This cleanser is way to drying and way to expensive to marketing it as anything better than a drugstore cleanser. Neutrogena sells a similar cleanser at a fraction of the price. Besides, as someone who suffered from severe acne, this does not relieve cystic acne in the least so it is a huge waste of money.
Too expensive for a cleanser. Cleanse very well though.
I absolutely love this product. I started using this when I got a free deluxe sample on an order on sephora.com. At first I thought that it wasn't for me because I didn't have acne skin and it sat on my bathroom table for about 2 weeks. I got a pimple so I decided to try it and see if it was a good product or not. I must say I was very pleased. It cleansed my face so well without over drying and it treated my rosacea. This was on summer time and my rosacea gets very heavy during the summer. I guess is the salicylic acid that did the trick. I use it everyday for my rosacea and haven't seen red spots on my face since then. YES, I will keep purchasing it because after 3 deluxe samples I just got my full size bottle.
Best acne cleanser i have ever used. groups of acne that I've had on my forehead consistently for months.. even years have almost cleared up now, it's not even been two weeks of use yet. not drying in the slightest. in fact i can very easily skip moisturiser. i have nothing bad to say about this product at all. oh just one thing maybe the menthol irritates my eyes slightly. but nothing else :)
So I started to use this product almost two months ago. I have been an avid Dermalogica user and my skin just was not looking to good. So I decided to switch it up and this line was recommended.
When I first used it, it freaked me out since it has a slight cooling methanol sensation and I have never used a face wash with that feeling before. It does not leave a residue behind and makes my skin feel clean without the tight/dry feeling. It is not too expensive but it is up in the middle range. But for the size of the bottle it is a good price, it is only $26.
Also I have back acne and this stuff cleared it right up and also it has made my scars a little less red. I just put some on a sea sponge and scrub my upper body and it feels so nice. I do not use it on my whole body since my legs are very sensitive and get hives easily if irritated.
Now I would not say that this is a God send face wash or an HG because I still have some break outs here and there. But it is a good face wash for the price overall and I think I will repurchase it.
Another thing! I heard that if you are allergic to sulfa then it might cause a reaction. I asked my dermatologist and he said 'wrong'. Sulfer and sulfa are two different things so you should not have an allergic reaction. If you do break out then it might just be your skin saying 'no I do not like this product'
I have acne-prone skin, especially in the T-zone area. I purchased this product to hopefully be my daily cleanser to keep these things under control. No dice. Despite the hype and the high price, this product didn't clear my skin better than any other product that I have tried. In fact, I think it had a little less drying horsepower than other cheaper products that I have used. I also did not like the gel texture. My bottle was really viscous, almost like jello. I definitely prefer a more solid texture, or even a scrub. I imagine that this might be a good choice for someone looking to clear up occassional problems, but not for someone like myself that has been fighting off acne for 20 years now.
I bought the cleaners from ulta, just to try it out, and I must say I was disappointed. I used it daily at first to see if it would have any effect, but after almost two months, there was no difference in my skin. At times, it seemed like the cleaners irritated it even more.
I really like this cleanser, however, I can only use it once a day (I use it at night with my Clarisonic) because my face was starting to dry out when I used it twice a day. It does a good job cleansing the skin and I did notice the number of breakouts decreasing as I used this. I didn't have to use much to get a decent lather (maybe a nickel size amount), so it lasted a good amount of time which makes it seem like a good deal to me. I would definitely repurchase this, although it may be awhile before I do because I like trying new products.
I used this cleanser for 7 weeks this past summer and was very happy with it. I was in a very humid environment in SE Asia and it was great at keeping pimples at bay in a very humid environment. My skin is oily-combination with the oiliness mostly in the summer so I don't this would be a good cleanser in the winter months for someone who didn't have oily skin. It would be probably really drying. I would definitely use this again as a summer time cleanser or when my skin gets out of control. It also lasts a really long time. I had a 2 oz container that I used for the both morning and night cleaning and it lasted for over six weeks.
I got this as a travel size free sample with a Sephora purchase. The first night I loved this produce. It cleared up some spots and redness I had from heat bumps overnight. The second day I used this product twice, no issues, it actually stopped a white head that was forming in its tracks, the zit never formed. The third day I woke up with my left eye swollen, I disregarded the swelling since I had the beginning of a stye earlier in the week (one day of hot compresses knocked it out 4 days before using this cleanser). Got ready to go out of town and used the cleanser. Went out of town with my boyfriend and as I was getting fixed up to go to a concert he thought I should use Benadryl cream on my eye, so I did. By the end of the night both eyes were swollen and bright red, they were also itchy, dry, the skin is burning (with everything even water or tears), and feel like my skin is peeling off. As I'm taking a shower before bed and washing my face with the cleanser, it hits me: the only new part of my routine is Murad Clarifying Skin Cleanser. I am having a full blown allergic reaction to this product. By morning not only are both eyes as described above, my whole face is dry, itchy, red, burning, and peeling. I look like I just got out of a burn unit and am using Benadryl cream as a moisturizer. Everything hurts, it hurts me to smile, frown, laugh, and kills me to cry, so my eye is watering uncontrollably of course (probably because it hurts to blink). I hope I can get this reaction reversed quickly considering I'm having surgery in 36 hrs and am not sure I can convince them not to tape my eyes closed without ripping my skin off, possibly causing scaring to my face!!
