Holiday Red really is the best red on the market, it is a true crimson. Looks beautiful with alabaster skin. The smell of dior lipstick really does take me back to fun times, I wore Holiday red by Dior and my best friend wore Meteor red by Chanel (scarlet rather than crimson). Dior won hands down lol

This is a beautiful and true red that goes on evenly and doesn't bleed. To me it's a ruby red and a natural looking red that blends with my skintone so beautifully that it looks like if my lips themselves are that color....It goes on so smoothly that my lips don't look coated. Because of this, I can wear it in the daytime without feeling like I'm painted. It is one of the few reds that I can wear at night and in the daytime. Holiday Red is very red and very beautiful! It's discontinued and hard to find, so if you ever see it, don't pass it up. This color looks good on everybody.

I have not tried this lipstick yet myself, but thought you may be interested by the reference to this lipstick made in an interview with Siouxsie Sioux:
"Who, in your educated opinion, makes the very best blue red/blood red lipstick? And do you think you're better off with a drugstore or a department store brand?
Blue blood is perfect but if you can’t prick a royal, mix it yourself from leftover bits of red lipstick and shades of blues and purples (like a painters palette) or failing that Christian Dior’s ‘red holiday’, wherever you can get it or on your next Xmas list to Santa!"

This is one of Dior's classic reds- and nobody does red lipstick like Dior!
Holiday Red is a very true blue red, elegant and very sophisticated. The texture is wonderfully silky as with all Dior lipsticks, and it goes on evenly and doesn't bleed. A definite winner. continued >>

You are going to pay ladies for this treat. Lilac smell and great flavor. The shade is pure unadulterated RED. I love it, it is my favorite red. I love the consistancy and the case is luxury. I like Dior and will chose it over Chanel when it comes to lipsticks. It is luxury you cannot afford to pass up.

I used this lipstick a lot about 15 years ago (or maybe a couple years before that too). Then, a couple of years ago, for a treat I decided to make myself a "Nostalgia Basket" complete with Holiday Red Lipstick, Liner, and Nail Polish (plus other goodies like Cello Shampoo, Rainbath, INXS Kick, Madonna Immaculate Collection) Anyway, aside from the fact that I love this color when I'm in the mood for a lighter red, when I used it with the matching Dior lipliner, this lipstick really lasted pretty good on me! The only drawback for me is it's expensive. But otherwise a very good product. And pretty packaging!
