I bought the whole set of this brand after hearing how good it is for acne prone skin. the normal/oily kit: Special Cleansing Gel (1.7 oz), Multi-Active Toner (1.7 oz), Active Moist (0.75 oz), Skin Prep Scrub (0.75 oz), Total Eye Care (0.1 oz), Skin Refining Masque (sample), PreCleanse (sample)
I did not dare to try the sample!
Dear God, I really wanna go back to the counter and ask for my money back.
After 2 weeks diligently followed this regiment, I got a full blow acnes. Not the usual type I already had, the type that my doctor said due to cosmetic allergy which means they come in thousand all over your face!! I tried to convince myself it would work after sometime, stupid me, all the sign were there: peeling off skin, redness, pore look like wrinkles....I took me a whole month with doctor treatment to recover.
This is so far the worst product I ever use. The whole set of it.
Better stay away, girls!

Lovely! I've been using this for a few years,

Calming on the skin with no harsh smell. One spray over the face is fine. Then pat it over the face with my fingers.

Quite expensive for a toner.

When I first used this toner I sprayed it directly on my skin. The result was itching, irritation and redness. I switched to Dermalogica all at once for all of my products so it took me a couple of days to figure out which one was the culprit. However since then I use a cotton pad to spray on first, and that works fine.

I can't say this is an exceptionable toner - it's just OK. The reason I continue to use it, is I really like the other Dermalogica products and I think it's best to use at least all cleansing/toning products from one brand.

I joined makeupalley just to write a review on this product. I have tried so many different products over the years, some better than others but never before has my skin reacted so badly to a product. At first i thought i was breaking out as a result of switching products but over 5 weeks of using this, things were getting worse. The day after i stopped using this toner i could already see my skin clearing back up (it is now completely clear again). I gave the toner to my sister who has perfect skin and she hated it also. I would not recommend this product to anyone, there are so many better products out there. I'm now back to Clarins cleanser and toner (but i still love and use Dermilogica smoothing cream).

Oh my goodness this is probably my most raved about product ever. The toner is AMAZINGGG!!! :D It gets rid of all the access oil, residue, and makeup and it leaves your face feeling fresh and soft! It is more on the pricey side, but I think that its really worth the money and since it comes with a misting spray cap, it saves you product rather then pouring it out onto a cotton pad. I prefer to use this toner with a cotton pad instead of misting it on so that way, I'll be able to wipe away the dirt and oil. I love the scent of this toner and its also alchohol free, so its better for your skin! It smells VERY VERY good. I'm not sure how to describe the scent, but it smells awesome!!! LOVE THIS PRODUCT, and I recommend it to everyone who's looking for a awesome toner!!!

Multiactive toner is a non-irritating, alcohol free toner. It smells fresh and herbaceous. I actually love the fragrance.

What does multi active do? It smells good, and helps to get traces of cleanser and whatever the cleanser missed (especially around the hairline or jawline where I can get small spots if I do not thourghly cleanse those areas) off. I can be a bit on the combo-oily side and I do like taking a squirt or two of Multi Active in my hand, quickly mixing with a small amount of moisturizer, and applying the diluted product. I find that thinning out my creams and lotions helps a lot, especially if you are prone to clogged pores. You still get the benefits of your moisturizer but it is not too heavy. I like the spray bottle concept too!

Honestly, for a gentle toner, I am not sure it is worth the price. But it smells SO GOOD to me and since it seems to work well with my moisturizer, what the heck. This I consider a luxurious treat just because I like the product.

This felt a bit like spritzing liquid potpourri on my face, which surely can't be a good thing after every cleanse... I much more prefer for instance Avčne's thermal water, or La Roche Posay's for that matter, because this made me itch quite a bit and I wonder if it's due to some of the potentially skin irritating ingredients.. I'm sorry Dermalogica, but this product didn't work for me, although it was reccomended as part of a 'dry skin' routine.

I purchased this product after my BT used it on my skin and recommended it for my skin type (combination, dry cheeks, some shine on my t-zone on hotter months). After using it for a year, I can say it has kept my skin clear, I haven't suffered from any breakouts, it's so gentle on my skin and keeps it well hydrated. After using my Dermalogica special cleansing gel, I spray this on my face and it instantly feels hydrating. I wouldn't use this without a moisturiser as my skin will end up with a tight dry feeling. I have the largest size bottle and I am not even halfway through using it day and night, so the packaging is quite good.

I didnīt use toner in the past. I tried it with some cheaper drugstore brands and saw no sense in using a toner.
But my skin was in a very bad condition due to a harsh period of cold weather up to minus 20 degrees, so I decided to give it a try.
I recently tried some Dermalogica products and therefore, my chosen toner was from Demalogica.
Iīm sooo torn by this product and canīt decide, whether itīs fabulous or very bad.
This toner stings whenever I spray it on my skin. It burns, it stings, my skin gets red blotches. But only for about 5 to 10 minutes. After the toner dries on my skin, my skin goes back to normal and seems more hydrated, plump and moist. It doesnīt make any sense to me. I was shocked, when I used it the first time and was afraid it would ruin my already damaged skin for good.
I read other reviews and people with sensitive skin seem to have problems. However, I didnīt find the culprit in the list of ingredients. But I have several ingredients under suspicion: the ivy leaf extract or the arnica extract can be responsible for the irritation. These ingredients can cause irritation and allergies when they contact the skin.
I donīt know, if I would buy it again, because itīs expensive and I have to get through the ordeal of the odd feeling whenever I spray it on my skin. Maybe itīs because of the already bad condition my skin is in at the time. Or some of the plant extracts or even all of the plant extracts irritate my skin generally.
Another reviewer said, it only irritates her skin, when the skin is already sensitized by other factors.
I never use my moisturizer directly after putting the toner on my skin as other reviewers do, because for me, it works better when the toner dries on my skin and I put the moisturizer on afterwards.
My skin looks surprisingly good and I keep on using the toner. Maybe I can find out, if the toner is worth the stinging feeling.
Update 03/03/2012: I kept on using the toner and finally, my skin got over the irritation. The severe cold-weather period here in germany has ended and my skin got back to normal. And therefore, the toner doesnīt sting anymore on my skin. My skin looks beautiful and definitely has improved by being more hydrated. I gave it 4 lippies instead of 3 and would buy it again. But I wouldnīt doubt however, that when my skin is stressed by any factors like harsh cold weather or too much sun, the stinging and burning when using this product comes back!

This toner is great! I use it in the winter along with Active Moist to help my oily skin stay moisturized while removing oil -- I have skin that gets oily all over but also scaly in the winter (so like a weird variation of combination skin). This helps to lock in the moisture of Active Moist and makes my skin feel baby soft.

I was a little hesitant about the packaging at first but have decided I like it. I only need one or two spritzes and then I just sort of rub it around on my face. I doubt I will continue to use this in the summer, though, when I switch back to Oil Control Lotion (May - September), because I don't think my skin needs it. I have a trial size bottle now (I got it as a free gift with Active Moist) so I guess I will purchase the full size one for next winter/whenever I run out.
