This lotion does the trick on dry skin, as it is ment for women who live in a very dry desert climate. The products are from Israel and are very high quality.
I love the neutral scent and package, just like what a high quality product used in a beauty spa should be.
The price isn't cheap, I get my products straight from Israel, but here in Belgium (where I live) they are extremely expensive.

I've used Ahava body lotions and hand creams on and off for about 4 years now. I like the fragrance and have found that even friends with sensitive skin can use this body lotion and nothing else. I like the fact that the the lotion absorbs well and has a low "rub-off" factor on clothing. I do agree with those who say this lotion may not provide enough moisture, but if you're looking for something that absorbs well, smells fresh, and allows you to dress quickly, this is a good choice.

This review is for Dead Sea Essentials by Ahava body lotion in "Aloe Vera".
Quick Review:
Pros- smells fresh (not overpowering), fast absorbing, not greasy, softens skin
Cons- somewhat pricey, inconvenient bottle
Overall: I would love to give this product 5 stars BUT it is pretty pricey IMO, and the bottle is a little awkward to use, especially when your hands are covered in lotion
Complete Review:
I am very picky about body/hand lotions, because I don't want to "feel" the lotion and don't want to smell as if I doused myself in perfume... and I think I have found "the one" lol. I bought the Dead Sea Essentials by Ahava body lotion in "Aloe Vera" from Target, though I am sure there are other places to find this product.
When applying the lotion, move quickly because it does absorb faster than most (which is mentioned on the back of the bottle), so be warned if you are the type that likes to "rub in" their lotions, which I am not, I typically don't allow myself that much time in the mornings to get ready. My skin seems to love this lotion, it feels very soft, even hours later, especially the backs of my arms. I have keratosis pilaris which leaves my arms somewhat dry, bumpy and red/pink, and this product appears to have helped :)
The scent "seems" strong when you first smell it in/out of the bottle, but once you apply it, the scent starts to dissipate. It smells very fresh, not very floral nor powdery, it's hard to describe. Long after application, you can still smell a hint of the lotion, which I find very nice, especially if you have a "special" person nuzzling your neck ;)
Unfortunately there are a couple downfalls. First, it is quite pricey IMO. It was $18 for a 17 ounce bottle!!! This may not seem like much, except for the fact that I am almost 1/3 through the bottle and I've only had it for a week and a half and have used it just a little more than every other day. Second, the bottle is a pain in the rear. It is rectangular shaped and bulky, which wouldn't be a concern of mine, if it had a pump, which it doesn't... you have so squeeze the product out which can prove difficult with a smooth bottle and slick hands.
So overall, I am really enjoying this lotion and definitely will be buying it again (unless of course I find something that tops this lol)... The only things I would change about this product is the price (who wouldn't?) and the bottle.

Buy the mineral hand lotion and use it as a body lotion. For some reason it's not quite the same formula and feels thinner. Doesn't refresh my skin the same way, though the smell is the same. I prefer other body lotions, jergens works just as well.

I really wanted to like this and bought 2 big bottles of this at a deep discount at Winner's. Definitely would not pay the full price for this product. I find that I need a lot to moisturize. Very average moistuizer. I don't find the scent particularly strong.

I love everything that I have used from AHAVA. The mineral body lotion is no exception. It has a light texture and it smooths into my skin nicely. I enjoy the fresh fragrance- sort of an aloe, cucumber-ish salty scent. The fragrance isn't cloying at all. This lotion leaves my skin feeling soft and silky, never sticky. Two thumbs up!

I found this lotion at my local Ulta store and I love it BUT...the smell is so overpowering. It doesn't smell bad but it is SO strong and the scent lasts all day and night. What's the point of wearing expensive perfume if all you can smell is the lotion. I won't be purchasing it again.

Really like the AHAVA brand, but this lotion sucks. The hand cream is fantastic, this lotion doesnt perform at all!! Leaves my skin dry, scaly, and yuck texture. You have to use a ton of it for moisture, so yes no value to it's expense. Funny because I used this stuff a few years ago and it worked great. I think they changed the formula. But O Highly recommend the hand cream, dont waste your time or money on the lotion. If youre in this price range try epicuren afterbath, the best! Wouldnt buy again, do not recommend.

The scent is a tad over powering. I am not crazy about his lotion. I got it from the good reviews I have seen on other sites and I was disappointed. It really is not moisturizing enough, and the smell makes me not want to use it.

I like that this is a light and moisturizing lotion. You apply it and it gets absorbed into our skin within seconds and leaves it feeling silky. I don't mind the smell, but it can be overpowering for people with scent sensitivities. Overall, a good and light lotion.

Bought this product after trying the hand creme and loving it. I have found it to be a "good" product-I had dry flaky skin -calves, forearms, etc., and this helped soothe the itchiness and flakiness, and calmed the skin down, but just didn't seem to maintain the moisture as well as other products I have used. (Ginger Souflee-Origins). However, the scent is dreamy, the packaging is great, and it feels great going on initially. However, I love the hand creme version of this.

I live in Singapore with humidity hitting the roof. So I need a body lotion that is light enough to carry me through. I was hooked on L'Occitaine's Milk Concentrate until I discovered Ahava.

I personally believe that the true measure of a lotion is skin softness/silkiness after 8 hours of use. Kiehl's creme de corps, Clarins silky smooth and most of L'occitaines body lotions that I have tried did not stand up to this. Only Ahava did.

I did not like the smell but I don't mind it. My skin has never stayed this silky all day long. Can even feel it while washing myself in the shower. Best used while skin is still damp. I love it.

This makes me sneeze! There are better lotions out there, and this isn't worth the price. It also smells like Baby Powder and Old Fashioned Grandmas - it may work for some people but just not me.

This is just a basic mosturizer. It does not live up to all the hype.I was sure this would be a miracle cream because of all the hype and the expensive price surrounding it.In this case I feel like a sucker for falling for this and am glad I have my receipt so I can return the rest of the stuff I purchased.

Scent was ok. The lotion itself is very light and would be perfect for hot days. It sinks in my skin leaving it soft, but thats it. It could be a tad more moisturizing. Overall, its not a bad product, but there are just better lotions out there for less money.

I used this lotion after taking a bath salts bath. This lotion seemed pretty typical but it did smell good and leave my skin smooth but not greasy or sticky. I used it as a general body lotion on my legs and arms and they do feel softer today.
It's not amazing but it's not bad either.

I used to like this. Alot. Until I learned that all these companies that base their products on Dead Sea minerals are rapidly depleting it and the Jordan River, of its' resources. I've been to the Dead Sea, and it's an amazing place to be in and experience. I won't be using Ahava anymore, nor all the other brands that seem to be depleting the Dead Sea of it's resources at such an alarming rate, simply for their corporate bottom line.

I'm disappointed! After applying it several times at BBW, I finally bought a bottle (at T.J. Maxx for $7.99!!). But, it did not live up to the hype. I was expecting smooth and silky skin; but nothing happened. My legs still feel as if I never lotioned them. The smell isn't bad, but it's not great either. I'm just glad I didn't pay $20 for it. I will not repurchase this. It is not moisturizing enough.

Boo on Ahava! I don't understand all the hype, to tell the truth. It doesn't really seem to "pull" any extra moisture into my skin. IT's just like any other lotion, which is fine, but I can spend a lot less for the same effects. I also had trouble with the scent--too strong and unpleasant to me!
