY. It will sit on top of your face and stick to any dry places. If you have acne prone skin, STAY AWAY. This will actually stick to the dry areas around your acne and enhance it! There is absolutely nothing great about bare minerals, the hype on this product is that it is 'natural'. Know what else is natural? Arsenic. Lead. Mercury. Dog shit. The main mineral ingredient is called bismuth oxychloride, which is a skin irritant! This is also made with talc, which is known to clog pores. Mineral foundation is not anything revolutionary. It's a product of great advertising and marketing. People thing they are doing something healthy for their skin by buying it. Mineral foundation is nothinthan a loose or pressed powder.

Did nothing for me. The powders have no coverage. The concealer didn't conceal. The color closes to my skin tone didn't match very well. Anything but flawless. The Finishing Veil looked very powdery and white.

these powders are so sheer that they cover nothing! I can pull off multiple shades bc they're so "translucent". you can "swirl, buff, and tap" all you want, but you would have to apply layers and layers to build up even a little bit of coverage, and by then it looks powdery.I understand that they claim "sheer to medium buildable coverage" but the coverage is literally zero. it's not even sheeranyone who is a professional in the beauty industry knows to stay away from these powders.the ingredients have been known to break out people and cause cystic acne.it is not a good value for the money you pay and the little amount of product you get. this foundation got popular when there was a huge mineral makeup phase and since this is the largest brand, it stuck.not all powder foundations give practically no coverage, there are lots of other powder foundations that actually workI enjoy bare minerals moxie and buxom glosses but that's about it for the whole brand.

I also saw the infomercials and loved what I saw. That was more than ten years ago though - I got the products and absolutely adored them. I was amazed at what it did for my face. Then I kinda got out of wearing much makeup for years - had kids, changed jobs, life got in the way. Recently I ordered it again and was so excited to start wearing it again. Totally different now! It's true, I was 27 when I tried it first and now I'm 40, but my skin hasn't changed THAT much. I talked to a Sephora SA who told me the company has been sold and the products have changed. It definitely seems that way to me.So I'm sad I can't recommend this anymore. It was a great concept and product way back when, but now I'm back to liquid foundation which is much better for me.

I remember watching the seductive Bare Minerals Infomercials when I was in college and I thought wow, this sounds like something every single woman would want to buy! The answer to virtually every skin problem out there- enlarged pores, redness, acne, wrinkles, dull skin... and mineral makeup is supposed to be soo darn good for you, you can even sleep in it. It even makes claims that your skin will improve and look flawless over time! Sounds like a miracle product. I honestly thought then I would be a Bare Minerals Girl. When I finally got my hands on Bare Minerals powder mineral foundation, all these flawless "afters" came to my mind. I couldn't wait to cover up every flaw I had and deceive people into thinking I had flawless skin! I followed the EXACT steps- put a TINY amount of powder in to the lid, swirl, tap, and buff buff buff (the more buffing the better) and adding more for more coverage. I looked at my "finished" face and I was the most disappointed person ever...all it did was make me look like I was wearing powder, and I looked so DULL!! It looked like I put a DOLLAR store powder all over my face- my pores were emphasized and i looked so tired! I thought, it must be my fault. The next day I did the same steps, (using ONLY a TINY amount at a time) and still...same, chalky, tired, dull look......I don't know why I couldn't achieve that flawless looking skin that I saw on the infomercials. This is such a crappy product in my opinion because I look A LOT better without any makeup on than with it. (Which is sad because usually any makeup on skin makes it look better!) Hate this stuff. I'm glad I returned it and exchanged for a great BB cream.

I, like most everyone else who has tried Bare Minerals, was introduced to this company through countless infomercials about the great wonders of their system and how it can 1) cover anything you want and 2) how amazing it is for your skin. Well, to start out positive I did like the initial finish and coverage the foundation gave me (just so everyone knows I'm not interested in FULL coverage, I don't even wear makeup except on special occasions, I just want makeup that will fade the acne scarring i have and give me a more even look). After applied my skin looked exactly as I wanted it to, which is why what I'm about to say is so so sad.I can not expose my skin to this makeup again because, if anything, I thought this would actually help clear up my acne-prone skin a little but it broke me out SIGNIFICANTLY. I didn't get cystic acne like other people have (but then again I've never had cystic acne) but my skin had actually just cleared up a lot because I overhauled my whole skincare routine for natural products but this makeup messed up my skin. The first time I wore it I only wore it for 2-3 hours at the end of the day and I got one or two new breakouts. The second time I wore it about half the day (5-6 hours) and got about three new breakouts. The third time I used it (and last time I'll ever use it) I put it on before work (and I just work at a desk in an office...) and by the end of the day I had about four really obvious new breakouts and then after I took it off I saw all these tiny bumps all over my chin with a couple on my cheek and forehead. The next day I woke up and those little bumps were full-on zits. I easily had 10+ breakouts on my face that had not been there before applying this makeup in the morning.Aside from how upset I am that I inflicted this makeup on my skin, by the end of the day the makeup just looked TERRIBLE. My pores, which have gotten so small and nice since switching my skin routine, were really emphasized and looked huge! There was also an unappealing 'shine' that was on my skin, it looked like there was glitter on my face or something because it did NOT look like typical end-of-the-day oil build-up. My skin looks FAR better without this makeup. Also, I bought the BB SPF primer (which I actually do like but haven't tried on it's own so idk if I would breakout just wearing that, and from my experience I do not want to try and see) and the bearskin finishing veil with it so I don't think the problem was not preparing my skin for the foundation or not locking it in with powder. I feel bad because the girl who sold it to me was soo nice and thoughtful and I left there feeling like I had made a great choice with a lot of help from her, but I'm going into the boutique today to try and get my money back because I'll be damned it I spent $60+ to have this company mess up my skin. If you have sensitive, acne-prone skin I wouldn't risk it on this makeup working—go spend your money on a more natural mineral makeup without hidden agendas (which is what I'm going to do—I'm thinking of trying Mineral Hygienics next).

I love this brand and their innovative products. My skin is very sensitive to break outs and I have an oily skin type. Mineral makeup works best for me. I have tried other brands and I do love Meow foundation as well but I always go back to BM because of the convince of picking it up at my local store. They also keep me interested with all the new products they come out with. The makeup itself never causes me break outs and has helped clear my skin. It is the only makeup that will last on my oily skin and actually look better as the day goes on. My favorite is still the Original foundation as it gives the most natural finish. I switch to the Matte when the temps go above 85 or 90 degrees. I also use the Ready when I'm short on time and need quick full coverage.
