This is now a staple in my regimen for many reasons. As background, I cannot use harsh acne stuff anymore as I did in teens and early twenties years. It just dries out my skin to the point of wrinkles, discoloration, flakes, etc... Also, I had used differin for years and had nearly perfect skin, all I had to do was wash once a day and apply and not even think about my skin. Then I lost insurance and my skin broke out badly. I have tried millions of things from ulta, sephora, cvs... with little success. Since differin worked so well for me and is a retinoid, I decided perhaps I should try retinol products. I believe Neutrogena is a reliable company, a lot of skin research comes from their labs and their products are rigorously tested for efficacy. I chose this product from their whole line of "healthy skin" products because I wanted the salicylic acid and retinol, but I have read that SA decreases the effectiveness of retinol so I supplement with a more potent retinol every other night (trying poetry in lotion now, loving it so far but too soon to review). This Neutrogena clear skin cream stuff feels amazing going on! It is so moisturizing but not oily or gross at all. I have tried Neutrogena's 3in1 Hydrating acne stuff also, but it is just too drying for my skin, I use it as a spot treatment now. The clear skin cream is awesome though! It hasn't cleared away my acne completely [yet] but I believe it is helping and definitely isn't causing harsh side effects that I feel can be worse than acne itself. I also really like the smell of it. I've been using it for a month but I experiment with too many new products sometimes and haven't given this alone a fair shot. I am simplifying my routine to make this a staple and will definitely update in another month's time. Here's wishing you all the beauty you seek...

Wonderful! Plumps skin noticeably within 3 days and keeps it clear. It even got rid of my millia under my eyes! AND then.............it quit working. Acne ended up far worse in the long haul. What a bummer.

I have been looking for an anti-aging cream for a long time now. This I believe will be my holy grail. Its a very mild retinol and salicylic acid treatment that works.
My skin at first dried out, looked old and wrinkled. Then after four weeks of use, the dryness and peeling paid off and I was left with beautiful smooth skin. My skin is glowing. I look about 5 years younger. My wrinkles and parentheses lines are not as deep although they still are present.
I have combination skin that is on the oily side with dry cheeks. I get pimples and they leave very dark marks. After I started using the formula with the salicylic acid, my pimples stopped and I still got to enjoy the benefits of retinol. It has not been effective in lightening my acne scars though.
Other night creams have always beeen too heavy for me and tend to break me out. I love how it smells too.
I have tried Olay, (broke me out, works by temporary filling your lines with silicones) I tried a glycolic acid cream (alpha hydroxy acid AHA cream) and it broke me out badly. My skin was too sensitive for those.
My only regret is that I didn't try this sooner.

Well, I've been using this for a little over 2 weeks(morning and night). I love that it's light and absorbs well. It doesn't leave my face feeling greasy at all. It leaves a matte finish which is perfect. I'm giving it a four because I have not seen drastic improvement in my dark spots. I hope to see a better improvement after a month of usage. However I can say that I LOVE the way this feels on my face and I haven't had any negative reactions to it so far! I use this along with Olay's Total effects anti aging, anti blemish cream cleanser and I've seen a GREAT reduction in breakouts!
UPDATE: Ok, so i started to notice stinging, redness and extreme dryness. I have stopped using this for now. I believe it is the retinol and the fact that I also use a salicylic acid face wash. I'm going to give my skin a break off this..I may decide to use it again but not as often. Maybe once every other day.

I've tried many other moisturizers, but I always come back to this. Does exactly what it says, and at reasonable cost. Makes my skin look smoother and fresher, and keeps the zits away. My skin has always been oily, and although I'm now in my (very) late 40s, I still have breakouts if I'm not vigilant. This takes care of them before they start. The cream's light fresh scent is an extra bonus.

this moisturiser is the only one that i have used as of yet (and i have tried many brands) that has been able to totally keep my acne under control. I used to have a few acne pop up on a daily basis and those are the large ones, but nowadays after using this i would perhaps have a small acne once every week and i'm extremely grateful for this product! hopefully it would be able to remove my acne scarring.
The only slight problem i experience with this is that its very difficult to squeeze the product out when your half way through using the moisturiser. Other than this, this product is GREAT, i hope drugstore will continue to store it, since its one of the few places that i can find it.

I live in Wisconsin, and we experience all weather conditions here. Once the weather started to warm up, my skin became very oily. I have normal skin and it is somewhat dry in winter and oil in summer. After reading a very helpful article in Allure about preventing oily skin in warm weather, I wound up purchasing several products for this season. Regardless if you are acne prone or not, you should wash with a 2% salicylic acid and follow with anti blemish creams containing zinc or SD alcohol. Morning and night, I wash with Oil of Olay Anti Blemish Face Wash, tone with Boots Organic Rosewater Toner (women have been using rose petals as toner since ancient times, and it is wonderful), and Biore Anti Blemish SPF 30 moisturizer in the morning, or Neutrogena's Anti Wrinkle Anti Blemish Cream at night, with Roc's Anti Wrinkle Eye Creme morning and night.
This is a great combo for oily summer skin prevention. I really like all of the benefits this cream has to offer. For those reviewers who are having problems with dry skin, maybe they shouldn't be using this product, or they need to take stock in what else they are putting on their face and the climate they are in, as warm and cool weather will have a dramatically different affect on skin, as well as what other products containing lactic acid or salicylic acid.
This product is HG material, if used with the correct products and on the right skin. If you're looking for something that helps you wake up without an oil slick on your face, and you're also interested in improving your skin's clarity and aging, this is THE product.

