Somebody earlier mentioned that Lancome must have removed the scent from this at some point. I'd have to agree. I'm the queen of being able to smell something even when a product claims to be scent-free. I can smell chemical in Clinique lipsticks, but this has no detectable odour whatsoever. No rose scent either.

This is my first-ever Lancome lipstick. On my lips, it looks identical in colour and texture to Clinique's "Berry Freeze". A nice warm red with undertones of bronze/orange. I apply just a skiff of it and then spread it with a lip brush to stain my lips, then put a clear gloss overtop.

I got this like most people as a gwp but i found that they sell these on ebay for cheap!! its the perfect everyday/anywhere color. its bold and pretty. I wear it with a natural eye, only nars albatros for the brow bone highlight. simple top e/l and mascara. fun and games on the cheeks.

I got this in a gwp so I have ugly packaging, therefore my review will just be about the product. Oh. My. God. This is the absolute perfect MLBB shade on me except with a red tint. I love how I can build up the intensity-- with one thin layer it just looks my lips with an extra oomph but with more it's a super sexy muted red. I love putting my red tinted lipgloss over this to really make the red come out and it's such a perfect color for all occasions! I will definitely repurchase this when the time comes because it's one of the most flattering lipsticks I've ever owned. My only qualm is that it isn't very moisturizing, but it's not supposed to be so that's fine.

I wear this lipstick every day. I love it. It's a neutral peachy brown in the tube, but because my lips have a lot of red pigment I get a reddish orange color from this product. It works with any color of blush, even pink, and is a no-brainer, especially with my olive skin. I plan on wearing this for years to come. It's turned out to be one of the best makeup purchases I've ever made. For those unfamiliar with this line, this is a creamy, full coverage lipstick that is almost matte but gives a little bit of shine and lasts practically all day, although you will have to reapply after eating. Highly recommended for everyone, except those with very fair skin.

This lipstick has a very nice color. It is a peachy red color with a bit of brown undertones. The texture of the lipstick is very creamy and still pigmented. I was very impressed with this lipstick. At first is settled into the lines of my lips and made my lips look more wrinkley but after a few minutes the lipstick settled and looks lovely. If you are a fan of lipstick check this out!

Oh wow, I received this in a gwp, and its the most beautiful metallic reddish shade thats very flattering on darker skintones. Its not maroon, or pink, but the perfect reddish pigment to pass for red. I highly recommend this but the sad thing is you cant find the shade anymore.

A very, very brilliant find if you are looking for a neutral-warm shade that will enhance what is already there. Sugared Maple is neither red, nor brown, but it is really a nice, full, dusky pout. The sheen enhances your lips size, while the pigment deepens your colouring, creating a very natural, earthy effect. No liner is needed, as the sheen fills in all lines.
I don't like brown lipsticks because they make teeth look yellow, and I am not longer big on bright red either because my NC 15 skin can't support it any more. This is a nice fit in between, yet difficult to describe! You must go and see it for yourself to see how lovely it truly is.
I am a lip gloss girl and now only own four lip sticks. This one is absolutely stunning and I adore it. It's very flattering to a fair and warm skin tone, wears well with different colours because it is subtle, yet powerful and medium in intensity. It gives a very polished, classy look. I pair it with dark, smoky eyes, or a clean, well made up look of warm browns on the eyes and peachy-blush. I can imagine it would also be lovely on darker women as well!
The texture is nice as well, smooth and seems to last. It feels like a quality lipstick, not like one of those awful, cheap long lasting formulas. I like that it doesn't chunk and glob as much as other lipsticks, leaving unsightly rims on drinking glasses. This is my "go to lipstick" for special occasions. It's camera friendly and lasts longer than a gloss, yet has a lovely sheen. For you older ladies, this does not highlight any lip lines at all and works very well with a simple nude liner.
All in all, a lovely little gem and will be repurchased.

I got this as a GWP and what a gorgeous muted red! It was included in the "warm" gift, but I agree with previous reviewers it is quite neutral and would work with most skin tones. On the back of my hand it's a soft red with copper tones, but on white paper it looks more reddish brown. I'm very fair-skinned (neutral-toned Mac NC/NW 15) and lipstick tends to look dramatic on me. Bright reds make me look clownish, but Sugared Maple is my "perfect red." And the subtle shimmer is just enough to prevent it looking "flat." For me it's definitely a bold look and I will use it mostly in the evening, but it would probably look more subtle on darker complexions and be a nice daytime shade. The texture is smooth and creamy, and I love that it has no scent or taste - unlike Lancome's earlier lipstick formulation (I've been buying Clinique lipsticks more often but I just might have to swich back). Also, I must say I am very impressed with Lancome's GWP lipsticks. As someone who has trouble finding lipstick that suits me, I've liked 4 out of the 6 GWP lipsticks I've received over the years (2 of the "warm" colors and 2 of the "cool" colors work well for me.) Lancome has regular bonus times with generous gifts, so go for it!

