I'm really sorry to report this product was a huge disappointment. I have rosacea which I've had under control for the past year with the help of Finacea (smooth skin, no postules). I bought this lotion when I went to the counter at Neiman Marcus to buy FutureSkin foundation, which I love, and the consultant convinced me to try this stuff. She applied it, and did full make up over it. It went on beautifully in the store and did not irritate me like most stuff does right away, so I bought it even though it was crazy expensive, but I'm used to paying a lot for a mositurizer that doesnt break me out (was using SkinCeuticals till then). So I was super happy for the first few days and then I noticed I was getting red and my postules were starting to pop out again but I thought it was because I was stressed and traveling a lot. Another week went by, and now I am SURE it's this lotion. I apply in and within minutes the bumps surface in full force, red, flared up, and totally distracting just as my rosacea was at its peak, before I started Finacea treatment. So, bottom line: if you have rosacea, DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT. You might not see the irritation right away, but a week or two later, it will have your skin in a tizzy and here I am, back to square one with my rosacea regimen. I love Chantecaille makeup, but the skincare is not what it's cracked up to be. I will stick to my SkinCeuticals lotion, which does not break me out, and my jojoba oil every other night. That's what I get for experimenting! Sheesh.

The older I get the more oilier and acne prone my skin gets. My daily morning ritual consists of just sunscreen with a semi-matte finish and some tinted moisturizer. I've been looking for the RIGHT light moisturizer to be the in between because my tinted moisturizer isn't moisturizing enough. I bought this product with my $50 Neiman's gift card so I ended up paying $17 for this so it's worth it!
The texture is light and watery. Surprisingly, it really smoothed out and softened my skin. True the it might not be moisturizing enough on it's own in winter so keep that in mind if you have dry / normal skin. For night time, If you're layering it over a serum (which I do at night), it won't feel as though your face is super slick which is awesome.
May repurchase if I don't find something else better that I like.

Really light-weight and smells great. But not moisturizing enough for someone in cold weather.

I absolutely love this product. Unfortunately, now that I'm in college my mom no longer foots the bill for a $70 face lotion. I'm still looking for a cheaper alternative because once I've used this for a couple years, nothing compares! It is water-based and is so light on your skin without making it oily at all. My skin is acne prone and is very dry when I go to put on make up, but is ridiculously oily an hour later but this never made me feel like I had an extra layer of build up or grease on me!

The salesguy suggested this lightweight moisturizer for my oily skin and gave me generous samples. After using the rice cleanser which left me squeaky clean, I was hoping this would balance out the tautness of my face. It did - at first. On initial application, it is light and makes your skin feel smooth. Less than an hour later however, I was a shiny mess. I used this for about a week, hoping to see an improvement but every time it was the same. It's a shame - Chantecaille has great color products (tinted spf, base, powder, blush and mascara) but this was not a fit for me.

Read the ingredients list of this very expensive product and hiddent amongst the oh-so-lovely waxes and extracts, you will find ISOPROPYL MYRISTATE, the terrible petrochemical used in cheap drugstore products. A reviever below made the same point. IPM is the culprit behind most cosmetic-related acne and irritation. I could not believe how a brand so 'purist' could include such a terrible oil in its products. And then claim to be oil-free. This is why so many reviewers commented about mysterious break-outs and oiliness. Whatever extracts or lovely flower waxes you put in a product, if the delivery system includes cheap mineral oils and myristates, stay away from it. They sit on the pores and cannot be absorbed or eliminated by the skin. The immediate efect will be oiliness, developing into break-outs. In time the heavy-weight of these petrochemicals will act with gravity and sag your skin. Read the labels of effective skincare products from scientifically acclaimed serious brands, and you will never see such ingredients.

this is a great product. initially, i thought i had found my HG facial moisturizer for day - oil free and with sun protection - but after using it for a few months, as we move into summer, i'm getting concerned about the level of SPF (if any) in this product. i tend toward freckles with too much sun exposure and wasn't too sure about the SPF. what i love about this: the silky texture, the delicate rose scent, and the way it quickly absorbs into my skin. it leaves my face feeling soft but not oily (i have normal skin with slightly oily T zone). basically, i am a sucker for all of the chantecaille products, but unfortunately i think i'll need to move on to a moisturizer with more SPF.