This was a replacement since the Olay Total Effects Moisturizer Anti-Blemish has been discontinued. I have used it about 3 weeks so far
Pro:
Seems to stop breakouts
Over seems to help plump up skin
Good job as moisturizer
Con:
Some small breakout, 1
No SPF, Total Effects had SPF 15 included
Grossly over packaged, little tube - big box

Big fan of this! I usually have pretty clear skin, but since moving from Florida (humid) to Arizona (desert) last summer, my skin is prone to minor breakouts on my forehead. I actually use the Olay Pro X line and then use a teeny little dab of this on my forehead. Keeps my skin under control without over-drying. I like that the % of sal. acid is small so it doesn't over try. I think I will be a long-time user of this!!

This is HG status in my book! I bought it because I continue to have problems with acne, yet I also want to prevent future wrinkles from arriving on my face prematurely. Well, it absolutley helps clear up acne with no stinging or drying out my face (however, my face is used to retinol products). It also seems to help with fading old acne scars. I use this at night, but it also works well under make-up. It's a little pricy for a small tube (the bigger box is very deceiving), but it does last a lot longer than I thought. I'm already on my second tube, and I will continue to repurchase.

Does anyone know if this has been discontinued? I used to be addicted to this moisturizer a few years ago, but strayed away as I started experimenting with department store moisturizers... Bobbi, Dior, Laura Mercier, Lancome, even my beloved Philosophy. Then a couple of months ago a friend gave me her tube she wasn't using anymore... and I fell back into hardcore addiction. But... now I can't find it anywhere.
I am 32, and suffer from moderate adult acne on a daily basis. I wear this moisturizer over my all-over acne treatment (Murad Exfoliating Acne Gel... HG!), and then shovel on the foundation and concealers to desperately cover all my scarring and imperfections. With all the other moisturizers I've used (see above), any surfacing blemish would inevitably inflame and double in size by the end of the day.
Ahhhh but not so with my old faithful Neutrogena! This moisturizer helps to keep everything balanced and calm on my face all day long. It absorbs well, has a light, clean fragrance, and isn't at all greasy like some other retinol-enhanced moisturizers I've used. As far as the anti-wrinkle agents, I haven't noticed a significant amount of change, however with the amount of stress my job brings me, I'll let ya know in 6 months if I look like I moved to a secluded island... if I can find a damn tube anywhere! :)
For the price that's easily half (or more) of what I would pay for any of the department store moisturizers, the quality of this product is an exceptional value. Now I just need to find you, old friend.....

This can really dry your skin out if you don't use moisturizer after applying this. When you use this with a moisturizer, I think this works really well. I'm young, so I don't exactly need this for wrinkles, but I have lines on my forehead (i don't know why). I can see that my skin looks smoother the next morning. It doesn't smell good, I believe it smells like sulfur. It is a product worth trying out! Just use a pea-size every other night with moisturizer afterwards!

I love this cream! I started using it about six years ago and fell in love when I wanted to combat any first signs of aging and my acne. This was the only cream I could use for years that did not break me out and actually helped my acne clear up. This never clogged my pores and until I started heading into my mid to late 20's and had drier skin this moisturized me like a dream as well. I also felt good about the product having retinol in it. Last year however, I started having trouble finding this product and have since had to switch to a different creams and lotions. I knew I had to seach for a real moisturizer eventually since as I age my skin gets drier but I really sish I could still find this product because I now have to purchase not only acne cream but anti-aging and moisturizer as well so now my skin regimin has not only increased in length but price as well......sigh....

I love this product! I have been a faithful user for a bit over 5 years and am beyond satisfied with my experience. I have the most aggravating skin and this lotion has kept it calm, smooth and unblemished all while warding off wrinkles with retinol. The times i have run out and been without a ready backup supply i have noticed the difference in skin clarity and texture within a night or so. Blemishes pop up immediately. This is truly one of those rare miracle products.
*note*
as this lotion has retinol and no SPF, do yourself a favor and only wear it to bed at night. :)

I have only applied this twice, once last night and once this morning and I am already seeing unbelievable results....nothing as far as wrinkles are concerned, although that isn't a major issue for me....but this cream seems to have calmed my skin, lessened some redness, and almost completely dried up some potentially disastrous zits all over night. I'm sure this cream is not a miracle solution, but my goodness....if these are the results I'm having after only one use, I can't wait to see more ;) will update in a couple weeks!!

Great product if you're in that in-between stage where you still break out but you're also getting fine lines. Can be a little drying in winter. Unfortunately, it's getting hard to find this cream in stores - I had to order it online.

I think the product overall is very good - I have noticed that my acne scars are fading and my skin is soft and smooth - I use this at night under my night cream - I have sensitive skin and it does not burn my skin when I put it on after washing like most acne products do. Still looking for the fine lines on my forehead to go away.

I bought this because of all the great reviews I'd read. I've only been using it for a week, so I'm not so sure about the results yet. My face hasn't broken out from using it, nor have I had any new bumps pop up. What few bumps I had are going away. As a moisturizer it is absolutely amazing. It does not take much at all. This stuff is going to last me forever. It blends into my skin so well. Sometimes it seems like it makes my face just a tad bit greasy. But it's not bad. I love this product so far! I will continue to keep buying this. So, I have faith that with a few more weeks of using, I will notice a major change in the way my skin looks and feels. .

I, like many, had high hopes for this product. Unfortunately, i think this moisturizer sucks. It does make my skin more even toned but the way the cream feels and looks is very greasy. and of course the greasy stuff made my face greasy and gross.=( I'm not really sure if this did anything for my acne either. ugh waste of 13 bucks.

This is a fantastic product. For the price, you're getting some excellent ingredients that are great for anti-aging. Since using this product, I've noticed a more clear, even tone to my skin. It seems to exude more radiance and clarity than it ever has before. The texture of my skin is so smooth and soft!
The price is reasonable, it has a nice subtle fragrance, and a little goes a long way.
I'll definitely be repurchasing this!