I really like this color although I am surprised to hear it referred to as red. I wonder if it just looks different on different skin tones or what? Anyway on me it is brown with pink mauvy tones. Its the perfect nude lipstick for me. In the tube it looks just brown but when it's on it has more of a pinkish tone. I think it will be great for Fall.

Rouge Absolu Creme in Sugared Maple is such a stellar color! I received it as a GWP and I think only used it once, until a couple of months ago. I threw it in my bag one day and have found it to be my favorite lipstick ever since. It's a great color - terrific day or night. And, it must be pretty neutral, because judging from the other reviewers it seems to work on all of us! Unfortunately mine broke and is difficult to use w/out a mess right now - but I am definately going to buy a new one!

This really is a stunning bronzed red tone with beautiful but subtle shimmer which can easily be worn during the day without looking overdone. I have gotten this several times as a GWP and am always thrilled to get reacquainted with it. It works on so many different skin tones that it makes sense that Lancome includes this as a GWP so often. Great color, great wearability, emollient. Would definitely purchase.

I got this as a GWP some time ago and since I was into peachy-pink glossy lips at the time, I set this aside in my stash and forgot about it. Nearly 2 years later I get into a red lips phase and pleasantly discover this lovely shade for the first time. Sugared Maple is gorgeous. A warm red with subtle pearl finish. This is my daytime red--red, but not in-your-face red. Texture is creamy yet light, holds the line well, wears evenly, leaves a slight stain and doesn't wear off immediately. Has that typical Frenchy lipstick perfumey scent/ taste, which strangely enough I kind of like. I think Lancome has already discontinued this shade in the formula I have, though I think they've made a Sugared Maple shade in the color design line--don't know if they're identical. Hopefully, as I would like a replacement for this when mine runs out.

I bought this off of Ebay, I wanted to avoid the high price. So I got a GWP size (and I prefer the GWP packaging to the regular retail full-size packaging, which is more bulky) of this red lipstick which has tinges of pink and brown. The staying power is average, the texture of this lipstick is Great! Really moist-feeling and smooth. I like this lipstick, but if you are a shrinking violet, stay away from this color. I was photographed with this lipstick on and while some of the background is dark, you can see the lipstick in this picture.

I wore this on my wedding day with a smoked out eye and it was simply beautiful. It came as a gift w/ purchase. Reds of any kind are difficult for me to find. I'm PPP, with cool underyones and very pale. I cried when i found out that LORAC got rid of "Jennifer." Clinique's black cherry works well but doesn't last. On a whim I picked this color up and tried it. It looks and feels fantastic. I am very impressed with this color! YAY!

This is one of my favorite Lancolm lipstick shades. It's a great shade that can be worn for daytime or at night. It goes on smooth and has decent staying power. In the tube Sugared Maple appears to have reddish-orange tones, however I think it is more of a reddish-mauve shade when applied. This will be a lipstick that I will continually keep stocked in my makeup case!

Pretty much a Lancome classic for good reason. Sugared Maple is one of those colors that can pretty much work on everybody regardless of skin tone...definitely worth a try.

i'm giving this a price = 'dirt cheap,' b/c even though it's one of my fave l/s's of all time, i've not yet had to buy one, thanks to the generous gwp's in my area. i'm on my 5th tube of this (which is a lot for me -- l/s is my favorite makeup item, so i have tons of colors, and i'm always wearing something different). i'm blonde/blue, and this shade is *heavenly* on me. i never would've tried it if a m/u artist hadn't used it on me when i was getting dolled up for Valentine's day a few years back. my eyes were done in shimmery nudes and neutrals, with a heavy brown brow, and i was going to be dressing in silver and black. when the artist brought out Sugared Maple, i balked; after all, my outfit was to be cool in undertones, and i do best with cool lip colors (my skintone is Px yellow-orange, btw). the makeup artist forced me to trust her, and i'm glad i did. i would not have *dreamed* of combining this rich, warm, medium reddish-brown with a just a hint of salmon with silver and black! but god, what a gorgeous and brilliant combo with my blonde hair and blue eyes. give it a try! btw, the consistency of the l/s rocks, too. soooo creamy and smooth and thick, without being tacky or otherwise sticky and drying. slightly moisturizing product. i love Lancome l/s's ... some of the best there are. btw, this is not at all a red on me, as it is on some of the other reviewers -- it fluctuates between looking like a warm, coralish-brown on me, to a warm berry-brown (depending on what i'm wearing, my skin tone, and my hair color).

This is among the most wearable, cheerful reds I've tried. It combines rosy-mauve and russet brown into a well-balanced, neutral(ish) lipstick, something of a bronzed red-berry. Faint pearlescence adds depth without crossing into shimmer, and the texture is moisturizing... Unfortunately the "but" - this does not last more than two hours on me. It's also a little on the sheer side - needs liner to fully define lips.