I bought this cos I tried the Flower Harmonizing Cream which didn't irritate me and was totally fine but wanted to try this for something lighter to wear in the day underneath makeup. However, this broke me out badly and gave me tons of clogged pores. My skin is very sensitive and prone to clogged pores. Love the packaging though as opposed to the Cream that comes in a huge tub that doesn't seem very sanitary.

This is a decent moisturising fluid, but I prefer the Harmonizing Cream. Apart from the fact it smells nice, it does not contain sunscreen which is a minus in my book; also, I am not sure but some of the plant extracts in this may have slightly irritated my skin (which did not happen with HC). I love Chantecaille products and they are a pleasure to use, but I've now given up on them; sure I would be quite happy to keep using them (except for sunscreen) but the darn stuff just costs too much! There is no way any skin care, no matter how lovely, can be worth such money.

I have been using the harmonizing cream, but although lovely, it is so expensive. This is around 20 pounds cheaper and although I was worried that it wouldn't be moisturising enough, it's absolutely wonderful on my sensitive and stroppy skin. I even prefer it to the harmonising cream and the pump is much better. Strongly recommend.

This like many other products from this line is very overpriced ,and in my opinion over rated. It states on the packaging that it is oil free, however if you look at the ingredients it clearly contains oil (what is that about, 'natural' oils don't count?) . The texture is light, but it is deceptively so as I found it too rich particularly in the warmer more humid months for my skin. If you want a light gel type moisturiser I would recommend Korres , either their Pomegranate Balancing one of the Manadarin one for young skin instead.

I've tried this product several times, and it's really just a little too rich for my skin type (normal/comb tending towards oily, sensitive w/ occasional breakouts). A short while after application, my skin feels very greasy....which is somewhat surprising, as it is billed as a light moisturizer for all skin types.

I like Chantecaille a lot-and this is no exception. I have oily skin and it sunk in immediatly with no breakouts (in fact i think it may have even helped!), and smooth velvet skin afterwards. I agree, the difference is noticeable. What i love is that it's 95% botanicals. The cost is terrible-but compared to La Mer, it is handleable. At first my skin was a tiny bit sensitive, but this has pasted and i've had no more trouble.
So turns out this breaks me out, shame but lucky i just using a plus sized sample.

This is really liquidy, so I’d say it’s great for oilier skins. It has a nice light scent and absorbs instantaneously. Best bit? It makes skin SO velvety afterwards, it’s a really noticeable difference!

I don't understand if this product is supposed to be for oily/combo skin or what. It says "Oil-free", it's very light, yet moisturizing enough and sinks in immediately, so I'm guessing that's what this is for - more oily skins. Performs well, doesn't smell particularly bad or good, but isn't really anything spectacular. I don't know what a full size costs, but I'm guessing it's riduculously priced like all Chantecaille things. I could definitely live without this and most probably could find a similar or even better product in a different brand.

This light fluid provided more moisture than I expected, yet sunk in easily for a non-greasy finish, ideal under make-up. I was surprised to find it more moisturising than the thicker cream in the range. Even so, it is more suited to borderline-normal dry skin than to very dry, and not too heavy for oily skin either. I had some stinging and sensitivity on application, although this passed. As I am not normally especially sensitive, this may be a warning to those who are. This is a nice basic moisturiser, but outrageously priced for what it is, so I wouldn't repurchase unless the price dropped massively.

I am not sure about this one. It seems to make my face feel a little oiler than my La Mer does and I don't have dry skin. I imagine it would be better for drier skin, but it does absorb into the skin very well.It has a lovely soft rose smell and it comes in a pump bottle like La Mer but it is not as thinck as La Mer. It has a lot of great things in it and my skin was very soft and dewey looking with not breakouts, but but I don't think I would give up La Mer for this or re-purchase it. I am just a La Mer addict as far as my daily lotion goes.

A very, nice, moisturizing product - and a very nice scent. I'm prone to breakouts, so am very careful about what I put on my face. So far, so good. While this is a good product (and certainly the lovely scent is a bonus), I can't help but to think that there is something out there that is similar that costs less. A good product that I'd use often - depending on the state of my checkbook, however.
