i agree with the other reviewers who say this is not especially "replenishing". my skin is on the dry side, but not super dry- most of the time i need to moisturize daily, but once a day is enough. this lotion has a nice texture, but it doesn't keep my skin moisturized for an entire day. for the price, i won't rebuy, but if someone gave it to me, i wouldn't mind :)

It's a moisturizer and it smells like aveda. I like aveda, so I buy this moisturizer. I use it on my legs, it works ok. I like that its a cream consistency coming out of the tube rather than runny like some lotions. It doesn't moisturizer a whole lot, but it smells like aveda and it's better than drug store alternatives at least.

Considering both the name and high price of this lotion, I expected it to be a better product. I find that after using it, it becomes almost a "dry" lotion and is not very emollient. Maybe that is what Aveda designed it to do, but for me, I like a thick, emollient lotion, especially when it's called a "replenishing body moisturizer." Not a fan, and will not repurchase. One positive note is that, like all Aveda products, it has a wonderful scent!

This is the only body lotion I've ever wanted to use. I can't stand heavy greasy creams on my hands or body. This is light and refreshing and absorbs fast. I buy a small tube which I keep in my bag to use as handcream. I absolutely love the smell and it keeps my skin soft. As others have said probably not the best for really dry skin. But I LOVE it.

I asked for a light moisturizor and this was recommended. I'm very happy with it. Soaks in quickly, has a light scent that is not offensive, and leaves my skin very soft but not oily. I have oily skin naturally so I didn't want something heavy and this fits the bill. If you need heavy moisture for your skin this is not the product you want. Try one of their more intensive treatments. If you just want something to keep otherwise good skin supple then this is for you.

I got this unscented and they added the scent of my choice. I loved that part and I loved the scent I chose which was lovely and strong in the finished article. Unfortunately I didn't love the lotion which I found too thin and it just sat on top of my skin without sinking in. I wouldn't mind so much if it was cheap but it isn't.

Aveda Replenishing Body Lotion is a nice, decent lotion with a pretty lavender scent. It is rather nice for skin not in need of extreme moisturizing: it does its job well but not exceptionally so. Its effects were true for hours, and there is a nice array of botanical ingredients here, as there is with all Aveda products. I would consider purchasing this again if I needed something to tide me over between products in my search for the ultimate moisturizing body cream. Worth the money, but for ladies with drier skin and who may be on a budget (and are also not picky about the way their moisturizer smells), I suggest Aveeno. However, this is a good product if scent is important to you, you don't mind its being a bit more spendy, and if you don't have horribly dry skin. Good, solid product.

It seems like some people really love this lotion, and I wanted to like it but I found it very average.
It does smell lovely, but I'm not convinced it moisturises very successfully - it really doesn't seem to have much effect. And, it certainly doesn't do a better than many bog-standard much cheaper lotions I've tried.
I shan't waste my money buying this again.
EDIT: After using this a couple of weeks it seems to be responsible for some scaly dry patches on my arms - I must be allergic. It's going in the bin. A very expensive waste of money.

I have been using this body moisturizer for about 4 years now, and no other moisturizer has compared for me. Because of the price, I have often tried to find something less expensive, but my skin is so sensitive and prone to breaking out that I just have to stick with what works.
I love the light application of the lotion; it absorbs quickly and has a nice gentle scent (if you like Aveda scents, anyway). It makes my skin ultra-soft with a nice sheen and isn't greasy. It also soothes my skin when dry patches occur.
I highly recommend this product to someone with sensitive, combination-type skin who needs a light body moisturizer.

This is okay in my opinion. Nice gentle fragrance, absorbs well and not greasy, but nothing to write home about especially considering it's high price. I've found health food store lotions (derma e, alba, kiss my face) just as good at a fraction of the price. I like some of Aveda's products but what bugs me is that their representation (in the form of employees) think that natural is not synonymous with chemical. A girl actually told me that they didn't have hand cream with spf b/c that would be a chemical and all Aveda products were "natural". What does she think water is??? H20...a friggin' chemical! News flash....all things, plants, plant extracts, etc. are composed of chemicals...they should really train their personnel better.

This is a good lightweight moisturiser but completely NOT worth the price. I love the way this smells, but can't for the life of me determine why it is so expensive for being so basic and not very lasting. There is nothing special or extraordinary about this that justifies paying $22 for 8.5oz. I was lucky to get this as a gift, but would definitely not repurchase at that price!

The consistency is more on the runny and light side but, to my surprise, moisturizes better than a lot other lotions I've tried. It's got meadowfoam and sinks in fast without greasy feeling, leaves the skin soft and conditioned. The fragrance is a very typical "Aveda scent", smells pure, natural, therapeutic, and relaxing, with a hint of lavendar.

I bought this as a gift for my mom-in-law a couple years ago. She's a lotion/bath gear junkie, but is very particular about fragrances. She loves the Aveda Bath Therapy, and since the fragrances are similar, I thought she'd like the lotion. Indeed, the fragrance is wonderful, but it just did nothing for our dry skin. So she hasn't been using it, and I borrowed a bit again when I visited this weekend - I figured that I may as well use it up. MAN DID IT STINK! I had to bath again to get it off my skin - the scent clearly doesn't last. Therefore, if you buy it, don't "save it for special" - use it up before the fragrance turns rancid.

Kia Ora from NEW ZEALAND!
This is the best body lotion I've ever used. It always makes me feel like I'm really worthy of the luxury - definitely an amazing treat!
It's just a huge pity it (and lots of other great aveda stuff) is not available from StrawberryNET.

I was skeptical of this product at first but used on my (rather dry) face one night and it stayed fresh and supple for the whole day after that. (Not a huge fan of the smell though.) Definitely rec.

I wanted to like this, particularly because I really like Hand Relief and thought it would be similar. However, something about this lotion makes it ball up on my skin. It looks like I rubbed Elmer's Glue all over my legs - little white balls of product everywhere! Besides that, I don't like the scent or the sticky consistency. I will not repurchase.

I swim 6 days a week and the chlorine is extremely harsh on my skin. After using Eucerin for quite awhile with little success on my dry skin (though Eucerin is good for excema), I decided to give this a try. It's now my holy grail...it's light, creamy, sinks in quickly, and smells wonderful. Though it's pricy, it's worth every penny spent.

An avid fan of Aveda's products, particularly the "pure-fume," I happened upon this. Gorgeous smell, as always. Unfortunately, does not moisturize well - at least for my winter-dry skin. Probably more appropriate for summer months. Prefer l'occitane's shea butter cream presently.

I really adore this body lotion. It hydrates extremely well though without being heavy in texture or consistency. It sinks in very quickly and the hydration lasts all day. I often even use this as an overnight hand cream and the results are fantastic. Love the signature Aveda mossy/plant essence scent as well.

I really love this body lotion. You can find cheaper products that have the same effect, but none that smell so lovely or feel so delicious on the skin. I bought this when I was travelling and had dry, flaky itchy skin that nothing would cure. After one night of using this my skin was cured! As an added bonus, when I put this on before I go to sleep, I find that the smell really soothes me. I only buy this when I want to indulge myself but I do love it!
